Nature’s Oasis is more than a corner market, it’s a cornerstone market for Durango and the Four Corners Region, a place owners Sherri and Jeff Watson have called home for more than thirty years. More than a super market, it’s a superb market that, under one roof in one beautiful facility, houses the diverse products and food of a healthy life. Nature’s Oasis is home to River Liquors, Serious Delights, and Sunnyside Farms Market.

Established in 1993.

Nature’s Oasis has been owned and lovingly nurtured since 1993 by Sherri and Jeff Watson who met while attending Fort Lewis College. When they first bought their original small store, they had a dream to expand and become the area’s place for natural and organic groceries. Now, having opened their doors at 300 S. Camino del Rio in the fall of 2008, they are truly «Durango’s Great Natural Market».

Three salad plate in the deli for $ 7.99!!! Homemade potato salad (traditional) was the best! Tuna with cilantro and lime was very good but the slaw didn’t have enough dressing in my humble opinion. Heaping servings — fresh with great flavor!

As an organic-​eating vegan shopping can be difficult — especially true in smaller towns. I didn’t know what to expect in Durango but was beyond pleased to find this store. It had everything I needed to stock a cabin for 5 days. We ended going back before leaving to stock up. I’d give it 5 stars but it was expensive.

What an awesome market here in Durango. Great juice bar/​prepared foods section with salads, soups and many others items with vegan options. Glad I hit up that bulk section with organic options and raw honey in bulk! The prices here are reasonable and they had a bunch of items on sale. Also the staff was super friendly. What more can you ask for in a local market?!

this place was the happiest staff on the planet ! great sandwiches made to order and the best beat salad ever ! Their meat department is incredible… scottish western ross salmon is amazing. They also make their own sausage (i recommend the blueberry banger). Bakery is really great as well.

My partner is from Durango so we are in Durango often to visit family and of course get out into Nature. We make the drive 2 — 3 times annually from Denver. Since we are health nuts, we frequetn Nature’s Oasis each time.
Not only are the products you find at Nature’s Oasis increcibly fresh and reflects what we are looking for, the service is also spectacular! You don’t hear people brag about great service from university aged kids, however they are knowledgable about what they serve and prepare as well as so friendly and hold a great conversation (and eye contact… a rare find)
Kudo’s. Now if only we could get them to Denver!!!

Whether you want to pick up groceries to take home, a juice or coffee or a delectable lunch, Nature’s Oasis has you covered. I worked near here and felt so fortunate that is was so convenient. To die for daily lunch specials and all the groceries that are harder to find at the chain stores, plus a friendly and helpful staff make this place stand out.

Being able to purchase healthy, organic and delicious food is very important to me. Every time I have step foot in this market, I am always greeted with very friendly service and smiles. The employees are clearly happy, the market is very clean and I am always able to find what I am looking for.
If you want to avoid purchasing meat that is filled with growth hormones etc, definitely come here! They have an amazing selection of meat from sunny side! That means, happy cows!
The price of food is higher here but because it actually has quality and is healthy!

When I come back home to Durango I definitely miss Whole Foods but thanks to Nature’s Oasis I can get some yummy, organic, fresh food whenever I need it!
Right away this place reminds me of Whole Foods but it’s more homey and local since it’s in a small town. I really like the deli they have with the fresh salads, sandwiches and smoothies. I like to come with my mom and get the 3 salad plate for around $ 8: they give you a rather large serving of three salads of your choice, and you can take it home or eat it right there in a little seating area they have in the front of the store. The produce is great and they have a lot of legit items; I could spend hours just perusing the aisles!

We love Nature’s Oasis and regularly shop there. It’s like a mini Whole Foods in Durango. While it can get expensive, they have a great selection. And, the staff is always super helpful & friendly.
Our only complaint were the breakfast burritos. On two occasions, the potatoes were totally undercooked, which took away from the eating experience.
That said, the rest of the Deli items have always been fresh and tasty. We often go for lunch when seeking seeking healthy food in a hurry.

Great store — like a Whole Foods, but with more individuality. We met an extremely helpful employee who helped us make wise bulk-​food selections for our camping trip.
Lessons learned:
At altitude, the instant soup and couscous are godsends.
Mix the sesame and wild rice sticks for snacking. Likewise, mix the fig, apple, and berry bars. Yum!

This is usually the only store we ever shop at when we come to town since it is the only place to get really great organic items.
Almost every item in the store is organic. All of the produce is organic, which is great unless they don’t have something specific you are looking for. The selection is limited but at least you know you are getting the best quality ingredients. There are other various prepared and boxed items in the store that are organic as well. They also have a great bulk section in this store.
The health and beauty section is very large and full of cruelty free items for me and my husband. There is also a very large selection of vitamins and other health related items.
The prices are fair, though those who think its cheaper than Whole Foods are wrong. I find that some of the items here are more expensive than my own local Whole Foods.
They even have organic pet food, which was awesome since I forgot to pick up some for my cat before we left town.
If you are looking to invest in your health and care about quality ingredients, this is the store to shop at in Durango.

I really loved their new location! The new store layout was much cleaner and had a better flow. The smell was intoxicating; fresh fruits and vegetables everywhere. Not once did I purchase something that wasn’t fresh.
Their cilantro tuna is delicious. I have moved and dang’it… I CRAVE it. A little pricey for tuna fish, but so worth the extra coin.
Their employees are cool and laidback, and always extra helpful.
I sincerely miss this store. I miss the hometown charm.

If you’re lucky, you’ll stumble in one morning to find them serving biscuits and gravy at the deli. The biscuits are big, fluffy, whole wheat monsters made by the Simply Delights bakery, and the gravy is made with sausage from Sunnyside Meats. Overall, the BEST biscuits and gravy I’ve EVER had. And it doesn’t leave you feeling disgusting either.
Other things I’m loving: Their sweet corn fritters with sweet chili dipping sauce, their Black Pearl organic salmon, their coffee bacon, and their bulk foods aisle, where I buy everything from falafel mix to organic oatmeal to natural peanut butter.

Nature’s Oasis is by far the nicest cleanest newest healthy food store I have ever been in. They have everything any Whole Foods has except the crazy prices! They are fairly priced for their goods. They also have decent local, raw, and fresh made salads and a yummy bakery too. I didn’t see beer in their store but I’ll bet their neighbor «The Wine Merchant» will have beer if Nature’s O doesn’t. You must support this store so that they may survive as a niche between the diehard hardcore hippies that say «Shop only at the Durango Co-​op» and the «I’m a gonna get mah groceries from Walmart» crowds. Keep them in business or else WF will swoop in and gobble them up and you’ll see their prices double under the WF name.

Wow! The wine merchant was pretty cool, but my favorite part was the bakery, Serious Delights. Try the individual cherry pies — the crust is so buttery it is almost a shortbread. And the croissants… mmmm…pumpkin cheesecake with bourbon whipped cream. The ingredients are all organic and the fantastic breads are all made with natural starters, so they are chock full of helpful bits of life for your digestive system, which will basically have a party here. If you visit, be sure to tell the baker that Jolie sent you.
