San Diego Unclog

I had a major plumbing/​leak problem that caused thousands of dollars of water damage.
I wanted to make sure that the source of the problem is fixed so that it does not happen again. I was referred to Jason at San Diego Unclog by someone so I went with him.
Jason quoted me $ 220 for using a jetting machine and a scope.
He did the scope, saw major clog at a 90 degree turn and tried to use the jet but it initially did not work so he had to revert to the use of the traditional snake. He didn’t tell me it was going to cost more. In the end, for about 2.5 hours of work, he charged me $ 400.
When he said the clog was cleared, I asked him to show me on the scope where it is cleared out. He wouldn’t. He said to trust him and that he heard the noise that indicated the clog was cleared. I was still worried because of the thousands of dollars of damage the clog and the subsequent leak did to the house. I said it would only take another 10 minutes and you’re charging me $ 400 for a little more than 2 hours of work when you first quoted me $ 220. He wouldn’t and said he is very experienced and he guarantees it was fixed.
Four months later, the same spot in the pipe caused the same problem and again I had to deal with thousands of dollars of damage. I called him to ask him to honor his guarantee but he said sorry, it’s past his warranty. Yeah, that is true, but obviously something wasn’t done right or else a completely cleared clog wouldn’t have the same problem in 4 months. We never put anything but TP down the toilet. I asked Jason to come out and just take a quick look to help me out. He said he’d have to charge at least another $ 120.
Why the hell would I pay again for more shitty expensive work?
I called another plumbing company who came out and told me the full story. Yes, the pipe was clogged, but it was so corroded and with those sharp 90 degree turns, it will just happen again in a few months. They cleared the clog the best they could, but recommended to have the pipe replaced and the angles reworked to make the turn a bit smoother. I went ahead and have the major work done, paid a lot more of course, but I know now that I won’t have this problem again in a few months and cost me thousands again. After they are done, I asked them to show me on the scope, even though it was brand new pipe. They did that even though there was no «need» because they had pride in their work and wanted the customer happy.
San Diego Unclog, on the other hand, does the minimal work and charges exorbitant rates. If you know for sure you have a minor problem and are will to pay high prices, go with San Diego Unclog. If you are unsure the extent of the problem and need someone to discover it and fix it properly, avoid San Diego Unclog at all costs.
