I recently had a leaking master bath shower emergency at an occupied rental property in Encinitas. As a matter of fact, the tenants had just moved in — very embarrassing! After contacting Atlas and having them diagnose the issue (lose tile at the base of the shower tray), Joe took a very consultative vice sales approach in looking at options and solutions. In the end, we decided that remodeling the shower was the better long term, cost effective solution. I recently used the Atlas team for a complete transformation of my beach house and can personally say what a pleasure they are to work with. My husband and I first met Joe back in 2013 when we needed someone to assist us with the rehab of my family’s property in Poway, CA after moving my 91 year old Mother into assisted living. She had lived in the residence for 40+ years, the last 15 of it without my Father who used to take care of things. Needless to say, it was falling into disrepair and it was her main asset. We were attempting to do the rehab ourselves until we found a crack in the slab and then decided it was way over our heads. Getting in contact with Joe was the best thing we ever did. He was completely undaunted by the immensity of the project so we turned the whole thing over to him. He completely refurbished and upgraded the entire home and grounds, using amazing insight into structure and design, to end up with an up-​to-​date floor plan and interior décor that helped to get the highest price in the current market.
We were so impressed with his work, that we asked him to assist us in finding a piece of rental property here in San Diego, We are new to the area, but he is very knowledgeable and since he had both real-​estate and construction experience, we felt confident in bidding on properties that needed some work. He went with us to see all the properties we were interested in so he could inspect them and give us estimates of rehab costs in order to make realistic offers to the sellers. He was also valuable in the realm of property values, a good thing to be when the market is going a little crazy. He knew when the sale prices were over inflated and wisely counseled us when to pull back.
We were successful in purchasing a duplex in a good area and Joe and Trevor started the rehab. I felt very confident about this project because I had already seen the quality of work accomplished in my Mom’s home. Once again, they showed insight into design and marketability creating top notch rental units which are now getting high end rents. We managed these units ourselves for the first year, and now, since my husband and I are leaving for Mexico on a sailing adventure, it made perfect sense to turn the management over to them.
What sets Atlas Assets Investments apart from the rest is their ability to start at the beginning, where you have nothing, and follow it through until the very end where they are renting and managing your investment for you.
