History
Established in 1895.
G.L. Manchester began selling pipe fittings on Liberty Street in 1895. It became a complete hardware store and eventually moved to 65 Union Street. Manchester Company was incorporated by the state of Massachusetts in 1911. In 1963 it was bought by George Stawarz who expanded it. In 1969 it became a member ot True Value, a co-op of independant hardware stores.
The store is commited to the serving the community.
