The restaurant’s name has been changed from Hometown Country Buffet to Sweet Baby Jane’s. The restaurant hasn’t updated the name change on Unilocal

To: Steven S. Buffet is not $ 8.00 anymore, they have went up about a month ago when new management came in. Drinks are not included with the $ 8 price and now its pushing $ 10, on up there with Golden Corral. Not sure if management knows but they are pricing them self out of the market with other buffets offering similar food at a lower price. You know where I’ll be going — not here. «I wrote a review last year about this place. I went in today and it was the same. Come on guys what the hell are you guys doing?! The food isn’t great! Everything is processed or either canned food. The price is reasonable for the food your getting, $ 8.00 »

I wrote a review last year about this place. I went in today and it was the same. Come on guys what the hell are you guys doing?! The food isn’t great! Everything is processed or either canned food. The price is reasonable for the food your getting, $ 8.00 was my total and I’m not going back again. If your looking for a buffet just go to Golden Corral.

This place is awesome. Great southern cooking. Wonderful selections like mom use to make. The chicken livers are the best. The only thing I wish they had was honey butter. If you go you gotta sit in Ruby’s section. She is the greatest. My glass is never empty. She remembers you and your drink order. Always friendly with smile. Oh and the price can’t be beat. Under $ 8 and that’s with a free tea.

This place is so good! I’ve been to a few places that are the same southern buffet style, however this one is probably the best. The fried chicken was hot and tender. The catfish was awesome. The catfish filets were thick and fried just right. The best thing for me however were the chicken gizzards. I love chicken gizzards and they had the best chicken gizzards I have ever had. I strongly recommend this restaurant to everybody. The price is awesome at 8 bucks for the buffet and that includes a sweet tea. Hell yes!

love it. taste like lowa. honest, bold, simple foods. It cost less than 10 dollars for amazing southern foods. Half and half Ice tea is a plus! I cannot wait to go back!

The cost is the reason you cannot complain about the decent food served here. I went with meat eating guest and they felt the meats were ok. I felt the vegetables were just ok. The reason I will not give it 4 stars is because some of the staff were not able to confirm the ingredients of the menu items. Considering I do not eat meat that is a big deal and especially at a buffet where the items were not listed. I didn’t want to take the chance on trying something that I assumed was animal free only to find later it was not. Our waiter was VERY attentive and I am very impressed with him. We left full so I would go back if I were in the area and looking for something cheap.

I was very disappointed when I visited this place. I know you get what you pay for but I thought I was going to get at least one food I like at this place… but I ended up getting out of there hungry. Their iced tea was decent though… and the owner seemed very nice and the server was helpful.

You get what you pay for. Home style cooking for a really affordable price. For about $ 8 you can eat whatever you want, they have a pretty good selection. Not like the Corral or Syd’s, but the prices and lines are not like those places either. If you don’t want affordable American eats, go somewhere else.

My friend and I found this place by accident. We were wanting to eat at an Italian restaurant, but found this place instead. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to eat here, because it was country-style food and it was a buffet. meaning. «TIMETOGETFAT». hahahaha! My friend looked it up on Unilocal on her phone and told me that there were several reviews but not enough reviews. but the place got 3 stars. so it was decent. I figured. why not! Since I didn’t want her to continue driving around and around. since gas prices also went up. The front side of the restaurant doesn’t look appealing at all. look like another Asian style buffet restaurant. boy was I wrong! As we entered the restaurant, the layout was very homey-like(is that even a word?) and I felt really comfortable when they hostess greeted us with a smile and I think she was trying to be funny, too, but my friend and I heard a voice greeting us but we couldn’t see her. then POP! out of nowhere. there is was! With a nice friendly greeting and smile! I liked that a lot! I like friendly people. anyways, the food was fresh, but I wouldn’t recommend getting the lean pork chop(was labeled Pork Chop), because it was really dry. I think that’s about it. just the pork chop was disappointing, because I usually like any style of pork chop. The cheese grits tasted soooooo delicious, then it tasted super delicious when I added black pepper to it! YUM-O!!! There isn’t a very large selection of food but that’s fine by me. I don’t eat much anyways. The salad bar was very fresh as well! Hands down to this place. seriously! They also have desserts, but I’m not really a sweets person anymore. If you ever eat here, then please write a review for the desserts. I’d really like to know! Thanks in advance! Teehee!!! Our waiter, J.J. was very friendly and funny! He was attentive and was always there whenever we needed him. All you can eat buffet for $ 7.54 + tax which came up to a total of $ 8. And if you’re a vegetarian or a vegan, then you can eat at the salad bar for $ 5 and it’s also including coffee, green tea, unsweetened tea and sweet tea. Other soft drink beverages costs a little bit more, though, but I wouldn’t know, because I order any. Oh oh. and the regular buffet also includes the coffee, green tea, unsweetened tea and sweet tea. Fair warning, though. the sweet tea is super sweet, so you may want to mix unsweetened tea and sweet tea together. maybe half and half? I’m going to get that on my next visit. The cashier lady was very nice as well. She was on the phone but told whoever she was on the phone with to hold on, because my friend needed to pay for our food and go. So it was a very good dinner! **NOTE: Also, every day has a different set of food(different food every day). Today was a Wednesday and they served fried catfish. I would highly recommend the fried catfish, because it tasted real fresh and there a good amount of batter and it was very crispy. I liked the crunch in it! Another thing, they are always closed on Mondays. That’s about it! Thanks for taking your time to read my review! I hope you guys enjoy it, too!

I was looking for a decent selection for country(southern) buffet. This place gave me exactly what I wanted. The food was constantly fresh. And the staff was incredibly friendly. I’ve found a new favorite place to eat.

I too would much prefer the buffet up the street. I also think that the fried chicken is atrocious. It’s cut up into small pieces which made it hard for me to differentiate what piece is what part because I like to eat dark meat only, and also it was very dry like others have said. I’m clearly serious about my fried chicken. Anyways, the other items aren’t very good either. I probably won’t come back.

This place is not for me. There isn’t much of a selection and the food is just bleh. The mashed potatoes taste like they came straight from a box and everything else was just yuck. I’d much rather go to the buffet up the street. Service was decent though, our plates were cleared without us having to ask.

Affordable price and great taste. They have hot and salad bar. I’m not a great fan of country food, but I love their food and like it
