Charlotte’s Bake Shoppe

When I lived in placerville I went almost everyday to get one of their dark chocolate mocha’s, and I’m really picky about my mocha’s. But seriously, they don’t get any better than Charlotte’s. They make the melted chocolate for the mocha’s every morning and my mouth still waters when I think of the rich creamy taste swirlin around my tongue. I had to relocate to San Francisco for school and I’m still looking for a café that can match Charlotte’s heavenly mocha’s, still to no avail.

I love this bakery. It’s not Starbucks’ level of efficiency, no but it is the best bakery in the are. No other bakery comes close (well beyond baked is awesome too). The brownies and the cheese twists are worth making a special trip. But be warned that they are highly addictive. Just make sure you eat the brownie before noon or you might not sleep that night-​they are SERIOUS chocolate. The cheese twist are that flaky crispy buttery cheesy combination that will call to you and destroy your diet.

So after giving this Bakery weeks of time to get their act together I would have to say that the only thing I have consistently ordered is a bagel and cream cheese. The first time I went in for a iced white mocha i was not hooked on them. I had definitely tasted better. I am not impressed by the staffing (although there are a few employees that you can tell like what they do and are there to serve you), dollar per amount of food and tastes of the food.
Today was the last straw. I went in to order a french bread style pizza. I asked how much it was and the girl was not sure and went to fins out. Now, the last time and only time I had ordered this item I was charged $ 3.50. The girl came back and told me it was on special for $ 5. I would not have been so turned off on the place if this had not happened before. Mocha’s are day to day different prices as well as sandwiches etc. I have made the decision that I will drive further and be better satisfied in my local coffee shop! Cozmic Café here I come!
