Went to leeco Transmissions in El Monte very professional and honest they will give you A3 year warranty on their work I will highly recommend you to go to this place they told me to come back within a year to to change transmission fluid you will be satisfied with their service

5 stars for the simple fact that they do good work and are truly honest as other Unilocalers have said, which for an auto mechanic shop is very rare (to me, at least).
Dropped off my ’99 Honda Prelude to have the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and rear main seal replaced– all of which I could have done myself if I had the time, by the way– and they did a great job. I provided all the parts I wanted installed and they just charged me for the labor.
Sam, the manager, recommended that I replace an axle and front engine mount, both of which I knew about before he pointed them out.
Thank you Sam for your great communication… He kept me posted on the status of my car the whole time it was there.

ok so i had the hardest time when my 93 chevy van broke down a couple weeks ago. i knew it was the transmission n it would be expensive but thats about it– i dont know about auto mechanics but i do know people and the way the first 3 mechanics i went to along with the others that i just called were communicating with me it was as if they thought i never had a conversation before. like i never paid for anything or exerted any energy to make my money either. But going through all that and then finding this shop and sam made me feel so empowered! im so glad i took my van out of those other shops and sucked it up and paid for tow after tow. i was determined to find a fair deal and to not employ the services of liars, cheaters and greedy thieves. I kept my faith that there had to be some upfront and respectful people running a garage in los angeles and these guys at leeco transmission are exactly that and cool too! It was a pleasant biz deal over there and sam even showed me the part he took out and replaced with out me asking him first. and he told me about my van and what was done in a nice and normal, regular way of speaking:) these guys are smart and honest so i whole heartedly recommend them!
and i wanna mention that the old part is really cool looking and so i kept it and plan to use it in some sort of functional repurposed art: D maybe a light fixture.

I didn‘t have the best experience. The transmission is working fine, but my gripe isn‘t about that. It‘s other issues with my vehicle, when I arrived to pick it up.
First, there was a loud rattle when they pulled my vehicle up. I looked underneath my vehicle and saw a bent 1″ cross-​member on the frame, hitting the exhaust pipe. Which they promptly fixed.
Second, there was an exhaust leak as I drove away from their shop. I had to return and help them find the leak. Which was part of the exhaust they removed and didn‘t replace the gasket. Luckily, they had a replacement gasket. Which they promptly fixed.
Fortunately for me, I know about cars and found these problems. What about the next person? Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not. They did fix the problems and apologized. I will only return if I have a problem with this transmission, under their NON-​transferable 3yr/​30K mi. warranty.

Just got home with my 2005 Honda Odyssey that had transmission problems and I can really say I’m a very happy customer. Not only did he fix my transmission problem but he also fixed a couple more things on my car for agood reasonable price. Sam, you are the man… car runs great! Feels new just like I bought it 11 yrs ago. I recommend Leeco Transmission for everybody looking to get there transmission fix and not get cheated. This place is great! They diagnosed my transmission problem in 10 minutes and I had my truck fixed and ready a few days later. I thought my truck was a goner but it’s been 6 months and my truck purrs like a kitten!

Brought my cadillac V model in for a simple trans fluid change. I already had the parts since i like to use a specific oil. Called around places for quotes and most shops wouldn’t do the work unless they got the oil for me. Finally after 3^rd try (you know what the say about the 3^rd time) and scolding for asking for trans flush (more harmful than good) he was happy to take my car in and only charge for labor plus got a discounted price. Was afraid once he saw the emblem on the car his eyes would see a piggy bank rather than a fine piece of machine. I rarely trust anyone working in my car especially when I know how to do these things myself but I have to go with my gut feeling say this guy is ok!

These guys are SO GREAT! The transmission on my Saturn went out and my regular mechanic’s transmission guy doesn’t work on that kind. Because my car’s a Saturn and parts are hard to come by, Lee’s had to actually build the transmission. It was pricey, but by far the best deal that I found and it came with a 2 year warranty. It did take a day longer than originally planned, but building a transmission from scratch is no small task. Then, when it looked like it might take another extra day Sam promised me that they’d rent me a car — which I really appreciated because I was supposed to get it back the day before Thanksgiving and if I didn’t have a car I wouldn’t get to be with my family. But, they managed to get it to me and it runs great! And then, as if all of that wasn’t enough, they fixed my driver’s side mirror (someone had clipped it and run and I hadn’t gotten around to fixing it yet). Sam called me to give me my total and said he ordered the part and that I could pay him or not. I told him I’d love to pay him, but I’m a student and after the transmission there was no way I could afford it, and I figured that was that. He made a comment about it not being safe, and when I showed up to pick up my car, it was all fixed! These guys are the best! They really care about their customers.

I was not able to get my car serviced here, but they were able to check why my check engine light was on. Sam provided me with the codes so I could provide them to wherever I decided to go. Sam was very honest, nice and down to earth that if in the future I did have a problem they could service, I would definitely seek Sam’s help!≠D

I just had some work done on my car an choose to go with lees transmission based on the good reviews. They did not dissappoint they where the cheapest i found and they had my car done sooner then expected. I would definitely recommend them an i will be coming back for any of my transmission needs

My Acura TL 2004 tranny failed, and I spent 1 week consulted with my friends whom some are mechanics and car tunners. I was thinking of swapping an Accord 2006 – 7 tranny to this one because the 04 – 06 are famous for their failure. However, I decided to go for rebuild. I called around the town, more than 20 shops and decided to put my trust in LeeCo. They have the highest warranty (3 years or 30,000 miles)
Only time can tell how long my rebuild will last. I did not have a chance to talk to Mr. Lee but Sam was very professional. He’s very knowledgeable and you could learn a lot from about transmission him. I could tell he’s very proud of his work quality. Still, he’s very humble. The job was done quickly (I dropped my car on Tuesday and picked it up on Friday) and Sam called to update me with the process and if he needed some extra parts.
LeeCo uses OEM parts and fluids so no need to worry (I wished I could have a chance to try Redline D4 or AIMSOIL ATF though). I will definitely recommend this shop to my friends. ⁵⁄₅ stars

I took my 2000 Ford Explorer for service back in November. Sam greeted me and asked how could he help. Mr. Lee is great! He is very knowledgeable and before recommending a transmission overhaul he tried several other options. Unfortunately I ended up having to replace the transmission. They did a great job and are very professional at what they do. I left very happy and why wouldn’t I since they give a 3 year warranty. Will always come back and recommend it highly. If I could give more stars I would !!!

This place is very good. There are nice and pleasant to talk to. They work with you and don’t rake up unnecessary charges. I took my 2005 mustang gt v8 there and would recommend anyone else there.

Great job, they install my transmission, fast, great price, they didn’t try to find extra issues with my car, they listened to my concerns considering I’m a difficult person. They have lots of clients be ready to leave your car overnight

After having some really bad experiences with local shops in Monrovia decided to try Lee’s to get my wife’s car repairs taken care of. She needed the transmission repaired along with rear brakes, axles, and a new battery.
I took her car to a local Monrovia shop but they quoted $ 2300 for just the transmission. They wanted $ 3200 for transmission, brakes and boots. Crazy. And they didn’t even do the work themselves… they outsourced. Ya not going to do that. SO decided to go to Lees.
I dealt with Sam and he was very honest and upfront. He gave me a great deal for all the work and delivered on time. I can’t stress enough how good it was to work with Sam. He knows his stuff and answers all your questions. Not shady at all and I appreciated his honesty. Car runs great and I ended up saving hundreds of dollars on all the repairs. Try them you won’t be disappointed.

Had some issues with my Mazda and I went to search on Unilocal for a nearby mechanic who dealt with transmission issues. I ended up finding Lee Transmission Co and I decided to go there one morning. They took a look at my car and provided a simple solution asking me to let them know and come back if anything went wrong. They pretty much charged me nothing.
A few days later, my check engine light did come back on and I headed back to Lee and Sam. They took a look at my car again and was able to pinpoint the issue. Had it fixed the same day in just a few hours. Quite affordable. A very friendly pair of mechanics who are looking out for the customer’s car and wallet.
If I ever have issues with any car transmissions I will definitely head back there. Would recommend to anyone who is contemplating going to them

Just came from there. Spoke with Sam… EXTREMELY nice guy. Honest guy doing business there for 25+ years. Had my check engine light checked for an extremely low rate.

Genuine service. Another mechanic told me it was the transmission. I brought it here since they specialize in transmissions and they told me the transmission was good and that it was an air pump underneath the battery. If I ever have transmission problems I will be returning, their honesty will not be forgotten.

Lee and Sam was great in providing full diagnostic for my Mazda. I thought I have an issue with the transmission but they took the time to do a test drive and they identify that it was something else. They didn’t just do what was asked but really gave me the solution. The price is very reasonable also.

I had a really fantastic experience at Lee Transmission Co, who has over 30 years of transmission experience. My 2003 BMW’s transmission was acting up and knowing how brutal those repairs can be, I panicked and started running around town like a madwoman.
I hopped from one shop to another around the westside and the eastside, receiving conflicting advice on whether I should change my transmission fluid or not (I had never serviced it before) and also gathering estimates that were just astronomical.
Sidenote: I was about to do a transmission service 30,000 miles ago but my «trusted» shop at the time reassured me that BMWs have a lifetime fluid and that changing it could do more harm than good. Now I’ve learned that lifetime fluid means it will last until your transmission is completely dunzo and you have no choice but to start from scratch. And you wonder why people have a love/​hate relationship with BMWs…
Needless to say, I was feeling pretty hopeless but then stumbled upon Lee Transmission Co. Sam helped me out and looked into the problem right away. After a thorough inspection, Mr. Lee did a test drive and confirmed my car would need to do a transmission service soon. I couldn’t believe how much Sam quoted me for the service, including labor, parts and tax — we’re talking several hundred dollars less than the other shops trying to take advantage of my limited car knowledge, I’m sure. (Actually because my BMW has had so many repairs recently, I know a lot more about cars now than ever! But, still have quite a ways to go.)
I made an appointment to return later that week and was in and out in about an hour. Their super friendly dog kept me company too. Sam also helped to check on some codes too for me, and I was off on my merry way with a healthier transmission and some Lee Transmission Co calendars — just in time for 2015! If you’re looking for an honest, helpful and friendly shop, I would highly recommend Lee Transmission Co.

Although it’s a little early to rate since we just got our car back, but Lee’s Transmission Co gave us 3 year warranty on the work, so, I’m sure we will be OK.
it started when our commuter broke down and was in need of a new transmission. first place we look is Unilocal to help us find a trustworthy and reputable shop. base on the 5 star reviews, we decided on Lee’s Transmission co in El Monte. before we had our car towed, we were able to receive a quote from Sam (the shops manager) which helped eased anxiety as we now know what we are in for, even though it was only a preliminary estimate.
Sam always kept me updated on progress, and with my request on other work order, he was quick with estimate. car was done in less than 3 days with a complete transmission rebuild, and other misc. work. overall, price was fair. and the most important part of my experience is. I TRUST THEM! that is very important since we all know the price difference between work that you need and work that you don’t would be.

Mr. Lee is extremely skilled and Sam is a very nice person. Together, they make LeeCo a great place to get your car repaired. They listen to you and Sam even texts and emails updates of the progress he’s going through! How awesome is that? They specialize in transmissions, as that is what their name shows.
I had a very difficult issue that another shop gave up on. The job was so difficult, that at times I would think that nothing could be done. But LeeCo pulled through and they actually got the problem fixed, and it wasn’t for more than they said it should cost. They stand by their services, and they stick it out to the end.
