just used him again this week. same old fred, but with new truck.
honest, hard working, and helped me get my sh*t done quickly and efficiently.
will not rent a truck anymore. with fred ex you get an extra set of hands and someone who knows what they are doing.

We phoned this guy on a Saturday morning about moving a small furniture item however he did not return our call until Monday. His website states that he is open weekends so we would have appreciated a phone call back sooner or some message on his outgoing voicemail stating his availability.
By the time he phoned us back, we had already found someone else to do the job.
This person seems pretty young and probably has a lot to learn about business and customer service.

FredEx was great! I needed extra help, a vehicle large enough to transport a queen size bed and table, and most importantly needed both at an affordable price. Fred and his truck was exactly what i needed. He was strong, punctual and friendly. All you need in a mover! I recommend him to anyone who needs a trustworthy and professional helping hand at a great price.

Fred is just a guy with a truck.
Nice, on-​time, polite, reasonably priced and definitely not lazy. We played tetris with our sectional couch.
Not only do you have a vehicle to move your stuff, you have an extra pair of hands for help.

Fred was great. Easy to schedule a move with. He texted me, when he realized he was running late. He was very responsible with moving furniture. He even helped me to get rid of the dresser I was replacing. I would definitely use Fred’s services again.

A friend of mine suggested FredEx when I was moving to San Francisco and I can’t thank her enough. I was at ikea with tons of furniture and Fred came in to help me load everything on to the cart, help me push it through check out, and carefully pack it into his truck. Mind you I had bought everything from mattresses to coffee tables, he fit everything in like a pro tetris player and tied it down safely with ropes. My things arrived at my apartment in perfect condition and Fred helped me move them into the designated rooms. I called him 30minutes before I needed him to help me and I was so glad he made it. Definitely would hire FredEx again!

Fred came and did a difficult, dirty job (literally — it was moving six half wine barrels FULL of slightly damp, heavy compost) on almost no notice. His price was more than fair. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough great things about Fred. Others have said it best: He’s like your buddy with a truck, only more punctual and you don’t have that «I owe you one» guilt hanging overhead.
Fred met me today in SF to pick up a sofa I’d ordered. He arrived 5 minutes early in a clean truck, efficiently helped me move the sofa into the truck, strapped it down and 30 minutes later he was at my place in Oakland, helping move the sofa inside.
Fred was courteous, knowledgeable, punctual and affordable! This probably is not a great option if you have a ton of stuff to move, but if you just have a couple of items he’s a lot more reasonable and efficient than hiring a delivery truck.

I was very impressed with FredEx. He was very respectful, easy to deal with and best yet very knowledgeable with moving. He was so much easier to deal with than a corporate moving company like Uhaul that I will not go back to them. FredEx has my vote from now on!

FredEx is better than having a friend with a truck, because it’s like having a friend with a truck on call and without feeling guilty or indebted. I’ve used him twice in the last month: once to pick up a Craigslist furniture purchase and the second time to pick up Keetsa mattress and frame. He’s on time, friendly, helpful, hard-​working, and very reasonably priced. He’s also very responsive. I text him and get a msg back fast.
I don’t think he is a professional moving company that carries insurance and all that other stuff. But, he does have a blanket or two and is very careful with the objects he’s moving.
If you want to move an heirloom piece, you may want to pay more and get a professional mover with insurance. If you’re picking up boxes of IKEA furniture or used couch and just need a truck and a strong helping hand, Fred is the way to go.
I wonder if he will continue his service after he graduates. ..

FredEx is awesome! Quick, helpful, attentive, polite, hard-​working, reasonably priced… you really can’t ask for more.
I called Fred today after seeing his ad on craigslist to schedule moving a large buffet we bought from the store to our home. 30 minutes later we were loading up his truck and on our way. I’ve added his number to my contact list. When I need something moved, I’m calling Fred!

We recently moved into our new apartment without any dressers, so our clothes collected dust on the floor. A quick visit to Ikea showed several items we were interested in but with no way of picking it up, I searched on craigslist for a reasonable mover and found FredEx. A message was left and he promptly returned the call and was available to help us out on short notice.
The flat rate was $ 45/​hr to SF which includes toll and gas. He met us at Ikea at the scheduled time. The truck was loaded with about 300 lbs of particle wood, which was carried up a flight of stairs. We left at separate times and he ended up reaching the destination first.
Nothing was stolen or damaged and you have stuff moved at a reasonable price.

FredEx is the man! I was in a bind as I had bought a pre-​assembled Ikea King size bed slat and had no way of transporting it — I had an SUV but even that wouldn’t work due to the sheer size of the item. To rent a U-​haul would cost over $ 90 after taxes/​mileage/​gas, making it not even worth the purchase… what to do?
Call FredEx! Fred was very responsive — he even texted me back while in class to confirm the time. He was right on time, rolled up in the truck with the FredEx sticker on the side (nice!), and got right to business.
He had the necessary straps and skills to tie it all down for freeway transport. Once we got to the destination he helped me carry it up the stairs, completing the job with finesse.
With responsivness and reasonable prices, FredEx is the way to go for your onsey/​twosey item transport needs.

$ 30 an hour for a strong, helping hand and a pickup truck is not only totally reasonable, but kind of a ‘friend-​saver’. Meaning, why subject one of your friends. you know, that friend with a truck (getting harder to find these days) with such a crappy day of moving YOUR stuff. They have to schedule their life around you, and you feel that you need to pay them back, and ultimately you’ve spend over $ 30 in gas, lunch and beer to pay your friend back who’s now tired and just wants to go home because you scuffed up his or her truck.
Fred shows up on time and works hard. He’s also a super cool dude, so moving your stuff with him is kinda like hanging out with a friend anyway.

I had to move some Tatami mats from El Cerrito to Alameda. Fred was able to squeeze in this last minute request in his busy schedule, and I think I paid 30 dollars for his troubles.
I don’t know how else I could move those things for less than that.
Fred works hard and he deserves your phone call when you need something moved.

Fred helped me move a bed frame in San Francisco. He drove to the city, met me at the pick-​up location, and even gave me a ride to my place with the bed frame very securely tied down in the flat bed. He was very nice, professional, and helpful and offered rates that were better than other private movers in the city. You don’t need to worry about ANY of the supplies too, he had a dolly (but we didn’t use it), all the ties and ropes that were needed to hold down cargo, etc. Fred is great, I would recommend him to ANYONE!

Fred was great. He called to confirm and showed up when he said he would. He helped my girlfriend and I moved a couch, mattress and giant bed frame across Oakland for a reasonable price. He even helped us move it out the apartment. I would recommend him highly.

He’s definitely our go-​to guy!
We recently moved and we have used FredEx for a bunch of trips to and from IKEA — probably 5 times now. Every time he’s been there right on time, and he’s quick, strong, motivated, and friendly. Hiring Fred is SO much better than just renting your own truck, because you get his help carrying the heavy loads as well and his price is very reasonable. He’s been available on very short notice sometimes, too.
To be clear, he’s just one guy with a medium size truck, so for the heavy or bulky things, I was carrying it with him. And if you have a huge move you may want a company with a big truck and more guys — I like «One Big Man and One Big Truck» for that. But if you have a smaller move or you’re just getting some new furniture or lumber, Fred’s perfect.

My husband and I needed to pick up some wardrobes from Ikea, and instead of renting a pick up truck and doing all the heavy lifting ourselves, we thought we would look for some help on Craigslist. I don’t use Craigslist very often and I’m nervous about contacting a stranger (I know it’s kinda lame… I know). I saw Fred’s listing and liked the fact that there was a picture of him — somehow I found that reassuring. Also, his rates seemed very reasonable.
We contacted Fred via email and he was very responsive and very flexible with the schedule. He suggested the best time to go to Ikea to avoid the crowds, and he was punctual once we set the time to meet. He offered to go inside the store to pick up the cartons and boy were we glad he did! First of all, the cartons were really really heavy. I wasn’t much help to my husband at all. Before we went to the cashier, Fred asked if he could just double check all the cartons to make sure we got the correct ones. We don’t shop at Ikea often, so we thought it was a good idea. Sure enough, we had grabbed some wrong boxes (similar pieces, the product code was off by one digit or something), and we would have been REALLY upset if we had taken those home, only to find out they were the wrong pieces after we had started putting them together. Shopping at Ikea is already quite an ordeal, and I would really hate to have to repackage something and return it. And these boxes were HUGE (100 inches long)! I know that some people may try to save time and just have Fred meet them outside the store, but trust me, it’s worth it to have Fred with you at the warehouse!
Once we got to the house, Fred moved a lot of the cartons by himself and he took such great care as not to damage our floors or walls. The entire process took about 2 hours, which was really great because it would’ve taken us who knows how long to rent a truck, do all the heavy lifting, and then return the truck, etc. Fred is also such a nice guy! We couldn’t be happier with Fred and have been telling everyone we know about him. If we need help with moving big items again, we would definitely contact him, without a doubt.

Having moved over ten times in the past 5 years, I can attest to the fact that there are a lot of crummy movers out there.
He showed up when he said he would, he returned my calls and was very flexible when I decided I wanted to move a few more things we had not previously discussed.
I’d recommend him for those smaller trips when that piece of furniture just won’t fit in your car or the store wants to charge you an exorbitant amount of money to deliver that must have piece of furniture.
I’d hire him again and definitely refer him to my friends, as a matter of fact, I already have, twice.
