Challenge Ranch is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that specializes in Equine Assisted Therapy with underprivileged children, most from foster and group homes. Challenge Ranch is dedicated to providing recreation with support, encouragement and inspiration to San Diego County.
Young people learn horse care and stable management, basic groud work, show jumping and cross-country, trail riding and endurance riding, vaulting and mounted games. They have a sense of responsibility, and learn respect, consideration and build a sense of self confidence.
Equine Assisted Learning Sessions are conducted as necessary, especially with new Riders to the programs. The horses help the young people realize may things about themselves and help them overcome past experiences even when traditional methods of psychological care has not helped.

Established in 1999.
Founded in 1999 by Ron and Jane Tomczak; incorporated in 2004.
