This place has pretty much everything you want in a no frills, no fuss caribbean eatery. I’ve eaten at caribbean places in Jamaica, Queens and Flatbush, Brooklyn so I know what I’m talking about. I asked the very nice lady about what was popular and how she recommends ordering, and she was very helpful. I ordered a medium platter with rice and beans, sweet yams, curry goat and jerk chicken with an in-house-made ginger beer. Portion size was great for $ 10(Usually $ 8, but I ordered two meats). All the dishes were great and the ginger beer wasn’t overly sweet, just refreshing. Service 5⁄5 Décor 3⁄5(Who needs décor though) Food 4⁄5 I have had a slightly better Jamaican food, but this is a home run in Westchester County. BTW $ 10 minimum for credit cards

No frills, just a simple joint to get great jerk pork, patties and rice and peas. The food is really good and the staff is friendly.

It seems like this place is in the process of moving into the space next door which used to be an Indian restaurant. This is a hole in the wall, buffet-style Jamaican food joint. Delicious jerk chicken, ox tail, yams, collard greens and more. They also make their own ginger beers and juices which are delicious! Staff was friendly, but don’t expect anything fancy or any frills at this place — just GOOD food!

Family run Jamaican restaurant. Buffet style, mostly to go, so best when the turnover is high and the food just came out of the kitchen. Ribs are excellent. Brown stew chicken usually very good, as are the plantains. They seem to close earlier than their listed hours.

I didn’t like the buffet style option. Menu was confusing. Certain items were not on the buffet which was a separate item on menu. Which means more $$. Staff was nice, but there were too many rules bThe food was okay. I feel like when it sits out on the buffet like that it loses flavor. Best thing on plate was jerk Chicken and rice/peas

Cockroaches running over food behind the counter. Slow service as well. You are better off to go to any other Jamaican place. Go to Golden Krust next to Apple Farm and you will have a much better experience.

Rich, flavorful jerk sauce, amazing curried goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, calaloo, rice and beans. All of it moist, fall off the bone delicious. I’ve vacationed annually since 1990 in Negril, Jamaica. And had Islands Jamaican restaurant near the Brooklyn Museum cater my son’s wedding picnic. We know and love Jamaican and this is great. Very nice people too. And their own Sorrell that’s delicious. We happened to be in Elmsford and took a chance. Glad we did. What a find.

Delicious food — I love the jerk chicken and the plantains. The prices are so reasonable, too. I can get dinner for me and hubby(for take out) there for about $ 15. Not bad at all for high quality home made food.

I try to stop by for lunch at least once a month. If you’ve ever tried to make your own jerk chicken you probably know how difficult it is to cook it perfectly. At Sunsplash they’ve got it down. It’s a perfect blend of smokey flavor and spice with the added bonus of choosing your own portions.

Yay, since I really like Jamaican curry goat a lot, we tried eating here for the first time yesterday dinner. We kinda assumed that all buffets are eat all you can like those Chinese stores, but this one is not. Oh well, the food is great. First time trying Jerk Pork/Jerk Chicken and the pork was perfectly cooked, chicken kinda dry but the sauce made up for it. For $ 5.99 per lb. it’s a good deal, and well balanced, no need to overeat because of all those fulfilling meats, lol. I like the steamed vegetables along with the spicy curry goat, nom nom. Free bottle of water A+ plus, the cashier was funny and nice, she seems to giggle a lot though. I had two pieces of plantain, I was trying to calculate how much my food will cost when they weigh it in, lol, that’s the problem had to control amount of food. Recommended, much better if more food choices, dunno. =D

I’d love to give it 5 stars but the delicious beef patty hurt my teeth. And although it was good in my tummy the baby didnt like it and neither did the hubby.(And no i didnt feed it to the baby, only as a by-product… think!) So we will try again but for now I can not give it a 5. Kudos for being open before 11am!

This place went from OK to bad to very, very bad. Over priced and just plain yuck. If my last time there was the first time I ever ate Caribbean cuisine I may have thought it was not as wonderful as it is. Oh by the way, did I mentioned that I paid for«extra» ox tail and did not get half as much as you get from the Golden Krust in White Plains… stay AWAY.

This is a friendly, Jamaican dive with a family feel to it. The price is right. And I love the fact that it offers a self-serve buffet, so I can sample everything! The man running the cashier told me that if I ever want something and don’t see it out, just ask. That’s how I ended up with some delicious kingfish. Definitely plan to make this a regular stop on my dining tour of Westchester County.
