El Cajon Police Department

The alarm system at my business went off due to the rain & strong winds. The ADT alarm services contacted us and the police to come to my business. Only 5 minutes following the call, the police officers of the El Cajon Police dept came to check around our business area and found that the garage door had opened. They tried to close it and waited for us to come to lock the garage and reset the alarm. These officers are so outstanding at their job, which is to protect and serve the community :)

These folks’ jobs are hard enough as it is without the average citizen spouting their hatred for them. FYI, when you call to report something and the DISPATCHER tells you it might take an hour or 20 minutes. .. UNLESS there is imminent danger to you think about the area that these guys and ladies have to cover, and that there might JUST be other more threatening crimes happening where someone else IS IN DANGER or fear for their life. Just because there is a dog barking and it pisses you off, don’t blame the police because they are on a more pressing call and can’t come running to see to your problem. Anytime we have had problems where we live and they have come to our aid, they have always been professional, polite and as accommodating as possible. The best advice I have for people is to be a little more proactive in your own safety by taking an active part in noting and documenting information to give to them to aid them in their job, i.e. take photos, alert neighbors to possible criminals in your area, etc. Stop being so judgmental and give the police a break!

Wish I could give Zero Stars. This department is the most incompetent and unprofessional organization in all of San Diego. 4 of my vehicles were towed (WITHOUT NOTICE AT 3AM) from my residence. I received nothing but bullshit run around from ECPD and was forced to pay towing and «Administrative fees» to get my cars out. The officer MIKE ROSAS used a slim Jim/​wedge and pump to break into all of my vehicles in order to unlock them so they could be wrongfully towed. During the process each of my vehicles were damaged. MIKE ROSAS also violently removed license plates from the vehicles damaging mounting points and paint. Currently developing a case for small claims against ECPD, the city of El Cajon and MIKE ROSAS for the damage you have caused to my personal property as well as the fees associated with retrieving my vehicles. Watch out for ECPD as they are not on your side. Later found out that local towing companies work out deals with officers like MIKE ROSAS and will pay on the side for generating business. Do not become a victim of this fraudulent department. See you in court Mike!

Thank you ECPD for coming to our home at 3:30 am after two young men were spotted in our car (parked in our driveway)! The two officers were so kind. Thank you for all you do for all of us day and night!

I own a business in El Cajon and just came in on a Saturday morning to find three meth addict sitting in front of my building Jn their tents surrounded by human excrement. I called the El Cajon police and told them I was scared to try to enter my building by myself being that I am a woman. They told me that they had no idea how long it would take for them to come out. I asked them what I could do to fix the situation and they had no option for me. They told me to wait there until an officer could come out. I asked them how long that would take he said it could take anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours and just to wait there. I feel like I am in danger on a daily basis but the police have done nothing to help clean up this area. I’m so disappointed I thought that they would be on my side.

Called today to report a dog locked in a car and got absolutely no help. The officer asked if the dog was in distress, to which I said «it’s 98 degrees and he’s locked in a car. The officer again asked if he was in distress, and I repeated what I had said earlier, to which he asked «does the dog have water?» I said how the f – k would I know, he’s locked in the car! Realizing I wasn’t going to get any help, I hung up. Wow, I’m so disappointed on how my tax dollars are being spent. Sorry to have bothered you on a Sunday.

If you don’t have anything better to do than harass me on my one break at work for smoking then shut the fuck up and shove another doughnut in your piggy little face. You guys are the reason pigs have a bad name

i would not even give them not one star, last year i was driving on main street i made a U turn on Main, there was a sign that i did not pay attention to, i had a Michigan Driver License because i was going back and forth every 3 months, he decided to tow my car, i asked him why he said i am not licensed to drive in California, i told him i can believe that you are going to tow my car, so the old man officer with a stinking bad breath got in to my face and accused me to intimidate him because i asked him what is your name Officer, he said all the Chadian Men intimidated hi before, so based on that statement he made he was a hater or a raciest against Chaldea’s, even though i did not made no threat i was talking very normal with a com voice, he threatened to arrest me and got in to my face and shut me up like i am his slave, i said yes sir, then i was charged $ 150 to get a letter from them to bail my car with no license.

when some meth heads broke into my car to steal my stereo i had to call the fuzz. a nice police officer came over and took a report. two months later i received a call to come down to the El Cajon station to identify my stolen stereo i was greeted by some very nice people and was offered coffee. i got my stereo back awesome and then returned home to sell that piece of junk on Craig’s list

ECPD is the worst! When my brand new car was stolen out of my driveway and found in EC a week later with stolen goods in it, including credit cards and cell phones, the officer told me to just be happy I had my car back. They did not have the manpower to try and find out who did it– even though some of the stolen goods were from a store that had video surveillance.
Last night we called to report a drug house with kids in it and they told us they had no manpower to look into it– they didn’t even ask us for the address.

We all love to hate the police. We are very hard on them and make it difficult for them to do the right thing at times. Americans just love to defy authority. I am a true American.
Usually, I would prefer to rate a government entity with black holes instead of a single star, but I have to hand it to the ECPD. They just seem to give a damn.
I have had to deal with them on occasion and I have seen them in action several times. As much as I want to find a reason to hate them, they just aren’t offering up the goods. In fact, they have actually given me some much needed help when times were toughest for me.
They are very professional, courteous, responsive and friendly for the most part. They are also very quick to respond to a call.
If it isn’t hard enough that many, many normal people give them hell, but when you pile the not so stable people that seem to find their way to EC and the heat and the people who are pedaling all over EC on a bike at 3:00 AM and so on, they actually deserve a nod from us.
One exception that I have to note here:… You know who you are cop!!! You have some nerve to ticket me for speeding when you had to go even faster than me to catch up. I’ll let it slide this time though:)
