Pump it Up

I Had my daughters 5^th birthday here and she had a blast. Total of 20 – 25 kids and around 30 parents. Both play areas were clean and so was the party room where we ate as well as cut the cake. Staff was very helpful, accommodating and made the transition to each room very easy when the time was up. They did it in such a way where it didn’t feel like we were rushed at all. Very good experience definitely recommend this pump it up and if we had to do it all over again we would money well spent.

Michelle has great customer service and is very caring. Bringing your kids to her location will ensure a great time every time!

My party coordinator, Kendall, was so helpful for my 40^th birthday party. She was so pretty and youthful, and tended to my 70 year old mother as she tried her first bounce. Although she dislocated her hip, we still went on with the party as if nothing had happened. I have scheduled 5 future parties just to see her! You don’t even need guests to schedule a party which is super helpful when wanting one on one time with your party coordinator! :-)

This place it’s so amazingly Awesome for kids parties.
Lots of bouncing castles and obstacles for everyone. I got in there with my son and I got so exhausted. But that is a good thing. We had so much fun.
So we started with one room, then we got moved to another room, then to the party room with pizza.
There was always someone supervising and taking pictures for then to use later on a big screen in the pizza room.
Loved this place and definitely plan to make my next kid’s party.

What a great place. The owner is so nice and my kids love it. The boys could play here for hours. And it is very reasonably priced for the hours of fun your kids will have.

March 14^th I had a birthday party for my daughter who was turning 7 years old. I had some issues that I brought to management and as of date has not been responded to. I have had previous parties here before but this time had to have been the worst.
From the smell, to the experience of planning and confirming my party it was bad. They never updated my phone number, they recommended X amounts of pizza for my party size and it wasn’t enough. They passed out things without permission. And now they haven’t even responded to my email. I think this place needs to clean a little better, and be more customer service friendly. After spending almost 500 you would think they would be a little more friendly. Very disappointed.

Had our 6 year old’s party here. I loathe going to these parties for other kid’s birthdays but now I understand why. They take care of everything! The staff was great.
From the moment we walked in the staff had it all taken care of. They even take pictures for you.
It was a dream…

If I could put fewer stars, I would. For their New Years Party, they dimmed the lights so it was near impossible to keep track of my children. When I expressed concern, staff refused to provide any light in the room. The risk to the children did not stop there: this location provides no way of ensuring that your children are connected with you as the parent. Having said that, the kids had fun. But I left stressed out because of basic safety concerns.

My nieces and nephews always have a good time and ask to go all the time, but I’m not a fan.
the place needs to be a little more cleaner. I feel like even though everyone takes off their shoes, the carpet still get’s dirty. AND I’ve been there first thing in the morning and how is that possible? shouldn’t it be vacuumed from the night before?
I’ve been here for kids bdays and drop-​in playtime. The parent during drop ins are very responsible. I feel like they interact with their kids and I don’t have to worry about a little one getting knocked over by a big kid. PLUS if you go during designated age groups, you’ll never have that problem.
Parents don’t pay, which I feel is right. You’re their supervising your child and not «playing» so why should you pay?
I’ve also been their for the Halloween special event. I don’t have little ones anymore, just the nieces and nephews but they have a great time EVERY TIME. it’s great exercise and gets that pent up energy out.
Just wish it was a little cleaner, especially during the cold/​flu season– but that’s an easy fix.
We’ll still support them. Maybe one day Ill have MY birthday party there.

I give this one star because my 5 year old daughter always has a blast. HOWEVER, we’re 2 for 2 at this location for becoming sick w/​in 48hrs. of leaving the place. First time it was «pink eye» and the second time it was a nasty stomach virus. It’s filthy and I am confident that it is no coincidence that my daughter became sick, 2 years in a row!

By far the best birthday party my daughters had! Our party started at 4pm.. Kids watched a 5 min rule video then host took kids into the first inflatable room. 40 min. In this room it was awesome! There was no weight limit so parents got on them to! It was glow in the dark so it made the experience more exciting! After 40 min. We went to the next room were there was wall climbing! We were in there 55 min. I had to add an extra 15 min. Kids were having to much fun! After then the host took us into the party room were they had everything set up and decorated! I loved it my daughters loved it and so did there friends! Pizza was great! Easiest party I have ever thrown host did everything; cleaned, wrapped up our leftovers and served all the kids pizza and drinks. I also had to add 15 extra minutes in the party room so we didn’t have to rush and finish eating. All parents said they had a blast and want to have there kids party there! My daughters husband and I will never forget this day!

I thought they did an awesome job with my kids birthday party I had a great time there, and so did the kids and our guests! Awesome staff, great organization, only thing that could possibly make it better is a little more time in the party room, after the play time. I only give it 4 stars though bc the place costs an arm and a leg, I paid $ 350 for the basic 25 ppl 2 hr party, and had to skip out the option of serving pizza bc then it would have been nearly $ 100 more bc you’re not allowed to bring in your own food or pizza (other than dry chips, cant even bring in your own water bottles!) but we had a great day either way and everything went better than expected :)

OK, my first experience to pump it up was yesterday. Unfortunately, it will be my last.
First, lack of available parking… This place is in a really awkward location with limited parking. After circling the lot we went in and asked where we should park. The attendant said we could park on the side street next to the location.
After pulling three kids out of car seats and walking through the snow and UN SHOVELED sidewalks we were greeted before we hit the door by a teenager telling us they were full. Since we bought a groupon for this day, we asked if they’d refund it and were referred to the manager. The manager explained that they can accommodate 100 kids and they had 90 but if we wanted to stay we could so we thought we’d give it a shot.
Immediately upon walking in, you’re slapped in the face with a horrible urine smell. Not sure if it was really urine or just the stench of 90 smelly sweaty kids but it was enough to turn my stomach. For an out of school day, I’d have thought they’d ramp up staff and provide direction to the kids using the equipment. I saw quite a few staff members standing around chatting with boys instead of providing any assistance in preventing the smaller children from getting hurt. I’d rather the manager told us that at 90% occupancy safety for the little ones would be a concern, but she didn’t.
In addition I have to say, the inflatables appeared to be in poor condition (I saw a few with rips in them). After almost having a panic attack watching 8 year olds almost trample my tot, I decided enough was enough. We’d made it 10 minutes, about 7 too long. We gathered out stuff and asked the front desk for a refund. She couldn’t give us a refund, but she gave us vouchers. Perhaps we’ll use them on a quieter weekday?
But, to be honest… Next time I’ll just go to Monkey Joes! So much cleaner!

The NYE party was absolute chaos and the most poorly run event I have ever attended. While the website claimed that the parties sell out, it was clear that Pump it Up sold too many tickets to the event. There was absolutely no supervision in the play rooms. There were high school aged kids jumping from the top of the inflatable toys, adults pushing by kids to play on the toys. It was an absolutely horrendous experience. While Pump it Up might be ok for private parties where you know every person in attendance, I could never recommend Pump it Up to anyone after witnessing what I did on NYE. The woman at the front desk who appeared to be in charge never came in the play rooms to monitor the situation. Apparently she felt forcing most (but not all) parents to sign a waiver before they entered the room would release Pump it Up from the liability caused by their failure to supervise the event.

We haven’t attended any children’s parties here, but we came to visit on one of their drop in days for the PreK age set.
For 8 dollars (for the 1.5 hour allotted time) my 2.5 year old was able to run, climb, slide and jump around in one of their many inflatables of varying sizes in both their activity rooms. There were some Cozy Coupe cars for kids to vroom-​vroom themselves around in and a rock climbing wall for these little adventurers too.
My son had a blast. We got there just as they opened so there were only 4 other kids there, but the later it got, more kids started showing up so we had to be more observant of the running kids and potential troublemakers.
Some of these inflatables are pretty big so my son needed help getting himself over the slippery hills and steps. That meant me getting up and into one of these inflatables. Whew! I had a work out. Slippery slopes/​kid sized steps in stocking feet is work!
The people working there seemed nice, although I wish they welcomed us newcomers with a bit of info too – where the bathrooms are, where we hang up coats, where we leave our shoes, how the play area works or just simply – if I had any questions. I had read enough info from an on-​line mom’s group to know how it works, but still… customer service goes a long way.
So for you drop-​in newbies:
Pay at the desk, sign the waiver.
Hang coats on the coat racks that do not have an assigned party time RSVP listed.
Leave shoes, diaper bags on the shoe cart/​trolley right inside the room.
Bathrooms are behind the sign-​in desk, right by the door to Room 1.
They allowed us to have snacks/​juice inside the activity room (I asked the attendant) and there are benches chairs inside the rooms where you can take a break.

We just hosted our daughter’s 5^th birthday party at this location, and we couldn’t have had a better experience! From the first time we stopped in to check it out, through the wonderful staff helping to pack up leftovers, this place knows how to throw a party! On top of that, the location is extremely clean and well-​organized.

One word — Wow!
My 3yo attended his very first ‘real’ birthday party on yesterday. The birthday boy was turning 4.
We decided to make it a family event, so we took the 17 month with us, too.
Geesh! Those kids had an absolute blast! They were so tuckered out, they were both asleep before we got onto St. Charles Road! No Joke.
I would have to say that the pricing structure would definitely have scared me off, originally. But, having been to a party and seen how well they are done — I’m sold.
Lemme tell you… first of all, they had a coat rack for us to hang out coats. So, no lugging about all your belonging.
Then, kids under 2 are FREE. I’m all about saving $$$.
And, they have a birthday bin for you to deposit your gift. It’s like they have thought of everything.
They have this rolling shoe thing so you can put your shoes in the cubby and sit your diaper bag on top, and not have to worry about watching them. Plus, they have hand sanitizer and tissues readily available. No trekking back and forth to the rest room to clean hands and noses and drool!
Now for the best part — the party is self-​contained. You have your very own party room, so that your kids are playing with only the kids from the party. So, basically, they know everyone and feel free to run and play without being shy or the fear of some 8 yo jumping on top of ‘em. I loved that.
They have two seperate rooms with different inflatables. So, after about 40 minutes, they line the kids up and march them to the next room. Brand new fun awaits! They even have little cozy cars for the younger tikes to «ride».
Once again, no worries about the shoes and diaper bags. One of the workers just wheels the show cart thingy into the next room! No need to gather your stuff… or the kids, really. Just follow them in line!
They had a great time playing in the bouncy houses. Both of ‘em. I thought that it would be too much for the 17month old, but nope! It was perfect! Of course, she had to be supervised and assisted by us, but I count that as a free workout for me this week!
Pizza was plentiful. Nothing to write home about, but they weren’t stingy with it. (Not sure if there was a surcharge or extra purchased to help out or not.)
Then there is a big inflatible chair for the birthday child to sit and enjoy the birthday song.
My 3 yo was a little disappointed that they didn’t open ‘his present’ at the party. There isn’t time built in for this. Instead, they package the gifts in extra large bags for the birthday child to open at home. Kinda a let down — this is most people’s favorite part of a birthday party… outside of the cake!
If ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’, then the employees here are definitely angels! I was impressed. No dust bunnies here. There aren’t conspicuous signs about their sanitation process here, but clearly they clean up well. Unlike that ‘primate-​named inflatable place’ over in Glen Ellyn. I’m just sayin…
But, don’t expect them to interact with the kids and stuff. Nope. They are just high schoolers who stand there and move the kids to the next room, when appropriate. Parents def have to police the kids, themselves. Nothing wrong with that, though. That’s our job, anyway.
Anyway, we all had a great time! I’m usually totally against being a copy-​cat when it comes this things like this, but… we might be pulling a ‘ditto’ in a few months!

I took my son here for a party. Its basically a building full of bouncy houses. My son, 2 ½ yrs had fun.
I had to help him in and out of the houses and make sure the bigger kids didn’t run him over. I would suggest different rooms for the smaller kids. Also, socks should be required. Overall, my son did have fun and it is a place I would consider having a party for him, once he’s a little older.

I am sure for kids this is very fun. For parents, not so much. Nothing like loud music, sweaty smelly kids, crazy lighting and jumpy things. My daughter was invited to a birthday party here which was nice. Two jumpy rooms (my daughter LOVED the climbing wall), cake, pizza and soda for everyone. There were a lot of kids at the party and the party room for food was really crowded — especially with a bunch of parents milling around. This place could use a place for parents to go during all the hoopla — preferably a quiet place.

Hands down, the easiest party that I have ever thrown.
Ever since my son was old enough to speak, he has made a huge deal about his birthday. I’m not talking about receiving gifts, I mean he actually wants to be involved in the party planning! It totally cracks me up as the conversation always starts right after Christmas.
This year he insisted upon Spider-​man. We spent months compiling lists of party places, bookmarking Spider-​man party supplies, and where to buy Spider-​man themed candies and treats for goody bags. Being that it was his 5^th birthday, I decided to have a Spider-​man impersonator surprise him and his guests.
Pump It Up was the only logistic party location that I could bring a Spider-​man impersonator without disrupting other guests. We had been to a birthday party at this location before so I had an idea of how the party would be run. My only complaint about the facility is that in the hotter summer months, the scent of socks and feet are overwhelming.
Pump It Up far surpassed my expectations. We were assigned 3 party coordinators. I seriously did not have to lift a finger. Upon checking in, I simply had to hand one of the party organizers all of our party goods, treat bags, cake, sit back and relax. They had a huge cart in front labeled with my son’s name where guests could drop off gifts.
Two of the party organizers then take the children into the first arena for 40 minutes of jumping and sliding on giant inflatables. They provide a rolling cart with cubbies for shoes, jackets, and purses that are wheeled to each room that your party is in. At the end of the 40 minutes, they are then led into another play arena for another 40 minutes of playtime complete with a climbing wall. During this time, I was asked to check the party room and see if it met my approval. Our Spider-​man decorations, plates, cups, napkins and treat bags were already set up for me. A separate buffet table was set up for the adults and another for the birthday cake. PAINLESS!
After 80 minutes of playtime, the party organizer arranged the children for group pictures. They then led the group to the party room for pizza, cake and beverages. They timed it perfectly for Spider-​man to appear and sing Happy birthday to my son.
This was absolutely the easiest and funnest birthday party that I have ever thrown. For once, I was able to enjoy and observe. I didn’t have to sweat the small stuff. They even bagged all of his presents and provided a cart for us to wheel everything to our car at the end of the party.
I highly recommend hosting a birthday party at Pump It Up. It is great to have the facility to yourself where you do not have to share it with strangers. The pizza was amazing, and additional pizzas only cost $ 20 each. You can also order your balloon bouquets here to avoid the hassle beforehand. The staff and manager here were incredible.
P. S. Some things to consider.
The staff shows the children a Do and Don’t Safety video before the party begins. Your kids won’t pay attention. Be sure that you talk to them about keeping exposed skin such as arms and backs off of the rubber equipment while sliding as much as possible. Rubber burns are just as painful as rug burns.
