History

Established in 2013.

«I spent a number of years in the pest-​control business in another state where I saw what might be called the „old way“ to operate. A truck parked at the front of a home, a worker using a small B&G and sprayed insecticide in what seemed to be an indiscriminate and imprecise fashion. Not only did this method seem to require more frequent treatments, it often led to complaints by customers about chemicals not being applied properly or efficiently. I decided I wanted to do things a better way. That’s why I started ClearDefense Pest Control.»

Josh is the General Manager who oversees all operations including pest control, mosquito control, and termite control for ClearDefense Pest Control of Raleigh-​Durham. His incredible work ethic and willingness to help customers fits right in with our company culture. Josh has years of experience in the industry and is more than qualified to be our GM as we know we are in good hands to have a leader as himself to take care of any of our customers in need of pest control in the Raleigh-​Durham area.

This company was professional and quick to respond to questions as well as set up our service. Jeff Elrod was our technician and his thoroughness was second to none. It’s been a week since our service, and I am amazed at the difference from constant spiders and flying «things» to absolutely nothing in site. We and our dogs are loving it.
Clear Defense was definitely the right choice, and they are a local growing business. Check them out!

We’re at the start of a 2 year contract and so far have been exceptionally pleased! Jake came to discuss us signing up with ClearDefense after an unsatisfactory experience with a competitor’s company. He started answering my questions right away and when he didn’t have an answer, he called Drew for clarification. I was amazed when the doorbell rang a few minutes later and saw Drew standing there. He wanted to see the issue for himself before we could discuss a course of action. It was the most pleasant experience and both gentlemen exuded confidence in their product and company.
A few days later, Jonathan came to perform the service. He called beforehand to see if he could come early (Wha-​what!!!), arrived promptly, discussed everything with me, then got to work. He knocked on the door when he was finished and gave me a detailed description of what he found and how he handled it.
Everyone I have spoken to has been professional and EXTREMELY personable. If the service is even half as good as the customer service, I’m very excited to have ClearDefense working on our pest issues!

Highly recommend Jason and this company! Unlike any other outfit I have worked with before! Much more professional, thorough, patient, detailed, service oriented etc. They use safe and premium products and are in line with all of the other vendors pricewise. Their payment options are flexible with a discount for full year commitment etc. They even go out into the yard 15 or so ft, up the walls 3 – 4′ unlike others do just the edge of the house. Jason even took care of a red ant nest. dont bother with the others!

I’m all about customer service and like companies who make it a priority. Mark from Clear Defense just came out for my first session and he was courteous, knowledgeable, thorough, and — most importantly — not afraid of the damn wasps plaguing my house!
I ask a lot of questions and like to understand and see the process and he was so cool with explaining things to me and making me feel assured that if I have ANY issues whatsoever to give them a call back.

I absolutely couldn’t be happier. We are blown away by the level of customer service and professionalism at ClearDefense. We checked out a few of the other services and this felt right. A week later, we are thrilled with our decision.
I worked with Chase on Day 1. Excellent communication and so very nice. How often do you get the opportunity to work with local businesses for your home needs and actually have the opportunity to connect and enjoy the relationship? This was wonderful. Our technician, Jonathan Wilcox, visited just days later and treated our new home and went above and beyond. He was so nice and so professional. Not to mention I haven’t seen a spider or bug since.

If there’s one thing I hate more than anything it’s roaches! So when I found some in the house we moved into 3 weeks ago I lost it. I went on Unilocal and found Clear Defense Pest Control. They had really good reviews. Aaron came out this morning and put my mind at ease. He was so informative and walked me through every step of the process. I really felt like he was making sure that the house was covered and the problem had been taken care of. I especially appreciate that the company follows up after 30 days and will come back out of anything more needs to be taken care of. I would highly recommend them for your pest control needs!

We’ve been using Clear Defense for over a year and I still love them! Matt came to our house today and was quick to address some «spider issues» we have been having (’tis the season!) and is going to be sending another technician out on Saturday so that they can treat the exterior of the house (since it was raining today).

We had a German roach infestation that we assumed had been taken care of by another exterminator. However, the infestation proved to be more prevalent than we realized after we rented out our home to friends with a new baby. After a very frustrating week of the new parents not feeling safe in the home they just rented, we switched to ClearDefense and had the reassurance of Josh that all roaches would be taken care of in three weeks. Now, three weeks later, no live roaches can be found. The customer service during the entire process was fantastic and I could talk with Josh whenever I needed to. This was a very personal matter to us and Josh completely understood. Not only was the customer service outstanding, but they also were experts in how to exterminate German roaches. I would highly recommend them to others.

Update — Clear Defense makes my day yet again! We seem to have a little mouse that likes to escape the stickiest of situations.
Today, Mike was my technician (I hope you all keep him around for a while!) and I once again, was thoroughly blown away by the level of customer service provided. Let me back up by mentioning that I called yesterday afternoon upon discovering that our kitchen drawers had a few mousey ‘leftovers’ in them. I spoke with Chris, who was very kind and attentive to my rambling on about this mouse that is driving me crazy, and got me scheduled right away (the following day — today) for a visit from Mike. So cheers to Chris as well for being as fantastic in the office as his colleagues are in the field.
Mike was extremely kind, and thorough, he even made me laugh about the Ratatouille type personality of our escape artist mouse. After removing the old traps, he placed new ones, as well as a bait box outside. He was about to leave when I mentioned that my upstairs bathroom window has become the Halloween-​esque home for quite a few spiders. Without hesitation he went out to his vehicle and retrieved their pest spray, sprayed down (in between the two windows) the creepy crawlies. Being sure to mention that they were not black widows, like we had dealt with in the past.
A big thank you again to Mike and Chris for helping me out so quickly!

This review is not about the pest control provided by the company — that may be fantastic as other people have mentioned. This review is about the sales tactics used in our neighborhood that have upset many of my neighbors including me.
They have been pushy in their sales tactics and have out right lied to neighbors saying other people have signed up when we didn’t. They have banged on doors at 9:00 at night. Basically they have become pests themselves. Our neighborhood has a Facebook page and have shared these bad experiences with our entire neighborhood. I don’t think they can count on much business here.

We’ve been using Clear Defense for a little over a year and are very pleased with the service. Our old house (with a different pest control service) was always riddled with silverfish and beetles even after treatment days. So far, I’ve seen absolutely zero silverfish and the only beetles I’ve seen have been in the garden.
We also had a few black widow sitings before we hired Clear Defense. I am happy to report that I have not seen one since the first treatment from Clear Defense.
I have 2 young kids and Brandon at Clear Defense has always been very respectful of where and when he sprays. Great company with great people!

We were just getting settled in our new Raleigh pad when the cockroaches came out to play. My husband barely got the word «EW» out, and there was a knock at the door. It was Clear Defense. They were in the neighborhood and saw that we were moving in, and offered their services. Their pricing was quite reasonable and they seemed really reliable.
Chase set us up and sprayed the inside of our house, and Jae Wojna sprayed the exterior a few days after, since it was raining at the time. Their spray is people and pet friendly, and within minutes we were finding dead bugs. We have had the spray for a few days and have noticed a significant reduction in bugs, and the product doesn’t even really stink!
They followed up via email and phone, just as they said they would and were courteous and professional each time.
I would strongly recommend this company to get rid of your pests (bugs, not people!)
