History

Established in 1948.

We are a 3^rd generation family business, serving greater San Diego since 1948. When C. P. Richards started a sign business in his garage, he never imagined it would grow into a state-​of-​the-​art production facility requiring 4400 sq. ft. of prime industrial space. Today, our clients keep every inch of that space in high gear.

The tools of the trade have changed too. We don’t use brushes and paint much now. But there is one thing that remains the same. Our values. We still do business the traditional way — building client relationships on a foundation of performance, fairness and trust. Some call that old-​fashioned. We prefer to think of it as common sense.

So, we take those «old fashioned» values and we add cutting edge technology to produce the full suite of business identity or branding tools your organization — or your special event — will need.

Business Owner

While not taking over the reins of C P Richards Signs until February 2003, Chuck has been involved in the Sign Industry for over 2 decades. Even though He oversees all aspects of the shop on a daily basis, it is not unusual to see him working on a wrap install in the shop or installing Bronze letters on the side of a building. Chuck is always leading the shop to improve their skills and attended and passed the Certification Program at Fellers in September 2008 and became PDAA Master Certified Installer September of 2011. Chuck also spent 10 years in the US Army, leaving as a Staff Sergeant with an Honorable Discharge
