In addition our company meets all requirements for maintain licensing status. Our company is experienced, has a good reputation, and is known for our professionalism and thoroughness. We had a terrible experience with Robert for our inspection. He spend the majority of his time in my basement on his computer. When we questioned him he said he was putting in the information about the inspection into the report. This was baffling to us since he had yet to look at anything in the home. When he was finishing up we questioned him if would be looking in the attic. He agreed but stated it was not necessary, after a few minutes in the attic he came down to tell us there was mold in the attic. He charged us an additional $ 500 to send out a few mold samples and made use do an official mold report. When we questioned the price he told us that he was not making any money on the mold sampling because that was how much the lab charged to run the samples. When the mold inspector came in he was also baffled because he could locate no Mold, despite Roberts report coming back positive. The Mold inspector reached out to Robert who was unable to provide him with any explanation or information as to where he sampled the mold from and what he saw. When we told the mold inspector how much he charged us for the samples he nearly feel on the floor and stated that the sampling costs about $ 20 at the lab.
Robert also charged us extra to do a ground inspection for a tank and promised he would send pictures of him performing the inspection since he was unable to do it at that time. Needless to say we got no pictures, but he had no problem charging us for it as well. Finally, when we did get the inspection the pictures of the home were not right and he reported that we had no doors in the home which was also false.
Needless to say it was a terrible experience and he got away with charging us for extra services that turned out to be not needed.
I should have known something was up with him when he was going on and on about how he has all these bad reviews online which were all false and due to him ending past personal relationship with women.

Robert was very thorough throughout the entire inspection. He explained everything in a way that was understandable and was an overall pleasent and humorous individual. The price quoted was the price charged, which was nice. Also, he informed me that although the inspection was over, any further questions I may have, to feel free contacting him and reaching out. I would recommend him to future home buyers.

Bad inspection Report by Robert Hahn.
He was recommended to us by our realtor and all he did was to facilitate the home deal to come through. He did not inform us about the water damage in our family room due to a water seepage from the floor. The entire hardwood floor is moldy and faces frequent seepage and leak from the floor whenever it rains and requires a new flooring, and additional drainage system in the backyard. It is going to cost us 5k to repair this damage. Secondly he never inspected the A/​C unit because the outside temperature was below 60 degrees. We came to know during this summer that the A/​C unit is shot, is at least 24 years old and needs immediate replacement and is not in a working condition. It is going to cost us 12k to replace this A/​C unit.
If u r a new home buyer like us do NOT allow ur realtor to bring in a home inspector of HIS choice. Always CHOOSE YOUR home inspector who gives u an honest inspection report. Sadly we trusted our realtor and this inspector and are facing these issues. If we knew about these issues before buying the property we wouldn’t have bought this place. Wish i could give him a zero star rating.

Mr. Robert Hahn, of Family Building Inspections, LLC.; failed to provide honesty, integrity and quality service during our home inspection. Horrible communication and was in a rush to complete inspection. Noteworthy costly items were overlooked and marked as satisfactory /​functional on our report. We had to point major items out to him to be listed on report. Further visual inspections conducted by our Insurance company and by multiple contractors caught the issues without close inspection. Failure to test and observe working order on interior items were also incorrectly reported on inspection report. Likes to point out his high end costly equipment and that he was featured on a tv show, but his lack of attention to detail and unprofessional manner cost us after we closed.

Communication & time management is key in this world and Robert is lacking in all forms. He does not answer emails, he does not respond to voicemails, he does not answer calls and he does not follow up on test results in a timely manner. Robert was also late to our scheduled home inspection.
Once he has your check in hand he is basically off the face of the earth. He overcharged me on the final bill vs. what he quoted me, without explanation of any kind. He provided minimal help on questions after the inspection and I still question if he even actually inspected the entire house. I would never recommend him for any home inspection.
