Holsum Bakery Outlet Store

Holsum Bakery does not exist anymore, they were taken over by Sara Lee, now Sara Lee has been bought out my Grupo Bimbo Foods from Mexico. The store is going out of business and will be closing Friday 12÷1÷32 013. Actually all remaining Sara Lee outlet stores are all closing 12/​13/​2013.

This outlet shop carries overstocked goods from Sara Lee and several other bakeries. They had a manger’s special which had non-​expired hotdog or burger buns in dozen or 18 packs for only $.79. Talk about a score!
In addition to the goodies for the BBQ, excellent deals were snagged on whole wheat bread and pastries. Carb city here we come. At least some of them were complex carbs, right?
The only reason why I didn’t give this place five stars is because they have a small selection of items to choose from. A third of the store is completely empty or has near empty shelves, so your pickings may be hit or miss depending upon when you visit. Also, stay away from the non-​baked goods. $ 1.79 for a can of off-​brand olives? Please, I can get the name-​brand for $.99 on sale at Ultra Foods.
Those minor shortcomings aside, Holsum is a great place to snag your bakery deals on the cheap if you’re in the area.
