I’ve been coming here for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it! I attend the Wednesday night psychic development class, the 11 week course psychic school as well as Sunday service.
I showed up to the Wednesday night class expecting to learn more about meditation and I got a whole lot more! I never realized we all have intuitive psychic abilities and can communicate with spirit until my first class. This place has opened a whole new world for me. One full of hope. The people are all friendly and it’s definitely a judgement free zone. It’s not a fancy place but that’s because they don’t ask for 10% of your income.

So many things. I am a psychic/​medium. When I first started learning mediumship I wanted to take classes and this was nearby. However, they don’t let you take any classes unless you sit through their lectures. Even though I have been studying metaphysics for over 30 years, I thought «That’s okay. I’ll do this and it will be a means to an end.»
OMG. Talk about suffering for a cause. With the exception of one guest lecturer out of the entire 13 weeks, you have never heard a cadre of worse speakers. The word «drone» does not even begin to describe it. Furthermore, they want you to take a test at the end of it, but have no idea how to teach or how to help people retain material. Eight weeks into it, I offered someone a mediumship reading, and she actually didn’t know what it was. I had to *explain* to her what mental mediumship was. She had no concept of what they were talking about or where they were going after eight full weeks.
When the test finally comes around, it’s nothing more than «recite what we have given you.» There is no discussion, there is no conceptualization, it’s pure dogma. I even quoted them verbatim on one part of it, saying «this is what you have taught, it’s not my personal belief, but this is the answer to the question.» This was not a fact we were talking about here, it was a spiritual concept of souls. The woman had the audacity to tell me my beliefs, based in Native American Spiritual Philosophy were «Wrong.»
This was after weeks of saying how open they are to all spiritual beliefs and cultures. Yeah, not so. It was one of the most dogmatic places I’ve ever experienced. It’s unfortunate because there were some nice people there, just as there are at Harmony Grove, but in both places, there were enough dyed in the wool fundamentalists that it wasn’t worth the effort.
It’s a shame because Spiritualists claim to be so open-​minded and universal, but they appear to be just another church that expects you to believe whatever they believe without questioning anything or having your own concepts of spirituality. I mean, if they want to believe that animals don’t have souls, so be it, but they will never convince me of that. It doesn’t mean that I couldn’t get something out of some of their stuff, but they don’t allow for that if you don’t subscribe to every last concept. And just because I believe that animals have souls and reincarnate, doesn’t mean I can’t be a good medium … which my clients tell me I am. It’s just too bad that a few bad apples, like in any religion, leave such a bad taste in your mouth.
