Great place for kids. It provides both fun and education about the animals. Very clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

I grew up in the area but never went to Enchanted Forest as a child. I think it’s so cool that the attractions from that park were restored and placed here. There are a lot hidden back in the woods that I think most people probably miss. I didn’t mind the entrance fee since I knew moving the attractions and restoring them was expensive! The animals were cute, the baby goats especially! I wish I could have held one. Bring quarters to buy feed for them! The only thing that bothered me was that I didn’t see a single person caring for the animals or monitoring interactions with them. :(

I don’t really get the allure of this place. I hear great reviews, but it’s extremely underwhelming. To be fair, I did visit when their spring season had just started; perhaps it’s always slower then?
You don’t really get much for $ 6.00 per person, considering everything inside the park costs money as well. The $ 6.00 is pretty much just to look at things, I suppose. I’m unsure as to why they call the whole thing a petting farm. Maybe I’m alone in this, but when I think of a petting farm, I think of a place where you can walk amongst the animals and pet them. Here, there’s only one small area to do that, and there are only a couple animals in there at a time. The rest of the animals are in pens and can only be touched through a fence.
Otherwise, there just isn’t a ton to do besides let the kids run around and climb on things. You can do that for free at most parks. It just wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Really fun Autumn times. Pumpkin patch, hay ride, petting zoo, and dinosaur park we a big hit with the littles.

This place was magical.
But in a ridiculous «why are there velociraptors next to a giant teacup in the woods» kind of way.
Doesn’t make sense? Just go see for yourself.

We took our kindergarteners on a field trip here and had a wonderful experience! We were checked in quickly and they were fully prepared for our arrival. Our tour guides were friendly and fun, they really engaged the kids! We enjoyed every moment of our trip and will certainly book again in the future!

This is a great place to visit! It has been very thoughtfully created and includes something for everyone — and lots of educational info too. I also like the fact that Clark’s Elioak Farms has made the pricing for entry and activities so affordable for families — you can spend hours there! This allows more families to come and come more often.

My 4 yo loved this place. So much to do see and explore. All of the enchanted forest pieces were cool. We pet the animals, played on the equipment, rode the pony. There were hayrides and a cow train also. Wonderful day we will be back!

Heard so much about this farm and expected a little bit more than it is. Petting zoo?! I doubt it can be called so and entrance fee of $ 6 is unreasonable!!! Drove an hour to get there but got very disappointed and left in 10 min Even farm stand has only tomatoes corn frozen meat! If you’d like eggs come on tue or Friday at 10 am
I think play ground or Baltimore zoo is just much more fun for my little kids!!!

Clark’s Elioak Farm is perfect for the toddler crowd. We live nearby and have really been enjoying our membership this year with our 18 month old. I’m not great at math, but I believe we had to go to the farm about 7 times in 2015 to make the membership worth the money. We’ve already been 4 times and its only the beginning of July. Its great that they have lots of seasonal activities from early Spring thru Fall to keep things interesting.
Our son loves the animals. Your kids can actually go in an enclosed area with baby goats and chickens roaming freely. There are also sheep, ponies, pigs, turkeys, ducks, and even an emu! I am probably missing a few. The animals here seem to be very well taken care of. Bring quarters as they have food dispensers where you can feed the goats and sheep. Add ons are available I believe for $ 2 a person and include pony rides, a mini cow train (SO cute!) and a tractor ride.
There are multiple playground areas and slides, which are all pretty simple, but more interesting than your average playground since there are so many options to choose from. There is also some nice big open grass where you can just RUN, which is the first thing our son does when we get in there! We haven’t used it yet, but they do have a big pavilion with some toddler cars, play houses, etc. that kids seem to enjoy and parents can sit on a bench and take a break! I would say once kids turn 5 this place probably is not as exciting, but for the toddler crowd, it is definitely the place to be.

Pricey, but you can’t beat the entertainment for kids!

This was a fun place to bring my toddler. There is so much space that even though the parking lot was full, the farm itself did not feel crowded at all. Lots of activities, from visiting the animals to hay rides to pumpkin painting and of course, playing on the old Enchanted Forest pieces.
I think the $ 5pp entry fee was worth it but I wish they didn’t nickel and dime you on all the extras — a pony ride is $ 2, animal feed is 25 cents out of a little bubble gum style vending machine, etc. I also wish they had more areas in the shade — most of the fun stuff is right out in the hot sun, so bring lots of sunscreen and water and be prepared to take breaks.

We went for a birthday party. Unfortunately there was a light rain off and on all day so we couldn’t do all the activities but the kids had a great time. There was a petting zoo and food for the kids to feed the animals, a pony ride, houses from the enchanted forest and a playground. The staff was friendly and great with the kids.

I took my cousins, siblings, niece and nephew here on a Saturday to experience the farm life and it was a hit! They enjoyed playing with the animals, riding the horse, cow train and also the hayride. It was such an amazing day and the kids had tons of fun. They are already asking to come back!

A great place for my two and four year old. While it might seem small for an adult, I think it is big enough for them. I would recommend it for 5 and under.
This is my second time here and I am glad to see the place is still the same. The displays look painted and the grounds are well kept.
There is a hayride, a cow train, and a pony ride for an additional fee. My kids loved the cow train the best. The pony ride was only one turn on the track. They have a few slides and some equipment to climb on. There is a small petting zoo and few other animals in pens. There is/​was a forest maze, but they cut the bottom of the trees so there really isn’t a maze feel.
We were lucky enough to go on a weekend where they had gem mining. It was great a experience. Mr. Cummings was extremely nice. We got a great deal and came away with a lot of beautiful stones to look up at home. You can buy a bag of sand and use the water tables to sift through. There were a lot of large size stones. You also can purchase a geode to crack.
There are snacks and Popsicle/​ice cream. I suggest you bring a lunch. There are plenty of tables. They do have hand washing stations, but they only have port-​a-​potties. There were a few birthday parties as well.

My mom, 18 month old son, and I came here for Mother’s Day. I was excited to see the Enchanted Forest pieces and was hoping my son would get to safely run around (we live in a town home without a yard). It was MORE than i imagined.
After checking out all of the old displays (a little creepy if you aren’t familiar with the history), taking the hay ride and doing the cow train we had been there for two hours and had to leave to get lunch. Had I know long we would be there we would have packed a lunch and made a full day of it.
I highly recommend this place for active little ones (1.5−5), older kids would be bored. We will def be back to check out the petting farm and maze. A good idea for a fairly inexpensive family day.
For those saying it wasn’t what you expected or was too expensive… you probably don’t have young children and probably never go out because in this area it is merely impossible to do anything under $ 5/​person!

I understand Clark Elioak Farms holds sentimental value to many of the reviewers giving this place 3 stars or more, however, sadly Clark’s just isn’t deserving. I’ve experienced much better in the past and within other areas in MD. Unfortunately safety and cleanliness of the petting areas was a major concern.

What a fantastic spot for families and people looking to relive the Enchanted Forest.
Never heard of The Enchanted Forest? It was a fairly tale themed amusement park in MD that opened in the 50s, closed in the 80s, reopened around 91 but then closed again. Watch the John Waters film ‘Cry Baby’ and you’ll catch some of it in there. The park sat abandoned next to a Safeway shopping center for years. Old King Cole stood outside, pointing to an abysmal and creepy theme park admits the modern day hustle and bustle.
However Clark’s removed most of the pieces, restored them, and put them on display for kids of all ages to enjoy again! There’s even an awesome petting zoo (emus! Bunnies! Goats!) a beautiful pine tree maze, and a pumpkin patch. There plenty of picnic table and spots for multiple birthday parties. I don’t have kids, but when I do I will bring thm here!

For a cheap children’s attraction on the edge of suburban Columbia, you can’t go wrong with Clark’s Elioak Farms. Some people may be disappointed or think it’s ripoff, but they’re probably the same stingy, stuck-​up people you don’t want there anyway. Clark’s harkens back to an era when kids were amused by the simplest of things, providing an open, fun environment for the rugrats to run free and get rid of all that energy. Clark’s is a farm that hosts several different things for young children: Fairy tale displays, a petting zoo, a pine tree maze, farm rides, play areas, and picnic tables.
The fiberglass fairy tale displays were saved from a 1950s theme park, called «Enchanted Forest», that closed decades ago. Although a bit creepy, children are still enamored with them and they are an interesting aspect of Maryland history. A few areas are there to climb on, but mostly they’re there to look at.
The petting zoo consists of a number of fenced areas where the animals can lay in, like a typical zoo. They often come to the fence, especially the smaller ones, so you can feed or touch them. There is also an area with chickens and goats that you can walk in, and let your kids interact with the animals in there.
The play area consists mostly of fiberglass or wooden slides and climbing equipment. There is a smaller kid playing area, fenced in with lots of toys, where parents can take a break. Similarly, there are large areas of open grass for the kids to run around and go crazy in.
Picnic tables abound, although many can be taken by reserved birthday parties. The entry area is also a small shop, where you can purchase drinks and snacks. I recommend bringing your own, though, just to save on money.
We did not visit the pine tree maze. There was also a small train that took little kids around a field we didn’t use. We did use the hay ride, and it was a short, but pleasant trip; there is nothing major about it, no talks about the area, just a quiet ride through woods and fields.
To the dissenters, it’s a mere $ 5 per person (adult or child) and kids under 1 get in free. I beg you to find a cheaper area, short of going to your local playground. At least here, you have tons of different things to see and do at your fingertips and don’t have to worry about shady characters hanging out there. Well, except for the fiberglass displays… those three bears are pretty creepy…

Cool, beautiful rural-​looking place on the edge of suburbia. I have known about the petting zoo for a while but never have had a good excuse to go. (Grown woman on her own at a petting zoo would be too sad for even me to attempt.)
Today I found out they have a nice little fruit and veg stand on the property. Most of the produce is grown right on the farm. What isn’t is local (at least it was today). They also have a «pick-​your-​own-​flowers» flower bed. Pretty, nice for walking and a great idea for dates!
