Karen Leder represented me for several years during my lengthy divorce. From the first consultation-​which was free– her compassion stood out from the other lawyers i had consulted with. She was a knowledgeable rock during a very difficult time-​she calmly layed out a plan of action which was eventually successful. My only regret is that i didn’t follow her recommendations to the letter from the beginning she was right on point in her original assessments! Karen went to bat for me every time in court with great skill, strength and determination. I found her to be extremely honest and reliable. Her prices were very reasonable and she went above and beyond in making my legal fees manageable. Karen genuinely cared about my situation and my family– on my last day of court. her primary concern was for my future and finding ways to achieve my career goals. Karen’s dedication to her clients is priceless. She is a lawyer you want in your corner.

Folks, going through a divorce is NEVER fun. It’s rediculously confusing and gets even stupider when the other party doesn’t have legal representation. I am sure all of you reading can understand the frustration.
Karen, from the first consult, has been amazingly supportive and always been upfront when guiding me through the «legalities». What was supposed to be a fairly simple divorce (oxymoron), became nasty when it came to custody battle ensued after the other party abandoned the child. Karen showed up and truly fought for the child’s best interest and what was in my best interest.

When going through a divorce, having an attorney that will help you and guide you through a difficult time is key. This is exactly what you will not receive from Karen Leder. She is unresponsive, expensive and provides very little guidance. You have to call her to find out what’s next and how to further proceed. And even then, it would take several days to get a return call.
This attorney is not very knowledgeable. She does not know anything when dealing with laws and the rights that a spouse has to a federal retirement and misinformed us about tax issues.
Her retainer was $ 4k. After only meeting with her 2 times for about an hour. A hand full of phone calls, and yes, she filed for the divorce, but just that went through $ 3k. This lady charges $ 75 for a phone call even if it lasts 3 min. After all this, we went with another lawyer. You’ve been warned! Beware!

I was divorced in 2013, but my ex-​husband recently decided to take me back to court in an effort to get his child and spousal support payments lowered and to seek more custody. I needed a great attorney for a price that I could afford. Karen represented a coworker of mine in her divorce and my coworker insisted that I retain Karen in my dispute and gave me her number. She went on and on about how great Karen was in court and how much she helped her and really cared about her case. I could tell by talking to her on the phone that I really liked her. I had spoken to another attorney before that and was not impressed at all. Her consultation was very brief and she barely asked me any questions. Karen’s was very different. She went above and beyond to calculate numbers for me, and asked me a lot of questions so that she could understand my situation. She is no nonsense and knows exactly what she is doing.
I am confused by the reviews that say she is money hungry because I have experienced the exact opposite. Her retainer is half the price of my previous divorce attorney and her hourly rate is $ 100 less. I have never seen anything on the bill that shouldn’t be there. I would highly recommend Karen Leder for anyone going through a divorce or custody situation. She is amazing and I am lucky to have someone as smart and experienced as her in my corner!

A while back, I needed a family law attorney. Not knowing where to look, I asked my business attorney if he knew of someone. He said, «Hands down, the best Family Law Attorney in Sacramento is Karen Leder», as he’s known her for years and practiced against her when Karen practiced other areas of Law — this will greatly benefit you. Since retaining Karen, she has listened, explained the law (which we might not always like), she’s not afraid to make you look at yourself, stands tall against opposing counsel and will compassionately work in your best interest! With former wife that wanted me to have less than 25% custody of our 3 children, Karen worked to earn ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ custody. Additionally, myself owning a small business, she negotiated a fair settlement.
I don’t recommend divorce, however if it needs to end, you want Karen Leder representing you.

Don’t hire her. She will drop you as a client after the retainer runs out. Don’t give her your credit card number or she will continue to bill. Pay cash or check. Very disorganized office. Rude and phony.

Please do not select this woman to be your attorney. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a bad person she is. I took my baby daddy to court and filed for physical and legal custody and he hired her as his attorney. Prior to filing for custody, baby daddy wasn’t in the picture since my Son was a newborn. Then one day, he took off with my six month old and wouldn’t tell me where he was.
Anyway, so he and his family hired this woman. She not only ensured and advised baby daddy to not let me see my Son for 19 days until the court reached their decision, but also lied in court and tried to prevent me from even having custody of him. Mind you, I was raising this child on my OWN prior to this incident. She slandered me in court, using my past and financial stability as a reason why I make an «unfit Mother». One day, she told my attorney that she will give me back my child if I agreed to let her call my relatives to verify my Son had been living with me the entire time, so I agreed. They verified this, and she DIDN’T KEEP TO HER WORD. She tried to then do a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ split!!!
When I called her Law Firm to ask her to advise baby daddy to let me see my son, her daughter, Jill Shubert, answered the phone and was really rude, saying I am legally not allowed to speak with Karen. Mind you, this is a 6-​month-​old baby we’re talking about whom I had been breastfeeding and hadn’t seen (not even pictures!!!) for a few weeks!!! I figured since she spoke to my relatives and was advising baby daddy to not let me SEE my child, that she would be the only person to talk to. Nope.
Anyway, in the long-​run, I got a new attorney who actually knew Karen and how she worked in the courtroom. He knew she was a bad apple and fought for me and I got full physical and legal custody. While in court, she would get angry and cut off the judge while he was speaking. Judges DON’T LIKE HER.
When it comes to the professional relationship between baby daddy and Karen – he informed me that she overcharged him – blew through the retainer fees – and then DROPPED him as a client because he made her look bad.
All in all, she is not a good person!!! she takes advantage of people and doesn’t care what the TRUTH is. As LONG AS YOU PAY HER, SHE WILL SAY AND DO WHATEVER SHE HAS TO.

do not use her as your attorney. scam artist. overbills her clients. does not care about clients… only about making a profit.

I would not suggest her she is not reliable she promises the can do somthing then she soesn’t deliver. You can never speak to her.
