La Michoacana

The place is clean and the ladies work hard. However, you can tell that they are eager to get out of there. I don’t blame them seems like alot of work. They get 3 stars from me because everytime I get there in the evening they are always out of corn!!! So frustrating there are no eloteros here! This is where I go to try to get my elote fix and they are out everytime I go after 9 pm. Today it was 9:30 and the door was locked I guess because they were mopping I know some ladies saw me and just ignored me. A guy did open the door after I was persistent. Ok so no elote… ok can I get some nachos… nope they threw the cheese away and cleaned out the pot. Ok so how much are the doritos by themselves? 2.42… whaaat no thanks.

Paleta flavors galore, almost too many to choose from. All ice creams and bars made with fresh fruit. Great any time of year.

Amazing amazing amazing, will come back again for sure if I’m in the area. Hope to discover this in Cali.

The best ice cream around wish I had known years ago (on second thought good thing I did not)

Visiting La Michoacana was like revisiting my old neighborhood in Chicago. As a kid, I used to love the paleteros walking down the block, ringing their distinctive bells. Back in the day, $ 0.50 or $ 1.00 would get you a yummy Mexican popsicle, or paleta and I lived for that as a kid.
La Michoacana sees your paletas, and raises you some nieves (ice cream), mangoneadas (mango sorbet with a hot, sour, salty, fruity topping), and freakin’ Cheetos with cheese. Crazy stuff that you won’t find anywhere else you can find at La Michoacana.
I visited with my family and we opted for the more traditional ice creams made with milk (they have ice cream with water too) and we had coconut, bubble gum, and vanilla & raisins (my favorite). Next time I’ll definitely try the paletas de crema (cream popsicles) with the huge chunks of fresh fruit inside.

Just tried this place, so many favors and staff was so helpful! Mango and some sort of red pepper ice cream/​gelato was sooooo good. Ended up going with chocolate pie ice cream. Fantastic.

They have Ferrero Rocher ice cream. Enough said right there. How come I have never seen this amazingness anywhere else? The last thing I got there was a Strawberry Agua Fresca which was sweet, milky, and had tons of fruit in it. I loved it. I took my husband and his brother here and now they want to go every week. Best Ice Cream close to home.

So tasty! Many flavors to try! Not just ice cream and popsicles. Also very friendly workers and glad to let you sample some.

Fresh fruit in ice cream. Unique flavors that you don’t find at Dairy Queen or Baskin Robbins. Reasonably priced.
