Latrobe Road Self Storage

Poorly managed. Not kept clean. Managers are not helpful nor concerned.
Prior owners did a very good job.

Have my RV stored here and they have been really great especially when we had to get in after hours Never an issue and appears to be a safe place overall. Storing more stuff there now. They are under new management again, so we shall see how it goes.

I walked in and asked if they had the type of storage unit available that I was looking for. While he was looking another customer came in and asked a question, he quickly displaced me and went and helped the other customer, instead of saying let me help her first then I can help you. It was rude and I won’t be renting from them.

What an awful place! I was warned by at least four people prior to using Latrobe Self Storage for my U-​haul rental, however, they were the only place that would accomodate my move on a Saturday… now I know why. The staff is incredibly rude, Martin, a U-​haul rep will treat you like garbage while you are setting up your rental (when I was there, there was some young girl being trained for U-​haul and he couldn’t stop looking down the front of her blouse long enough to provide any customer service), then he will attempt to say that your U-​haul has more gas than it does and when you question it, he insists he will update your paperwork and insists you go on your merry way… then when you return your U-​haul clean and with the same amount of gas you received in it, they charge you a $ 30.00 fee to fill up the gas tank and $ 40.00 worth of gas for 2/​16ths of a tank (that I didn’t even owe in the first place because Martin never updated my paperwork as promised… but really? $ 40.00 for 2/​16ths of a tank? Gas is not forty dollars a gallon). When you call to complain, Martin will tell you he has no idea who you are and refer you to a regional rep, giving you a false number to reach him. When you reach the false number and call Martin’s boss to complain, he gives you the correct number to the rep. You then call the rep numerous times, leaving numerous messages, and never hear back for weeks, all while Latrobe Self Storage is holding your money hostage! When you finally create enough of a ruckus and get someone to give your money back to you, his name was Luis… he will tell you that since you paid in cash, you must wait for your money to come via check from U-​haul and he has no idea how long it will take. Well Latrobe Self Storage and all of your rude staff, thank you for the experience, and I will make SURE that I tell everyone what you put me through!

I have mixed feelings.
This was previously called Superior Storage. I’ve had a storage unit at this location for a little over two years. When I first got the unit, I got a good deal: paid 12 months up front and got 3 months free. Unfortunately, they are under different management now (Mansour) and do not have these specials for new customers anymore.
They do have good customer service and I feel my things are secure there. Gated and decently lit. Never an issue with this management or the previous one. The units are climate controlled and an okay price for the area.
One thing I do not like is how packed the vehicles/​RVs/​boats are into the area. Every available parking spot and open place (curbs — even in tight spots) are lined with vehicles and the like. I guess no matter how packed or aggravating it is, it’s all about cramming them in to make that $$$!
