I had the opportunity to try some cupcakes from this cutie pie when I was in town visiting my best friend. She mentioned she had a treat waiting for us when we got back to her house. Boy, she was NOT kidding. There were a dozen mini cupcakes waiting for us to devour when we got to her place. I personally loved the lemon one, but I’m a lemon freak and think it is such a wonderful and tangy flavor. These were just the right ratio of zest and sweetness, thus explaining how they disappeared in a matter of seconds, err, I mean minutes, yeah, that’s it. Now whenever I’m in town I beg for my bestie to take us to the farmers market to pick some of these tasty explosions of heaven up. I wish Boomies was in LA, I would be all over her treats. Then again, maybe it’s a good idea she isn’t, I’d be having to up my workout regimen just to keep up with my cupcake addiction. Do yourself a favor and go get yourself some boomies baked goods. Now. That is all.

Mmmmm. I came across Boomies after I found a coupon on the counter and the rest of the ads at Rudy’s Can’t Fail Café just down the street from the Farmers Market that happens on Thursdays(unless it rains.) I held onto the coupon, Tweeted to see if they would honor the expired coupon and they said they would. But the two times I was going to go to the market to redeem the coupon the market was cancelled. BUT I finally was able to take part and try several of her flavors. The strawberry one was made from the strawberry vendor also at the farmers market. It was very sweet. People LOVE red velvet cake but I think it’s way too cream cheesy, but her’s was lighter and much better than any others I’ve tasted before. I didn’t try the lemon one as I’ve never been a sweet lemon lover in dessert. My absolute favorite is the Kona Kahlua cupcake and I took two back to the office with me. One for me, and one for one of my clerks. I am thinking about ordering from her for an upcoming birthday party… hmmm…

I was peeping into the emeryville civic center, spying on some hot librarian and being my cute pervy self… when what do I see but some motherfucking cUPCAKES! And the cute lady that sells them. I didn’t know she was sellin anything at first, and then I thought she was havin a little bake sale to raise money for someone. But it turned out to be the emeryville farmer’s market, closing down. She gives us a deal, even let’s us try a mini cuppycake. I’m not a fan of red velvet, but hers wasn’t bad, and I don’t usually say that about red velvet. I mean red velvet never tastes much like chocolate to me, so the addition of chocolate chips made the cakes actually interesting. I’ve been thinking and thinking over what a cupcake should be like, and not drawn any conclusions yet, but you know what? They’re just as good as most of the ones I’ve tasted, and boomie is a sweetheart, so come visit her, have your cake and eat it too. I haven’t tried any of the others, cuz I wasn’t in a cupcake mood and took mine to a friend, so I’ll update when I actually try the other flavors.
