True Line Wheel Alignment

This is the only place I will take my car. Alex is always super fast and friendly. Even employees at check out are always really nice and helpful.

I read some of the bad reviews on here about True Line but I have no idea how they could be honest reviews. These guys were friendly, honest, and completely thorough. Larry took my lifted truck and completely restored my suspension. I had driven through a pot hole and mangled the lower control arm and several other parts. Then made it worse by not getting it checked for months. But he was able to correctly diagnose the problems and fix them. Including having to manufacture and weld a bracket to correct a camber issue.
I appreciate all their hard work and I fully intend to let my friends know about my very positive experience here. Thank you, Larry for all your hard work.

I am continually impressed by the quality of work these guys perform. Everything from drop of to pickup is always on point.

This place is the best. I had taken my truck to a couple other places who said they couldn’t find parts and or couldn’t work on my truck. I have a ’50 Chevy truck with original front end. Larry at True Line went above and beyond and my front end hasn’t been this solid since I bought the truck 10 years ago. Thank you Larry, you got my truck rollin’ and just in time for me to drive it to Vegas for the Viva Las Vegas car show.

These guys helped me with an F350 that was experiencing «death wobble», the steering wheel shaking violently.
They correctly diagnosed and repaired the problem with new tires and tie rods. I also had them change another tire and put new shocks in.
Their diagnosis, pricing and parts pricing was fair and the work was done in a timely fashion.
I would go here again in a heartbeat.

All in all, I really enjoyed working with True Line, have a high level of confidence in the work which was done, and am immensely pleased with their customer service. Larry and Chris are both intelligent and cool, the vibe I got was kind of classic gear heads. Although I brought the coach in right before the holidays, their team was on it, and completed my work well within a reasonable time frame. When my coach required special attention outside of the original expectations, they did not nickle and dime me at each opportunity.
I would definitely recommend this company for any suspension/​breaks/​chassis/​alignment related issues. they can handle all size vehicles, are prompt and communicative, and seem to do quality work.

I brought in my ’91 32′ coach which suffered from some severe airbag /​suspension /​other structural issues, some of them requiring welds to repair lost structure, as well as removing axles and such.
When I dropped her off, due to the length of the list, I was prepared for them to take up to around a month, however, I was pleasantly surprised when they began calling me by the end of the week apologizing that they were stuck waiting on parts, and didn’t expect to be finished until mid next-​week. all in all, they had my coach for less than 2 weeks, several days of which were due to my inability to arrange a ride to pick it up.
Toward the end of my drive home, the brakes seized a bit resulting in a very small amount of brakes being applied non-​stop. As several months earlier True Line had completed a number of repairs on the braking system, I contacted them to give them a heads up I had this problem, and maybe encounter some suggestions for how I would get my 32′ coach 20 miles down the road without damaging anything when the breaks won’t release.
To my surprise, after describing the braking problem, and confirming they had worked on those brakes recently, Larry and Chris from True Line volunteered to swing by my place on their way home from work (Though it was probably at least 20 minutes out of the way for Larry), and diagnose the problem I had encountered.
As my phone call caught them right before closing, they arrived within 40 minutes or so, and proceeded to poke, prod, and generally trouble-​shoot the problem, bleeding the brakes lines and such, until they were fairly certain they had identified the problem as a seized piston. Although rebuilding or replacing the caliper was not part of the initial brake job, Larry volunteered to rebuild the unit for free, and after having dislodged the brakes from their initial seized state, I was able to drive the coach back in where they were able to promptly complete the repair on the brakes.

Had a great experience here now three times. I have a 50 year old Malibu they did a perfect job on, even though I have all tubular control arms and aftermarket parts. They just recently inspected and diagnosed my 2005 Dodge truck’s front end issues, and did a perfect alignment after helping me with control arms and ball joints.
Two thumbs up. Larry and Chris are what hot rodding and trick cars with trick problems are all about. We are lucky to have them in town, because I would travel to get this kind of service.

It was awesome to finally get some expert front end servicing. My truck has been in a couple of other shops that were unable to diagnose and fix my not-​so-​occasional «death wobble». It was very clear that these guys know what the hell they are doing. I was even given a loaner truck while they had my truck overnight. Not cheap but I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

This is my go-​to place for alignments. I’ve been here 3 times. You can make an appointment and you’re in and out within an hour. If you get on their mailing list they will send you deals like $ 40 alignments. The young guy behind the counter is respectful and kind. Not like typical teens these days.
I lived in North County for almost 3 yrs and I still drove 45 minutes to have my alignment done here. I trust these guys not to mess with my car like other places I’ve gone (i.e. Express Tire on Bernardo Center Drive-​scandals!).

I came in to get a quick inspection 30 minutes before closing and they were unable to help me. Not cool. They give free inspections, so I guess if I was getting service I would of got some help.

Took a lifted Jeep here and ended up having to go somewhere else to get it fully aligned to spec. Three stars because they did align the front pretty well and they didn’t charge me for the rear (only after some debating though). There are definitely better shops out there.

Friendly staff. Usually somewhat fast. They messed my alignment up and did so it made the vehicle pull the opposite direction. I went back in and told them it’s pulling the other way. Even though they knew they just did my alignment they made me make an appointment and come back. Came back they fixed it and just handed me the keys. I said, «what was wrong» and then he admitted to their fault. No apology, no future discount, no NOTHIN! Looking else where for alignment. Doubtful will return.

After running around to several auto repair and tire shops, I finally found True Line Wheel Alignment in El Cajon. My 2007 F250 4×4 was in serious need of an alignment. They checked my truck out and found several problems with the front end its self which was preventing them from being able to align the truck. I asked them for a quote, which they gave me. I held off on letting them do the work and I shopped around to see if I could get a better price somewhere else. I turned out True Line had the best price. I went back and had True Line do the work and the alignment and I couldn’t be happier. My truck’s steering feels like new again even though I have about 115,000 miles on it. I highly recommend these guys!

For the second consecutive time now, I will have to prematurely replace my tires due to uneven wear. With both sets of tires, I trused True Line to align them.
A MAJOR AND EXPENSIVE MISTAKE!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!
I was in their shop today and was told dismissively that the uneven wear was due to the tires not being fully inflated. I check the pressure weekly, that WAS NOT the issue.
If the wear WAS due to under inflated tires, as they claimed, then they have charged me repeatedly for unneeded alignment, when all that was required was a squirt of air.
To add insult to injury, they kept me waiting around for over a half hour, for no reason, after they had finished «working» (an exaggeration at best) on my truck.
When I called them on their flawed logic (aka blatant lie) all they could do in return was shrug their shoulders and say «I don’t know.»
I recieved NO apology, they did not lift one finger to help, let alone offer any sort of comensation for my misguided loyalty.
Instead, I was talked down to, condescendingly, as if I were an ignorant child.
THEY ARE INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST, AND RUDE!!!
Two sets of tires needing replacement halfway through their lifespan=$ 750
Two unneeded alignments= $ 100
Three pointless trips to thier shop= $ 90 in gas
Total of $ 960 dollars spent, AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED!!!
THE ONLY THING TRUE ABOUT TRUE LINE IS THAT THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

I sit here and write this review to all fellow Unilocalers and hopes this helps. One thing I can say is it is nice to actually get a free quote. My ford focus was vibrating and thought it was alignment issues. However, after bringing my car to true line I learned that it was motor mounts and was going to cost me 652 $ to fix. I went home with this quote and they said if I can find parts cheaper they would install them. I found the main motor mount cheaper from ford 55 less than they were offering. And the other mount 65 less than they were offering. They assured me that was at dealer price. Needles to say I went to napa auto and got both parts for 140. I save well over a hundred just parts. They said it was really hard to do and was going to be 4 hours of labor. That was crap. I looked on you tube and did both of my motor mounts for 1 hour. So not only will they take you on labor they charge 35 to 50% more than dealer prices on parts. So how is it that a semi mechanically guy can do this in one hour for both and they were going to charge me 4.5 hours to do it. Needless to say I saved 500. I cannot say anything about their work, however the diagnosis they gave me solved my problem.

If you like off-​roading, this is the place to go! their work is not the best though.

*Slammed car friendly* I needed an alignment after lowering my car. I checked out Firestone in santee, and true line in Chula Vista, finding out that my car couldn’t fit in their stations. After doing more searching, I found out true line in santee was low car friendly, which was true. Flat surfaces in the area. I Scheduled an appointment right away and arrived earlier than my appointment time. They weren’t busy, so they told me to back my car in for the alignment. Quick and easy! Took no longer than 30 minutes. What I also liked about this shop is that they ask/​help you with the alignment specs you want since they do the alignment manually, instead of using computers to align it. This is going to be my go to spot for alignments from now on.

These guys are the best! I used to get my alignments done at my local Firestone because it was conveniently located down the street from my house, but after several issues with incorrect adjustments and a general lack of knowledge about cars and suspension, I came here and couldn’t be happier.
Firestone told me that they could no longer provide an alignment for my last car because the one guy who had the right tools had been fired (and I paid for a lifetime alignment), and when they tried, they imputed the wrong car into their computer.
Granted my car was on coil-​overs and was not as simple as putting it on the rack and turning on the computer like most cars, but really all that was required was to jack the car up, make the adjustment and lower it back down. They basically told me that it was impossible to correctly align to my requested specs.
True Line had the whole job done in less than an hour and it was perfectly aligned to my specs. If you are having trouble elsewhere, come to this place and you may find that the impossible is not really all that hard when people know what they are doing.

bought 2 tires and had the other tires rotated at Discount Tire in El Cajon. After we left, the car drove perfectly (but did have a small pull to the right) So, i had a coupon for True Line for an alignment. Took it to them the next day. Of course after it was done, they said it needed a camber and tie rod repair. We knew this. upon driving the car home, it shook like crazy. the steering wheel and under the seats. The alignment was fine, but the car is almost undriveable.
i will be calling tomorrow morning, and i will be updating this after i speak to them. Right now, if i could give them a zero star rating, i would
UPDATE: took the car back this morning. The guy said that the car is vibrating (yeah, thats why i brought it back).He told us what the original receipt said that the tie rods need replacing. why would they do the alignment in the first place? it seems to me that if an alignment isn’t going to work, you would be honest and say ‘look an alignment won’t work until you get this repaired’ I took my car on a drive on the freeway, and it still pulls SEVERELY to the right and still vibrates. so, i just emailed them a complaint and have given up. If you want to throw your money away
another UPDATE: took the car in when the owner responded to my email about how dissatisfied i was. They did fix the pull to the right, but now the car still vibrates like crazy, its like riding in a truck. Now, they say the rear axle is bent. Funny, no one ever mentioned that before (and we’ve had it aligned at other places over the last 2 years.
i will give the owner credit, he refunded my money for the alignment. But, l won’t go back. it shouldn’t take 3 visits to get something done. AND it was a different diagnosis each time.

I used True Line once for my personal car and then a few times for our company.
Now I trust and believe what they tell me.
Larry is very nice and honest. If something can wait, he will tell you. He will give you the risks and let you decide. He doesn’t make you feel like an idiot for not knowing your car. or like a cheepskate for not fixing the problem. When we brought our last company truck in he rotated the tires to get rid of this 50mph shake it had on the freeeway. No charge.
