This was my first time ever trying Rubio’s. And I’ve gotta say. it’s average, at best. There wasn’t anything special about it, except for the fact that I got my burrito for free. I think they were doing some sort of promotion for a redesign of the restaurant interior. The salsa bar was average. The burrito size was average. They put way too many black beans. This was probably due to the amount of free burritos they needed to give out today. Great way for the company to make the burritos look bigger than life without having to fill the actual burrito with steak or chicken, which are probably their highest costs(meat). Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great. I don’t envision myself coming here again due to the variety of quality fast food restaurants in the immediate area where you can get more bang for your buck(In-N-Out and Chipotle to name a few).

Another example of how bad this location is. I called from my house 3 miles away to place an order and was placed on hold. Got to the restaurant and placed my order before the girl picked the phone back up. I then watched her walk away from the phone while I was in the restaurant still on hold. After she did I waited to see if she would go back to the call. She didn’t I let the girl taking orders since I already placed my order you can let her know to take me off hold. The girl looked at me puzzled walked over to the phone saw the hold button blinking and turned it off. Never said sorry never said anything to the other girl who put me on hold. Not sure who trained these people but they should

Pretty good if your looking to eat healthy fish tacos. I got the Mahi Mahi grilled fish tacos and they were alright a lil skimpy on the fish but great if ur on a diet.

Rubio’s has completely changed. The sauces are not the same. The entire menu is new. It doesn’t have the habanero laced tacos anymore. Boo hoo.

I only stopped by here because I was in a hurry and it seemed fast. Turns out they have really great, fresh salads here. I’ve been back a couple times now. Highly recommend the blackened tilapia or mahi on your salad if you like that sort of thing.

This place only gets 2 stars because of the painfully slow service. Lines at lunch and dinner can go out the door only because the people working the cash register are super slow. They almost never run both registers even when people are waiting forever in line. Every few months they will get a new person at the cash register and they are always very very slow. The manager needs to step up and work to take orders on the second register. The food is great and the salsa is great. I’ll keep coming here to eat because the location is convenient and the food is yummy but I hate the SLOWSLOWSLOW service.

Just spent 10 minutes waiting for someone to take my order despite being the only person in line. There were a few others in the restaurant but nothing that would be considered a big order that should have taken everyone away from the front service area. I know they get busy at lunch here, but to come in at this time and get blown off was unacceptable.

Overall the employees here totally get the concept of problems are just opportunities, but especially Ashanna, who is one of the most hardworking, efficient, friendly, and professional service employees I’ve ever seen anywhere. Based on several visits. One star off for the awful prices, which I’m sure is based more on the real estate/area/what the traffic will bear than actual food costs.

Came here Monday around lunch and beat the lunch rush. Nonetheless, service was painfully slow. I ordered the baja steak burrito(about $ 8) which was OK but pretty basic. The steak itself was very tasty but the burrito itself was small and bland. It came with a side of chips. There was a very clean looking salsa bar where you could help yourself. There was a chipotle, tomatillo, mild and a spicy salsa, cilantro and onions, lemons, limes, jalapeños, and hot sauce. The salsa themselves tasted like paste and the tomatillo was runny. Overall the food was pretty basic but affordable. I enjoyed that they had a dog friendly outdoor seating area and that there was parking. Would go again but wouldn’t go out of my way.

Very slow service, half the employees looked very confused specially the cashier. Sat for 15 minutes did not get my food, I asked how long more manager said 20 minutes! 20 more minutes for a burrito! No thanks I said, then she said ok I will make it now. Got the burrito not enough chicken inside, felt like a huge tooth past tube with beans inside. Tables were not clean and dining area looked it was not attended for a while. Very disappointed.

The food here is consistently good and the flavors are good and natural. There’s not all the synthetic tasting ingredients you sometimes get at other mexican stops, especially fast food stops. The service is always excellent and Tony is very nice. He’s got a good team there and definitely leads by example. Everyone is always very kind and I’ve never had a bad service experience at Rubios El Segundo.

Rubios, oh Rubios. It’s basic Mexican food with a Baja Californian twist. There’s really nothing special except for two things. 1. The salsa bar is delightful, and offers a wide range of sauces to dress up a bland meal. 2. The supreme fish tacos are pretty good. The service is generally good considering all employees are friendly and strive to make your experience at least likable. However, friendly staff can only take a restaurant so far. Two stars for the aforementioned and minus three stars for authenticity, flavor, and ambiance. Happy eats Unilocalers!

This is a great location for Rubios. It is in a strip with all food vendors in the middle of a bunch of office buildings. They do a huge lunch business but the traffic is lighter at dinner. Rubios has great fish taco specials on Tuesdays for $ 1.50.

Excellent food with EXCELLENT service. I always come here for the best salmon tacos in town. The last time I was here, I had an issue with some tacos missing from my to-go order. I called to let the store know, and Amy told me that they would be glad to take care of it next time I stopped in. More than fair. WELL, about a week later I found the missing tacos behind the console of my truck. I called the store and apologized for the mixup. Amy said NOTTOWORRY, and that the next time I came in, they would still honor replacing my missing tacos, even though I was the one that misplaced them. SUREENOUGH, today when I stopped in for my salmon taco fix, Amy honored her promise. This is why Rubio’s is the successful enterprise that it is. … The BEST salmon tacos. The BEST service by the BEST people. Thanks again, Amy. Rubio’s is lucky to have you. And we’re all lucky to have Rubio’s!

DON’T GETFISHTACOSTOGO from here!!! Stopped by on the way to LAX and by the time we arrived at the airport maybe 10 – 15 minutes later, my 2 tacos, the Rubios original and the special one, around $ 3 each, were wet and soggy! Fish was not crunchy at all, and the even the tortilla wasnt good. Hubbys burrito held up a bit better but I took a bite and still didn’t like it. They also had a kick to it, which it didn’t say and I dont eat spicy. When we got there, they were about to close and cleaning up. Well, it smelled funky, like wet rags. Would not go back.

Between the three Rubio’s I usually frequent(El Segundo, Marina del Rey, and Howard Hughes Center) this location is my favorite location. The food here is always fresh, and they don’t skimp on the portions. I would recommend the grilled shrimp burrito here! Also, the employees are friendly, and the salsa bar as well as the restaurant is clean. It gets pretty busy during lunch, but if you come early you won’t run into that problem.
