Clarion Inn Elmhurst – Oakbrook

I am the owner of a video production company and I had 2 of my mobile video production crew members stay at this hotel for one night, last minute and they woke up in the morning covered in disgusting bites! These pictures are of two different people. I am so disgusted that this happened to my people. I seriously caution you before you think about booking at this hotel.
2−8−16 update:
I have been so busy, I have not been able to update this review. At first when I posted this we didn’t get contacted for a couple of days. We had to reach out to them because we were so upset. Then when they saw the reviews they started calling /​emailing asking what they could do to make it right. We asked for them to reimburse us for the rooms we paid for and they did. My employees asked to be reimbursed for the pest control they had to call as well as their copay for their doctor visit and they did. They asked numerous times for me to bring this review down and I said I would not. However I wanted them to provide proof that they rectified the bed bug problem. So the hotel did hire pest control to come in and do whatever it is they do to remove bed bugs. They just emailed me again today to ask me update this review. They tried to fix it after the fact. That is better than not doing anything at all but I will never stay there again.

Here is an experience I have to share about this hotel. I usually don’t write many reviews but I do like to give credit where it’s due.
First of all I wanna thank Pritesh for his extraordinary service for me and 16 of my staff members that stayed at his hotel. The rooms were so nice, hotel staff was extremely friendly, food was amazing and most of all the over all experience was very positive. Not a single negative thing to say about this place.
When I look at certain people writing negative reviews on here and I would like to say that I don’t agree with any of them. My staff and I have been using this hotel for almost 2 years now and we have never had a negative experience. It’s family oriented environment where they take extra good care of you.
Hats off to the owner again. Thank you guys for always being not just good but OUTSTANDING. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Try it out, u won’t regret it.

Don’t stay here if you can avoid it. Three weeks after we stayed at this hotel I noticed the hotel charged me extra fees. After calling the hotel and speaking with the front desk clerk who was very rude, I was told that we were charged for smoke residue found in the room. My husband and I do not smoke nor did anyone smoke in our room. There was a large engagement party that weekend with many individuals staying at the hotel with the same last name as us but the hotel refused to even consider that it could have been a mix up. Our friends who had their engagement there called the hotel manager to discuss and he never called back. I am now forced to call corporate and try to dispute with my credit card company. This was by far the worst hotel customer service experience I’ve ever had.

The hotel has a nice main lounge area and the pool is nice too.
Two complaints. This hotel is more expensive than others in the area, but it offers no complimentary anything, no breakfast, no fresh baked cookies, nada, and the internet speeds are so poor, I had to sit with my laptop by the door in order to stream anything.

Upon entering, I noticed that their lobby was more elegant-​looking than what the exterior suggests. The staff was welcoming when we checked-​in (and when we eventually checked-​out) and were very accommodating.
It’s two floors of rooms with stair access, but no elevator — but that wasn’t a problem for us. Entering the room, things were cleaner than expected. We got the rooms with 2 queen beds, which was very spacious. It was a good price given the fact that we booked it literally hours before arriving.
The bed was nice and comfortable and the A/​C was perfect (especially after driving a whole day in the heat). What a great stop for us before continuing our road trip back to the east coast!
It’s not luxurious, but it’s fairly priced for the slightly above quality rooms. They get brownie points for having a mini-​café (Bistro C) in their lobby. The toasted croissant with egg came with your choice of meat and cheese and tots on the side. The hearty meal was such a good start to my day.
Now, onwards to our next stop!

It’s a really nice place! But you have to be careful because they will charge a lot of fees on your card ! They did it to me and my friend they charged us 1600 in total at both of out cards I’m still fighting to get my money back! really disappointed!

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! This place was a joke at check in! I booked the honey moon suite after I called to book the family suite & it was booked already. I was advised that I could have a small bday gathering here, just no djs allowed. Well that was fine. When we arrived for check in the front desk rep was VERY RUDE & said the party wouldn’t be allowed they have a no noise ordinance after 10pm. I spoke with the manager who said things wouldn’t be an issue. Once my guests started arriving things went downhill. Security comes banging on the door & the front desk calls. Security says they spoke 2 the 3^rd shift manager who says its ok, but the ANOTHER front desk agent begins to harrass us. At that point we decided to vacate the room. Me & a guest checked out. They also wouldn’t refund my money & charged & unauthorized amount. So I’ll be dealing with my bank to get my money. THIS PLACE IS CRAP!

So, this place has 4.5 stars? Before staying here, this gave me hope that my 5 day/​4 night stay would be flawless for my best friends wedding… After staying here… it means one of three things — 1) these reviewers were paid and the reviews are fake … 2) most reviewers are basing their ratings on the banquet facilities and not on the hotel itself (which by reading them, a lot of them do)… or 3) things have DRASTICALLY gone downhill between all other reviews and this past weekend. Something tells me that it’s not due to #3.
Anyways, two of my best friends had their 5 day long Hindu/​Catholic wedding festivities at Waterford Banquet Center and had of course planned on having everyone stay at the connecting Clarion Inn. When one friend and I arrived, the other two friends staying in our room informed us that the room we originally had smelled like there was apparent water damage, mildew, and was unacceptable to stay in. The front desk moved us into another room — which smelled horrible, but according to our friends was much better than the original room. Everyday, the lobby would tell us we had to move since that room was already booked. We were all a part of the wedding party and had packed schedules everyday and NO time to be repacking our things and moving rooms. Especially since this was the hotels fault to begin with. Keep your property clean and up to standards and you won’t have this issue. In addition to our rooms, a group of our friends stayed in a room that LITERALLY smelled like smoke and homeless people who don’t shower– I could not spend more than 3 minutes in this room and don’t know how they stood staying there.
The BEST part of the weekend was after the reception when we all decided to grab alcohol (like we had done every night) from walmart and bring it back to the hotel. Our friends were stopped by security and the front desk worker and were told that they couldn’t bring alcohol into the hotel (if they checked IDs they would see that the youngest person in our group was 25 years old). Everyone told the hotel personnel that this had not been an issue prior and no hotel has ever had this issue before. We were all informed that this was a new policy due to people being disruptive (fun fact? the entire hotel was people from the wedding). At this point, our friends asked for the general managers name and number so they could call them the next day regarding this policy. The front desk worker apparently called them, spoke to them, but would not give us any information — not even names. professional? definitely. not. Everyone was talking pretty calmly, but we were asked to return to our rooms for being «disruptive». So, we went. (fun fact #2? we’re all health care professionals, not rowdy 21 year olds). Then we were told that we couldn’t be in each other’s rooms and to just go back to where we were sleeping since max occupancy was 6 to a room. I did not realize my friends picked a dorm for us to stay at with a curfew and I DEFINITELY did not realize this place turned Dry on Sunday nights. The best part of all of this, we were not loud, did not get noise complaints, nor did we do anything wrong the entire weekend.
The hotel grounds itself seemed relatively dirty — In addition to stenches throughout the hotel, the parking lot was horrendous! It’s nice that free parking is offered, but I’d rather be charged and NOT have a parking lot full of crater sized potholes that legit can damage cars.
The staff personalities were mixed. The housekeepers were very friendly. The people working in the lobby were mixed. The lady on Friday was persistent and annoying about having us move rooms, but was professional, which was absolutely appreciated. The guy working the front literally YELLED at me while I was waiting for him to make me keys. Apparently, I was being loud while he was on the phone? Do you KNOW how to not throw a tantrum and calmly ask someone to keep their voice down? If not, you probably shouldn’t work in a setting where you interact with a lot of people on a daily basis…
The bistro was nice to have — the employee there was friendly on Monday morning. The food was clearly old (he warmed up my croissant, but you could tell it was old and stale). The beverages were priced as they would be at any hotel — no complaints here.
Another positive was that the honeymoon suite was gorgeous. Spacious, 2 floors, granite countertops, kitchenette area, etc. The banquet facilities were nice as well.
but worth it for all the other negatives of the hotel??? absolutely not. Sorry, won’t be having my wedding here and I know quite a few others that would agree.
If you do, I suggest staying offsite, or staying in the honeymoon suite and spending your/​their money wisely and having your guests stay offsite.
I know the managers reads these– we are very interested in seeing this policy and learning how informed the host families were of this policy. Please contact me via message regarding this. Thanks

Horrible experience! I was staying at this hotel for my friend’s wedding. I stayed Saturday and Sunday night. Upon arrival I entered my room and the smell of old cigarette smoke was strong. My friends were staying next door and their room also had an odorous smell! The room was non-​smoking but it didn’t smell like it. I decided not to request a room switch since I had a connecting room. On top of our smelly room, I called the front desk to request 2 luggage racks and more towels. The employee responded by asking me to find housekeeping down the hall or to come up to the front desk. I’ve stayed at a decent amount of hotels and I’ve never been asked to do that. We also found some small red stains on the sheets which looked like blood. The staff did come immediately to change.
The worst part was the security after the wedding. The reception ended at 12:00, part of the bridal party and friends stayed out in the courtyard afterwards. The security did ask us to leave which is understandable because of the noise level. We the entered the lobby and decided to have a few people buy some alcohol from across the street. Once they can back security told us we could not take it back to our room. It was absolutely ridiculous, there was alcohol at the wedding and everyone was between the ages of 25 – 30. The security guards were inappropriate, two of the standing at the sides of the doorway leading to our rooms. I’ve never been treated so poorly! I will never stay here again even if I have friends greeting married at the conference center. The only positive experiences were at the wedding ceremony and reception themselves.

I’m staying here for a week and so far it’s been a great stay the front desk manager Raminta is really friendly has been great help !! I would recommend this hotel.

This place is a hidden gem in the Chicagoland area. Connected to the Clarion Inn, it offers a beautiful function area along with modern rooms including a family suite (with full kitchen) and a honeymoon suite (with a Jacuzzi!).
The food is through India House and is nothing short of amazing, We had 2 functions there (Friday mehndi and Sunday reception) and Pritesh worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted in the way of food, decoration, bridal suites and a discounted room block rate.
They specialize in Indian/​Pakistani events but during our weekend there we saw events of all sorts.
Arvin handled our planning needs and was a key advisor for every facet of both functions. You can tell he knows his stuff and has suggestions that will really guide you through the stressful task of planning a wedding! We had 2 tastings at the India House restaurants and Barbara was there to walk us through the food and bring us different choices based on our likes and dislikes. She was absolutely instrumental in making sure we had the food we wanted!
Once onsite, some other key players also really stood out for us. Besides Arvin, Raminta handled our room block with expertise by making honoring pretty much any changes and requests with lightning speed. She was available over phone or email and was able to ensure that our room block was up to date and accurate at any given time. Veronica was our banquet captain, and she and her staff were excellent throughout each event. We especially appreciated the help of Manuel, who was able to help with pretty much anything we needed and was always checking up on my bride and I to make sure we were fed and watered through each event.
Overall the food, venue, and sleeping rooms are great here at Waterford, but anyone can construct those things. The real exceptional piece here is the staff that Pritesh has assembled and how they all work together to go above and beyond to make your special event the best one ever.

We attended our car club award banquets here and it was the worst event ever! The food was mediocre at best, it was served family style and we ran out of food. When we asked for more mashed potatoes we were told it would take 20 minutes because they had to «make» them. They were instant potatoes! How do they take 20 minutes? The service was horrible. We were to we couldn’t have decaf coffee because it wasn’t ordered in advance. No one came to refill water glasses during the entire evening. We had to go to the bar if we wanted water. I would never recommended this place!

Great customer service from from office to back. Great place to host any events. Great food.

We stayed here for a weekend convention (2 nights) with many people from all over the US. The rooms, conference halls, and food catered, were all excellent. The service from the hotel staff was absolutely great. I would recommend this Hotel and Convention center for any small or large conventions.

This was an enjoyable hotel stay for me. I think I lucked out because it was not very populated at the time of my stay, so it was nice and quiet.
The room, bedding, and bathroom were all clean as a whistle. Ambiance of the room was pretty nice, the ergonomic desk chair was really comfortable, and the shower was hot and had good water pressure.
The bedding, as far as hotels go, was quite comfortable! I really liked the mattress, sheets, comforter, etc. and the whole room passed my stringent cleanliness inspection. The bedding was very cozy, clean and I got a great night’s rest.
The location is good in that it is out of the way, it’s not next to any noisy highways or anything.
There is a large convention center attached. When I stayed, there was nothing happening so I lucked out in that regard. Maybe if you are looking for a quiet night, call ahead and make sure there isn’t some crazy shit going on.
I didn’t get a chance to check out any of the other amenities. There weren’t any cool video games or anything. Pretty good room for the money.

My husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Waterford on 11−11−11 — we were lucky enough to score this great venue before anyone else did! Pritesh and Arvin were very helpful and attentive, both during the planning process, and during our wedding day. We got so many compliments on everything from how nice the venue itself is, to the food and great service from the banquet staff, and I’m very pleased with how well we and our ~150 guests were taken care of.
The wedding went very smoothly, and everyone had a great time. Our head-​table server was very nice, and made sure our top tier of our cake would be waiting for us the next morning (we stayed in the adjoining hotel, as did many of our guests). I also had a couple guests with food allergies that they were able to accommodate without a problem.
Compared to other hotel-​venues that we visited, I feel we got a great value for our money; the packages are all-​inclusive and easy to cater to your needs and wants. I’m so, so happy we chose the Waterford for our wedding and would recommend it to any couple for their wedding.

Excellent Hotel and Convention Center! The hotel is super clean and nice and modern looking. I stayed for almost a week and loved it. I came for a wedding and every event was amazing. The staff was really great and polite. HIGHLY recommended!

This place is absolutely beautiful. I went on a business trip & spent three days & two nights there, a couple of weeks ago! OMG! This place is nestled out side of Oakbrook Mall, by the way it is known as shoppers paradise. We were to busy to shop there though, maybe next time. My first impression of this hotel, is the reason for wanting to go back. I normally don’t do good sleeping away from home, but this place is very elegant. It has a Feng Shui concept, which I totally admire mixed with an older oriental swing. Our room had two full size beds & and a roll out bed. I entered the room & was just breath taken away. My business partner was very pleased too. I like the ritzy look it had. very well decorated with very expensive oil paintings on the walls. The bathroom was clean as a whistle & I like the seal on the toilet letting you know it was sanitized.
The only thing I didn’t like is because we got a corporate discount we had to pay extra for their continental breakfast, so we just ate at Panera bread every morning. I understand that our room would have been $ 300 per night w/​ot the discount but still! We still paid about $ 300 for two nights.
The Waterford Conference Center is just as fancy as the rest of the hotel. We were seated comfortably & had access to restrooms near by. There’s an Indian restaurant there to, but it was not opened yet. The pool area where the pool party was held was clean, but they had it extremely hot, it would be an anemic person’s most desired spot. So I didn’t stay too long for that part. The staff were very helpful. They didn’t go out of their way or anything, but that didn’t under deliver neither. If I happen to be doing business again in Illinois, I will love to stay at this place again!
