Ed’s Auto Body

My first visit to Ed’s was wonderful. They quoted fair prices and did great work. I continued to go for a few other repairs until a few male friends told me I was paying way too high a price for repairs. I decided to shop around. I was quoted a price of $ 650 for a new timing belt when the dealer told me $ 500. Of course I went to the dealer and got a new car to drive to boot while my car was being fixed. I called Ed’s again for a quote for a new oil pan… I was quoted a price that was $ 120 higher than I ended up being charged elsewhere. When I mentioned this to the assistant manager he got defensive and said, «Yeah. But were they going to put in all the new parts I was going to?» I gave them a glowing review on their website and wish it could be erased as, now, I think I was given high prices because I was female. I just picked up my car today and I am just as pleased and at ease as I was the first time I brought a vehicle to Ed’s about 11 years ago. I sincerely trust and appreciate these people which is a big deal because, honestly, who can you say that about these days??? I’m bringing my car back in the Fall to have them do some paint work on it and I’m very excited because I know the work will be amazing!!! I honestly don’t mind seeing these people again because they are absolutely delightfully charming :) So, If you want excellent work done and to deal with as we say in Mass «Wicked Awesome» people, go to Ed’s Auto Body!!!

When you look for an auto body shop, you hope for three things: great work, great value, and great service. It may be blasphemy to say it, but Ed’s Auto Body is the holy trinity of car shops.
I recently bought a used 2012 VW Golf, which was in great shape but needed the rocker panel repaired. I got four estimates, which came in at A) $ 500 (Ed’s, estimating two days for the work), B) $ 500 (a different shop owned by a somewhat sketchy-​seeming guy, who estimated four days to do the work), C) $ 850, and D) $ 1300. Obviously, all things considered, I chose option A: a great price with a quick turnaround.
Once I saw my repaired car, it was obvious that I’d made the right decision. As Ed explained what they’d done, I saw that they’d gone out of their way to match edges, texture, and paint to make the seam invisible – even though the repair had required that they cross a structural line on the car that could have been unsightly. Beautiful work.
Three months later, I brought the car in for a regular oil change. I was surprised to get an appointment the day I called, but it turned out that their phones were working only intermittently (not their fault; a storm-​related problem), and people weren’t necessarily able to get in touch. Joanne, who works the office, was quite distraught that the phones were down – not because they might lose business, but because, as she said, «What if our customers need us?»
And THIS is the element that makes Ed’s Auto Body something special. It’s a real pleasure to deal with Joanne, Ed, Dana, and everyone else you’ll run into there. They actually CARE about you, in what seems like a throwback to an earlier era of customer service, and they do whatever it takes to get you on your way as quickly and easily as possible. While I was sitting in the office waiting for the oil change to be done, I heard them discussing the best way to serve several other customers, arranging, for instance, to have a special kind of battery delivered after-​hours to Dana’s HOME so that he could have the car ready early for the customer the next morning.
Above and beyond, in every way. They’ve made a customer for life.

All auto repair shops should drive to deliver the exceptional customer service and workmanship provided by Ed and Dana. They are truly head and shoulders above the rest of the competition!
For me, it was a damaged front bumper that needed to be replaced and painted, and all parts refitted again. Timing was the absolute worst because we were getting ready to move out of the state in less than 1 week!!! Ed offered to stay open later than usual so I could drop off my car the same day we called so we could get things going asap. I explained my situation to Ed and he *really* listened and understood where I was coming from. He provided a very clear picture of what would be required and the likely time frame, and also that he would still do his best to beat that average time frame so I could get my car back in time for my move. Otherwise, I would have to travel back nearly 500 miles to pick up my car at a later date. Our move date was non negotiable, unfortunately. And if it came to that, I asked if I could stop by on a weekend to pick it up… they’re normally closed on weekends, but Ed said he would be happy to meet me on a weekend. Well, by the end of the week and only a few days after I dropped off the car, Ed and Dana were able to finish the repairs and painting DAYS before a typical repair… what a life saver this was!!! Even the insurance claims adjuster agent was amazed at how quickly everything was done.
No one likes to deal with auto body repairs after an accident… but Ed’s Auto Body makes this painful process as painless as possible!

I brought my car to Ed after I got hit by someone making a left turn. The right-​front side of my car was pretty bashed up, and the accident knocked my wheel out of alignment and damaged the strut.
Joanne was super helpful in walking me through the claim process, getting the insurance company to respond, and setting me up with a loaner car so I could get to work.
The work Ed, Dana, and the crew did is phenomenal. Car looks better than when I bought it! The paint job looks great, a perfect color match. The fender is completely replaced, the headlights working again. I am so happy!
I’ll definitely take my car back to Ed for oil changes and mechanical work, and I have already recommended Ed’s to a friend who was rear-​ended. Very happy customer!

Brought my car in after a neighbor backed into my door and shattered the mirror. Every one at Ed’s was incredibly helpful and nice. Walked me through the steps of filing a claim and actually did most of them for me. I also had them touch up some other areas of the car that had paint damage while they replaced my car door. Gave me a great price on the extra work!
Just picked up the finished result and it looks GREAT! Can’t tell they replaced the door. Blended the paint for the new door into my front door and side panel so their is no visible change in color. Looking at my car I wouldn’t even know it wasn’t the original paint job.
I also got my tiers rotated and an oil and filter change done. Good price on this as well. Match what you would get at Jiffy lube and the likes but i actual trust they do a good job. Didn’t try to up sale me on anything like wipers for 5 times what they cost either which was refreshing.
Would and will recommend Ed’s to anyone I know. Trust worthy people with a high quality of service and skills.

I brought my seventeen year old Honda Civic to Ed’s for some rust removal and painting. It turned out that there was more to it than I had thought. Ed took me underneath and gave me a very detailed analysis and printout. I gulped, considered for a day or so, and decided the restoration was worth while. So I went ahead.
Ed and Joann are terrific people and seem dedicated to being the best. They are. The proof (test) is in the finished product. I can only say… WOW !!!
«Good as new «is an overused phrase, but in this case it’s completely accurate. The car gleamed throughout. Ed did even more than agreed upon. I drove home beaming, and two days later I still smile when I look at it.
Perfection doesn’t come at cut-​rate prices, nor can it be achieved overnight. Be patient and you’ll be rewarded with one of the better investments you’ll ever make.

The bumper on my 2004 Corolla was squashed in a parking lot hit and run. I didn’t want to spend $ 600 to have it repaired. Ed said they could take off the bumper, heat it up, get the (BIG) dent out of it and reaping for $ 125. It came out great! I wasn’t looking for perfect, so I was very, very happy.
