Todd the Plumber Man really knows his stuff. As a diagnostician and as a craftsman he is top notch. Fast, hardworking, and dependable. We definitely recommend him, with only one caveat: If you need concrete finishing work done, you might be better off having somebody else do that. Cement work is apparently not Todd’s strong suit.

Excellent service! I contacted A-​1 for the 1^st time today, to fix a draining & garbage disposal problem in my tenant’s kitchen sink. He went out that same afternoon, worked quickly and took care of everything for only $ 55. He just asked me to mail him a check. I’m so impressed! Thanks Todd, you are officially now my go-​to plumber!

I had a kitchen sink that would clog frequently and finally decided to get a plumber out when It clogged again today. I called one place before I called him and they did not repair pipes so I called him. He came within an hour and was very informative with everything he was doing. He fixed the clog within an hour. He had to go on the roof and get the job done. His prices are very fair and he won’t try to rip you off just because you are a girl. The hubby is deployed and as hard as managing the fort is without him this guy is a must call for all your plumbing needs! thank you! Will be recommending to family and friends!

I contacted A-​1 around 8 am for a stopped up kitchen sink (and connected bathroom sink); I had a return call from Todd at around 9 am, and said that he would be my house at around noon. This is very fast service for any plumbing company… with NO additional charges. So, he did arrive on time. He was very neat in his work area. He did fix the pipes below and he actually had to go out and purchase another piece of pipe; which he did. Total time of repair was approximately 90 minutes. He showed me everything and kept me informed of the repair process. His total cost was less than $ 130.00; very reasonable. I would highly recommend A-​1 Plumbing, he is fast and his prices are SUPER reasonable.

Our experience with A-​1 Plumbing was very good. Mr. Todd Mummert was very professional and courteous. He arrived when he said that he would and cleared out our stopped-​up drain in no time. We’ve had other plumbing companies come out in the past for the same clogged drain and they charged 2 – 3 times what A-​1 charged. Quick to come out for my bathtub drain that was completely clogged. After 24 hours the water still wouldn’t drain from the tub. Todd tried snaking from the bathtub drain – wouldn’t work. He went under the house and showed me what the problem was. Because of the way my pipes had been placed, the snake was inclined to go up the roof ventilation rather than continue towards the clog. He went up on the roof and snaked through the vent to get to the problem. Thankfully that worked and I can now take a shower again! Thank you so much!

Today we experienced a clog in our tub and happened to call A1 plumbing since they are near. He comes out and complains that is too much work and in the end he came out for nothing. We then had to call roter rooter and they completed the job with no complaints. Next time if your going to be on call A1 plumbing make sure you don’t flake out on the job. Very frustrated customer.

Owner Todd came to my house right away, on a Saturday. Got a fair deal, he worked quickly and seemed honest. I’d recommend.

I called A-​1 Plumbing at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning and Todd came out in the afternoon to help us with a leaking/​plugged toilet. It’s hard to find someone reliable and dependable on a weekend holiday. Todd was creative in trying to find solutions after the standard snake, plunger options didn’t work. He had every plumbing expert trick up his sleeve (or more accurately, in his truck). Great work.

Our sink was somehow clogged (one of my brothers must have done something, idk), we tried to fix it ourselves but that didn’t go well. Not only did we all have busy schedules as a family, but we don’t have all the knowledge, and wanted to make sure it was fixed correctly. After searching on Unilocal,Todd seemed like a trustworthy person, so we gave him a call Saturday afternoon. He was able to come fix it the same day. And our sink was back to working in no time. Also he was a nice honest guy, very friendly. I would recommend going to him than any other plumber. If you want somebody you can trust, and somebody who can give you same day appointment. =]

I had a clogged main at my house which has been an issue for years now. I had the main replaced by some other inexperienced plumber that failed to put in clean outs where they were supposed to go and where I had told him to put them. The reason I say this is because it’s a huge pain for me to snake it myself (about every 2 years) because it needs 100+ feet of cable. I get tire of dishonest plumbers so I was hesitant to call anyone but I saw A-​1 Plumbing here on Unilocal and his rating so I called. Happy to say Todd lived up to his rating. Called him at 8 am and he showed up around 11:30 am. He got the main cleared in approx. 20 minutes. If I had done it. well who knows. I’d probably still be working on it. Anyway thanks Todd. Great job and a great guy! I’ve found myself a new plumber. BTW reasonable rates too!

Called around noon, says he will be there at 9:30 pm. It was 9:45 and he still has not showed. I had to call him to see what was up. He said he was very busy at another job, which was understandable since my problem wasn’t an emergency anyway.
He was there the next day 15 min early. We had a clog at our business and he fixed it. He also did some repair work to our drains on the floor. It was $ 150 for about two hours of his time, which I didn’t think was too bad since it sure saves me a trip to home depot and rent a snake that would have costed 50 $ a day and I would have not known what I was doing.
All in all, I would call again. He seems to know what he’s doing.

Todd came out right away to help me remove a kitchen faucet that I didn’t have the right tools to get out.
He was clean and worked fast, then after he was finished removing the faucet he actually stayed around and showed us how to install our new faucet on our own to save some money. We were very happy with service and would refer him to others.

We had a late night emergency and they were quick to respond. More importantly, they helped recommend a restoration company and even helped transition the work to the new crew. Todd called me every step of the way to give me an update and help me feel comfortable about what was happening. This means a lot since this was my mom & dad’s home.

Arrived half an hour late.
Asked to use my ladder even though he had one on his truck.
Charged $ 125 for a simple drain clean.
Doesn’t take plastic. Had to dig out the checkbook. Haven’t had to do that in years.

Well, here it is.
Bottom line for my experience: not horrible, but not great. I’ll try someone else next time.

Our friend Betty referred us to Todd. He came out same-​day and quickly diagnosed our problem — a leak in a ½″ copper pipe in the crawl space. Our crawl space is very small, you can only get around on your belly, and he was a bit gun-​shy about going down there, but who can blame him? He once got trapped under his truck while changing the transmission and barely made it out with only a couple of broken ribs. So I offered to go down with him and show him where the leak was. He was nice enough to crawl through the whole space with me and look at some of our old cast iron pipes on the other side of the house, and give me some tips for maintenance and inspection.
Once Todd found the exact point of the leak he had me go back out and turn the water on and off for him as he worked. He used a simple clamp and rubber patch to fix the pipe. Easier and cheaper than cutting the copper pipe, which could have turned into an expensive job quickly. I appreciated the economical solution. And it should last for years, by which time the entire pipe will likely need replacing.
At Todd’s recommendation we replaced the pressure regulator, which was nearing the end of its life and had likely worsened the leak in the pipe. Problem solved, at a good price too.
My only complaints? He was late, which is understandable given the nature of his work. But he did call ahead. And he didn’t discuss costs up front, just wanted to dive in and fix things, but I can’t blame him for that. A couple of minor issues, really.
Todd is a loud east-​coast kinda guy, blunt and direct, but honest and friendly, and he knows his plumbing. We liked him a lot, and will use him again, without hesitation.
I would give a bonus star if I could for his tricked-​out old-​school step van. Sweet.

Something is funky in my pipes. I get it, I own an older home (1940’s). Well, funky is good for a bass line, but bad for piping. Anytime we ran the w/​d, it was backing out through a work sink in the garage, and the kitchen sink was backing up, too. My husband tried to fix it, but nothing worked. After several days without the w/​d or the d/​w running (we couldn’t even wash by hand, without doing it in the bathtub), I called Todd. He was able to come out the same day, and even come out in the evening (so my husband could tell him what he’d been trying and pouring down the drain).
He was able to come at 6 p.m., snaked a pipe (50 ft), and presto-​whammo! No more floods in the garage. The best part? It was only $ 115. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to write a check.
I’m going to be calling him for all my plumbing needs.
PS, I am sick with the flu and in the middle of law school finals, so I really can’t emphasize how amazing he is – I’m unnaturally grouchy right now, and he still made me really happy.

Todd at A-​1 Plumbing is my new go-​to guy. I had a broken water pressure regulator and called him last Saturday afternoon. He showed up promptly with all the parts necessary to fix my problem. After looking over my specific issue, we both realized that it was a bit more work that I described over the phone. Instead of leaving me high and dry, Todd stuck through it and persevered through completion. Todd was careful working around my plants and took the proper precautions during the entire job.
Another cool thing is Todd let me stand around and ask questions while he was working. I value this as I want to learn the first time, so I can save a few bucks by DIY’ing if a similar issue ever pops up.
Overall, I’d recommend Todd to anyone in San Diego County that needs a plumber.
