Autobahn BMW and Porsche Dismantling

Came to purchase some parts for my 2004 BMW 325 Ci was definitely a good experience for me and my husband. I highly recommend if your looking for used BMW and porsche parts to come. Ask for Tony he was nice, patient and very informative.

Sean and John are two of the greatest guys always helping me out with my BMW projects. Even used them when I lived in Scottsdale and they have ALWAYS ALWAYS been the best of the best.

These guys are great. I have a car that I am trying to keep running and this place actually makes it affordable to do that. Recently I needed a part in order for my car to pass SMOG, the part cost roughly $ 120 at the local In The Zone or O’Mallys type stores. Autobahn had what I needed for $ 30! The gentlemen that I deal with area always friendly and ready to help. This is a big plus as I am a poor mechanic and they don’t make me feel dumb.

The Escondido BMW service manager sent me here because my rear view mirror failed on my 2004 BMW. He said I could get one here at a reasonable price. John and Sean helped me. They found a new rear view mirror at a reasonable price and even installed it. They gave excellent service and were very helpful.

I went in this past Monday for a window regulator… Was great price and they even installed it for me… Kevin the younger guy did a super great job. He knew exactly what he was doing with confidence. Did it in have the time frame I was given. Totally satisfied and I will be back again. I highly recommend this place.

Visited here while in town to see about some parts for an 84 911 and a 2008 BMW e90. While they didn’t have what we were looking for Sean talked about some options and did some price checking. He knew exactly what we were looking for on both vehicles and was very aware of some of the nuances of each part. Even gave us a tour of the shop and warehouse. While we didn’t get what we needed during this particular stop, will absolutely continue to watch the folks at Autobahn for future needs. Great shop, people, and service.

I needed a fairly expensive part. I looked everywhere online and in San Diego. Autobahn had one at a very reasonable price.

I bought used body panels for my Smart Fortwo from this place. Shipped to my door even though I thought I had to pick them up at Chicago airport. Packed extremely well. Very good condition as they said the panels would be. Excellent price!!! I couldn’t be happier!

I’m typically skeptical of auto parts people, as it often feels that they’re trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge and ultimately overcharge me. Not Autobahn. Both gentlemen that helped me showed me all of my options, up to and including getting the part for FREE from my dealership! Who does that? Well, apparently people with a tremendous amount of professional integrity do, which is super refreshing. And as a result of their professionalism, they’ve now elevated themselves to trusted advisors for anything BMW related for me. I consider myself lucky to have them as part of my team.

I got a smoking-​good deal on a really obscure part for my 1990 Porsche. As a matter of fact, they beat online pricing which of course is pretty crazy. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. You’d be crazy NOT to at least call or stop in and see what they’ve got. My only complaint was that I called once and they said they didn’t have a part. I decided to stop in and see what they had a few days later and whatya know, they had the part. Not a big deal, it’s just that they have thousands and thousands of parts.

If I could I would leave no stars! I was looking for a hood for my e46. I happen to find one there off of a e46 that was exactly the same as mine. I asked the person that was helping me, if it would fit my car perfectly? He assured me that it would. I had it put on the same day, and guess what it didn’t. The front didn’t sit flush like my original hood, and it turn out to be the production date was different.
When I went back, I spoke to the same guy and showed him what was wrong. He then tells me «oh yeah the production dates aren’t the same so that’s why.» So he knew, and took my money anyways? He just shrugged his shoulders, and didn’t say nothing. So I threw away a couple hundred dollars (which they knew it wouldn’t fit perfectly), and the customer service is horrible. If it was their personal car it would be a different story.
I’ve heard the same from many people who have dealt with these pricks, and do not waste your time or money here!

I needed OEM exhaust hanger muffler clamps for my E36 M3. After calling BMW of San Diego and hearing they wouldn’t be available for several days, I called Autobahn Dismantling. The gentleman who answered the phone informed me they did in fact have the parts I was looking for. I immediately went to their storefront and was greeted by several smiling employees. Within minutes of arriving I was checking out for an extremely reasonable price! They made my day! I’ll definitely be going back.

Been dealing with John since 2008 when he bought my white M3 BMW that lady pulled out in front of me and totaled. Have been dealing with John and Sean ever since for my E39 2000 528I BMW.
Great guys with Great service and very knowledgeable about BMW and Porsche cars. They always give me a great quote for a used part or they will suggest a new part if they feel it will last longer. Which is still cheaper than the dealership. For returning customers it just seems to get better and better.
From one great driver to another please, before you go to buy a NEW part at the dealership for your BMW or Porsche please call these guys first and get their opinions! You won’t regret it.

Been shopping here since 1990, when Tom owned it. Current owners John and Sean have carried on Autobahn’s stellar tradition of great prices, shipping and availability. You can also buy a complete (salvage) fixer vehicle from them and build it back up yourself, for a tiny fraction of buying used. If you plan on keep the car forever… this is the BEST way to get back on the road.
You will not see any price gouging here. Autobahn still relies on YOUR word-​of-​mouth referrals, and this has worked out well for us customers. Forget about asking a mechanic for «free advice»…a dismantler will know your car inside-​out!

herb was a great help to me.
the parts were decently priced i suppose, but it’s hard to tell really since used parts for my car can be really hard to find.
shipping was very reasonable.
the parts got here as promised and i was able to track my package via UPS.
service was good — these guys follow up and actually seem to care. I have called a few salvage places before and i’m looking for parts to buy and they don’t seem to want the business. maybe the employees are overworked or something. they seem to care, but then they don’t follow through.

I’ve been working with Autobahn for 9 years now. You can’t expect the same service you’d get at the Ritz (duh) but they always get the job done and at an awesome price. Even with dealing with used parts they stand behind what they sell and are super knowledgeable about the cars they sell parts for. As far as a BMW dismantler in San Diego goes you cant beat them.
