Skipped all of the Mexican food places on the way back to airport since I remember seeing this place when I landed. Ordered the chicken chimi and it was pretty bland. Didn’t even fry it so it was pretty much a chicken burrito. Rice is bland and the salsa is lame. Have had better Mexican food in Maine which is pretty sad considering the border is a mile away from here!

Only one star because Unilocal makes you give it. Service is terrible never even got to order. I sat at the bar for 15 mins the bartender took every bodies order but mine, she never even acknowledged that I was there. Two groups came in that sat at tables beyond bar and she took their orders and never even asked me. Would not recommend any one going in this place

Horrible and over priced food. Half of our orders were ridiculously burnt, and the rest were undercooked.

I’m pretty sure everything in this restaurant is pre-made. Margarita appears to be mixed already. Food tastes like it just came out of the microwave. The onions are so rubbery, they won’t even cut with my fork. Sameness with the tortillas in the enchiladas. I wouldn’t be surprised if the plates are made in the morning, then reheated upon order given how quick the food came out. The taco was the only decent thing on the plate. Chips and salsa… meh.

Went last night and was not impressed usually when you have an hour wait, it suggests that the food is good. This was not the case with this place if it weren’t for the fact that we waited over an hour and we’re starving we would have went to chica tacos! The food was bland rice was dry and tasteless. I did however like the beans. I would not suggest this place to anyone a very dissapointed experience. Its unfortunate that places like this live off of reputation. My strong suggestions. Eat anywhere else.

All it takes to be a decent restaurant at an airport is portable food and a reasonably friendly staff. I don’t throw around one stars but I feel compelled to here. Burrito flowing over a small cocktail plate(get some boxes) and the woman with short gray hair was VERY impolite, especially when I requested a receipt. «Breakfast Burrito Chorizo» is a mouthful but not something you want to eat.

Overpriced, underperformed what they say is Mexican food. I m use to airport prices on food, I fly over 125k miles a year, but I was surprised at the relationship of food prices to quality of food or lack thereof. I had the steak ranchero, on what was suppose to be the last mexican food in the US for awhile, but I was totally disappointed. It started with the chips and salsa, the homemade chips was a good sign, the salsa was average but the chips were fresh from tortillas. When the steak ranchero came out, I was ready but the small piece of meat plus the lack of sauce was not a good sign. The meat was not good, and the sauce was bland, too much queso to mask the lack of cheese, totally not worth it. My work buddy had the chicken tortillas and he was not impressed either. I ate the small eatery inside the gate before, the breakfast burrito was small and bland as well.

This is one of my customers go to lunch spots. I have eaten here half a dozen times. They have a great variety of Mexican food and I have always enjoyed my entrée. There are lots of people running around, but sometimes you need to speak up to get service.

This place was recommended by several colleages as the place in El Paso to get a great margarita prior to your flight. They highly recommended the place for drinks but my friends were ambivalent about the food. I needed both: a drink and comforting enchiladas after a long business trip and ready to leave for home. I ordered the house margarita and the combo plate that included red chille beef enchiladas and a chicken taco. Judging the food by appearance, tenderness, and taste it excelled in all three categories. I really enjoyed my enchilada choice of fork tender beef in a spicy flavorful sauce. When the waiter took away my cleaned plate leaving my unfinished drink he said, «let me take this away so you can enjoy your dessert.» I was only half way through the margarita, finished a full plate of Mexican food, and buzzed. The margaritas are very good and strong and I thoroughly enjoyed this liquid dessert after my meal. What’s stopping me from giving this restaurant a five star review? It’s the flimsy packaging of a burrito to go order earlier in the week upon arrival to El Paso from the restaurant’s smaller outpost Carlos & Mickey Express located above in the terminal’s food court. Carlos, Mickey, and other restaurant staff need to order a burrito through a drive thru window of any of the cities taco stands and learn how a burrito should be packaged to go. It’s not placed on a foam round plate with a flimsy cover that does not seal the contents that can easily be spilled when bumped while also juggling luggage in the rent-a-car roped lines.

I never seem to remember how the food is due to their great Margaritas. Always a nice dinner experience with friends.

Great Friday night hang out! The live band was the best I’ve heard in a while. They played a variety for all guests. I only needed one margarita because it was so big and quite tasty! Will go back for dinner one day.

This was a reasonable airport restaurant. They have a variety of food ranging from salads to sandwiches to burgers. They do margaritas, but I wouldn’t say they are my favorite. Just so you know, Texas doesn’t serve alcohol till noon. That can be an inconvenience for weekend flyers. All and all everything is ok, just nothing to write home about.

Above average Mexican food with great margaritas and live music. They do have the best fajitas in town and top notch service. Not a bad place for a restaurant inside of an airport.

When people ask me what I think of this place, I would tell them the only thing good is or known for is their margaritas. Everything else is all because of its historical hypes. For some reason we always get put int the back, where the service is not too attentive. This place is another tourist trap I would say, all the done up, but as for the food, it is Tex-Mex below mediocre if ask me.

This review is for the Express location by the gates. I fly in and out of El Paso every week for work and have a habit of grabbing all carte tacos before hoping on the plane. However, today I was told they changed their system and no longer offer ala carte. The only option I have for chicken tacos is to get a combo which includes rice, beans and a drink. I don’t need rice and beans and I expecially don’t need a drink. So this was my last time eating here. I ordered the combo, didn’t bother to grab a cup and wasted a lot of food. It’s possible I could have ate the rice if it didn’t end up in the inside of the to go bag. You really should seal the container because by the time I got back to my chair, the rice spilled everywhere. Ask your cashier how many people he didn’t serve today because of the new combos. In the time I was waiting for my food, two different women chose to just walk away and I assure you, I won’t even bother dining here again(or any of your locations).

Carlos & Mickey’s… I am not a fan of their food or their prices. I know it’s in the airport where prices are jacked up. I also know that Carlos & Mickey’s is really the only sit down restaurant in the airport, besides the 12th Fairway, to eat at. There are not too many options in ELP’s Airport. So, 3 stars it is. I got their chicken fajitas and it was bland as can be. Price was around $ 20, which is a lot considering that I can get better fajitas at almost half this price. The chips were as stale as well. Not much going for Carlos & Mickey’s, in my opinion. For sure… I am avoiding this place in the future. I will give credit where credit is due. The staff is great. Frank was my server and he was attentive, professional, and seems to know when to check up on me. The lady that took me to my seat even found me a table with an outlet so that I can get some work done. Kudos for service.

We waited five minutes at the Please Wait sign and the bartender finally seated us. He said a server would be right with us. Five minutes more. Nobody came so we left. He also thought it was okay to seat us at a table that literally had trash on it and had not been cleaned. I’ve uploaded a picture of it along with my review. Would not recommend the service but cannot comment on the food unfortunately.
