Brent Poe — Mr. Poe has been in the commercial and film lighting industry for over 30 years as a Gaffer and chief lighting technician. His impressive list of movie credits can be found on our website on the About page. His enduring passion for creativity in lighting techniques is now applicable to weddings, parties and other special events.

Scott McBride — Nephew and apprentice to Brent Poe, Scott has over 5 years lighting industry experience and has enjoyed a long career in the event and entertainment industry working at such high-​end venues as Del Mar Racetrack and Harrah’s Casino. Scott’s experience in marketing and consulting will be a true asset to your event planning initiatives.

Together, this family team is bringing stage light quality lighting to the event level. Now you can have lighting special effects similar to those found in movies and high-​end events at your own wedding, party or corporate event.

Scott was amazing! I reached out via the website just days before my event and he was able to work my wedding in even though his team had events scheduled the same day. Scott was knowledgeable and extremely thorough. He was flexible with the options that we had at the venue and was able to share his no pressure suggestions for the setup in two different areas of the park.
The day of the event it became apparent that the venue had some challenges but Scott is an excellent problem solver. He came to me with options for a resolution and made it SO simple to determine the best option together. It would have been easier for him to just tell me there was a problem and let me figure it out alone, but he truly went the extra mile to be sure that I could make an informed decision and that it was stress free for me. He clearly takes pride in his work.
My family and friends were wowed by the ambiance that he was able to create with the lighting. I received so many compliments!
Scott promised that the evening would be magical and he delivered above and beyond my expectations. I can’t wait to plan my next outdoor event so that I can use Brilliant Event Lighting again.

Scott was amazing! He was so thorough and prompt with his emails and was so easy to work with! I was so initially nervous about how everything would look and he did a great job reassuring me that the venue would look gorgeous. We ordered uplights, a gobo of a tree (because our theme was an enchanted forest), as well as pinspots on the guest table and the cake table. When we entered the ballroom for the first time as husband and wife, we were just BLOWN AWAY. The ballroom was enchanting indeed! Thanks so much Scott for an amazing job!

I’ve had the privilege of working with Scott and B.E.L. on several occasions. He is very professional, fair and goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is just perfect. B.E.L will never cut corners. They have a large variety of market lighting and tons of Up/​spot light options. They will meet every lighting option requested. In addition, he has a great relationship with tons of wedding and other event vendors. If you are looking for other services, he will provide you with the highest quality business for the best price. Brilliant Event lighting helped transform a middle school gym into a magical space for a Father Daughter dance our school held. Scott was super nice and worked well with us even with our VERY limited set up time. He and his employee set up in a timely manner and made the event truly special. They even added hanging lanterns from their lights to make the dance floor stand out. It was GREAT! It’s amazing what lighting can do to a space and how it can change the atmosphere. This review is in regards to the booking process. Scott has been such a pleasure to work with as far as booking the lighting for our wedding ceremony. This company is beyond incredibly responsive. I had multiple questions and Scott responded immediately. We decided to book our lighting with Brilliant Event Lighting because of their extensive portfolio as well as the customer service we received. They are extremely reasonable and accommodating and have been such a pleasure to work with thus far. I’ll be sure to follow up this review after our wedding to give an update as far as the delivery at the actual event.

Communication with Scott was consistent, rapid fire, and easy. The staff that set up the lighting worked well with the other vendors and was flexible about the setup and takedown times.

Scott and Desiree with Brilliant Event Lighting are awesome. They really know how to transform a space and their set up is very clean and minimal. Their market lights are always so magical and I absolutely love their Edison bulbs! It’s always such a pleasure to work with them. We used Brilliant Event Lighting for our wedding last month in Temecula and it turned out just beautifully!
Scott was very attentive and helpful from day one. As wedding planning goes, I had indecisive moments and Scott was so willing to work with all the changes. I simply sent him pictures of what I liked on Pinterest and in magazines and he helped me envision what would look great. He was also very creative with installations as the venue had some rules about hooks in the ceilings and walls, etc. Wedding day was a flurry! He knew to arrive at the venue nice and early and got everything set up beautifully. I was in love with the final look. Our guests loved it Check out the pictures.
I give Scott and Brilliant Event a wholehearted thank you for making my day enchanting with the atmosphere created. I highly recommend them for any event and definitely for weddings.
