Our team is well trained in making a variety of cakes that is suitable for weddings, birthdays, holidays, and religious events. Happy Bakery will bake and create any cake within reason to satisfy your ideas with the perfect cake. If our designs are not up to your standards, you are more than welcome to bring in a picture of the desired design that you want. We hope to see you soon!

History

Established in 1989.

As the oven timer rings, rings, rings, the sweet smell of cakes and breads indicate that the something new and exciting has been created. Balancing the ingredients and mixtures to form the perfect cake and pastries in the family’s small kitchen, a young entrepreneur and his two other brothers set out to start what would be known as a small bakery chain in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. With their love for baking and creating tasty and desireable sweets, they set their mission to share their love of their cakes and pastries to the world. From their passion of baking, the brothers pursued a new standard of quality where every cake, bread, and pastry was made to satisfy everyone’s desires.

Based off in El Monte, California, Happy Bakery has been serving the greater San Gabriel Valley since 1989. As each dessert is made with local fresh and quality ingredients, Happy Bakery is committed to providing the community with affordable sweets that everyone can enjoy.

Bought a few cakes from here and they are pricey compared to the other bakeries in town. Plus the other ones have better customer service. This lady here always gives me attitude when I’m the one giving her business. Price match is pretty common now a days and she couldn’t accommodate me on a large cake order. I won’t be coming back. I’ve even referred people there and I will tell all of them to go to another bakery.

I tried this place a few years ago but never returned till today. Now I know why I hadn’t been back. I purchased several pastries all were old, very stale and no flavor. I also purchased charter cookies that were cutely decorated but super hard. None of the kids ate them. They were all thrown in the trash. Lady was rude, no customer service here. Waste of money.

We had to find a random bakery on the way to a last minute party and chose this one. We popped in and the woman working was extremely friendly. We were also surprised by the assortment to choose from. I am always hesitant with buying a cake from a random bakery but it was actually good. I don’t live nearby so I probably won’t be back anytime soon but would definitely frequent otherwise.

There was color bleeding on my cake, the edges looked caved in and she was extremely mean. Overall I feel the cake was poor quality because when trying to serve guest, the cake didn’t cut well. The pieces were stuck to the sheet and each slice looked like a creamy mess. THE CAKE WAS DRY and compensated with a lot of cream. The decorations looked horrible and the cake was uneven in shape. WORST EXPERIENCE!

Half sheet marble birthday cake for $ 50
My sister and I pre ordered the cake 3 days in advance, we ordered it with an image of Baby Minnie Mouse.
Sadly upon picking it up the owner was extremely rude! She showed us our cake and we pointed out that it was messed up on the edges and asked her to fix it and she refused! After that we didn’t want to stay and argue so we asked for a candle and a plastic knife to cut the cake. She wanted to force us to buy a pack of 12 candles for $ 4.50! Then she tells us she doesn’t give out knives and to get it at the 99 cent store! Or if we are going to a restaurant they should have a knife.
Honestly any bakery that I have been to is always willing to give you a candle and it comes with a plastic knife. This place on the other hand is trying to skimp out and cheat customers from as much money as they can.
I regret coming here to preorder my cake. Im astonished that a bakery with terrible service could stay open.

I came to this bakery and I am so disappointed. I will not go back again. The empanadas where dry and cold. The pastries are old and taste less. I rather go to a donut shop.

I wasn’t sure about this place when I walked in. But the slice cake and pastry I got were both pretty good. The lady helping me was very friendly as well. They carry a lot of Mexican pastries as well but I prefer the cakes.

I searched for a local bakery to make a special cake for my wife’s birthday and found this one online… Absolutely the best cake I have ever had… The (owner?) helped me with the design, and even added cute paw prints on the sides… Can’t be happier… Will definitely use this bakery for all future cakes and such…

So this is my 3rd time buying a birthday cake, this time I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the first time. First off the top tier of my cake was leaning (3 tiers) the snow flakes drawn were very sloppy and the strawberries tasted old. On top of that, we went 15 minutes early to pick up the cake and it wasn’t finished yet, not even frosted. I had to go back which made me an hour late to my own party, very dissapointed. I also ordered cupcakes, which were shown no love what so ever. It looked like everything was rushed, if only a little more time was spent on my order. Especially for the amount it came out to.

I went here to order my friends cake today for her birthday. The women who works in the front was super nice, was willing to work out the best price for me. Also gave me ideas on how the cake can look best. I wont know for sure if I am «in love with the place» until I see the final product and taste it ;) but I do give it 3 stars for customer service and yummy smell on the bakery =)

Very good quality. Owner is always willing to help and even stays open til 10pm sometimes to get work done. Cakes are always tasty, not too dry or sponguey. Been getting cakes here for 5+ years and recommended many.

Order a carrot cake yesterday last minute and they delivered, ready to pick when I got off of work. The cake came out beautiful and was just what I wanted. I had looked up bakeries that were open on Monday and who baked carrot cakes and had trouble locating one until I found Happy Bakery. They made one happy customer!

Omg so it’s my 3rd time getting a cake here… The 1st time it was ok then I thought maybe I should give it a second shot since it’s down the st from my house… So I did, cake tasted like old cake sitting inside the fridge for at least a week… then I was in a rush to find a cake last minute decision so of course here I come after the experiences I had… So I got a chocolate strawberry cake and once everything was cut in slices here I go finding a damn hair!!! Like seriously??? Thank god I found it and not my guests… 3rd times a strike!!! So disgusting I feel!!! Never again will I come and buy a cake here! I rather drive to my bakery spot in eAgle rock!

I’m all in for small businesses. It’s the service that I don’t particularly like that irks me.
I called in 24 hours early to order 2 puto/​rice sponge cakes for 11:30−12ish noon the next day. I come in close to 2pm and it’s not even done yet. On top of that, they want to charge me $ 2 to have it precut. Ugh. It takes a second lady, maybe multiply that by 60 seconds.
Anyways, the puto was not the translucent one I asked for as well. It was hard and wasn’t that great with the dinuguan. «Happy», yeah right.
