Discount Tire Store – Duluth, GA

Bought a set of 4 tires here. Staff and time in/​out etc. were perfect. The guy helping me was super awesome and easy to work/​deal with.

This place is located conveniently next to kroger. I havent exactly bought tires from this place, but every time my low pressure tire light comes on, i come here.
The complimentary tire pressure check service is so convenient. The guys are always really friendly, and I know it isnt required but I always try to tip them a little something.
I know that if I need tire services, these people will take good care of my car~ :)

Terry was great to deal with and my best experience at discount tire in years. Extremely professional and helpful not pushy at all. I had a tire repaired and I will be needing to replace all four tires within 6 months and I will drive across town to do business at this location.

Brought my car there to get a tire replaced earlier today. They were helpful, friendly and quick! I was in and out in about 30 – 40 mins. So fast! I’ll definitely be back for future tire purchases.

I was really hopefully optimistic I had found the perfect deal, but I should have known it was too good to be true. I had spoken to both Oscar and Tim over the phone and was specifically told that not only they would price match, they would also still honor the $ 70 promotional offer with the purchase of 4 new Michelin tires.
When I arrived, and after an invoice was created, the quoted price was far different (almost $ 60 not including tax) from the price and discounts I was told I would receive over the phone.
I wish phone calls were recorded so that I could have had proof of the quote I received other than the sheet of paper I was writing on. I was told they would honor both the price matching and still receive the promotional offer for Michelin and that «they’d take care of it.»
The workers here seem really nice, but likely require additional training on promotional offers. I totally Iberians promotional offers can’t be combined, I wish they could have still honored the price offered since it was their mistake.
Just be very careful when agreeing to purchase from here, as the «out the door» price quoted might not always be the «out the door» price charged.
Besides the poor customer service, the facility is clean and spacious. They offer free water bottles and coffee just like other places. There is no Wi-​Fi, but you get to watch your car in the shop which is nice. It’s definitely comforting to watch your car & make sure things are done properly.
I would have given this place 5 stars had they at least acknowledged their mistake, but they denied it completely. They are really nice & friendly which is why it’s hard for me to give them only 1 star. I just feel like they could have done better especially since I was misquoted.

Still great! I came here to get a new set of yokohama tires for my car. They have great customer service as always and had my car done in a hour! Also informed me of a great price and rebate going on which was a bonus! Will be back for a checkup on my tires soon!

I pulled in with a flat tire. The staff person quickly put my spare tire on. He said they would call me when my new tire was ready. They called me an hour later and I drove back. They put the new tire on quickly. Everything went smoothly. I live close by so I will probably go back again.

I can’t even believe how good this place is. Came in to replace 2 fairly expensive tires and although I knew one tire was close to bad. Because they said it was not safe they took care if me. I am speechless and will always come back to this location. Special shout out to Curtis.

I had a nail that went in side ways and found all the positive stars on this site So I went there and they were right! Nice friendly folks and reasonable prices

Everyone here is so nice! The sales guy did try to get me to upgrade on a bunch of things like extra warranty for my tires but backed off a bit when I said no. I usually don’t like to support big franchises and love the mom and pops shops but this place had prices were on par with Sams Club/​Costco tire prices (2 dollars cheaper per tire for my set of Michelin Defenders). I chose Discount Tire because they offer free rotations and would fix my flats for free. (YAY!) I made an appointment for 5pm. It was packed but they had my tires done by 6pm.
Note: They had a special $ 70 dollars Visa Rebate if you bought your tires May 1^st-​31^st. I bought mine June 3^rd and asked them about the rebate. Rebates are dealt through a totally different part of the company and they didn’t really know much about it. The sales guy said he THINK they have a 1 day grace period but wasn’t sure. I called as soon as I got home and the representative took my information and invoice number. She said I should get my rebate in 2 – 4 weeks. Lets hope I do! I’ll update once I actually get my rebate; =P

I was shopping around for set of tires for my Honda. I did some research on prices at tirerack, costco and discount tire to see which deal was the best. Also two of my friends referred me to this place.
I had to read up a bit on the TPMS rebuild kits and the certificates which Discount tire offered. I was shown what they are and they showed me how corrosion had set it on those TPMS stems on my car which is about 5 years old now. So I decided to take the TPMS kits. I was offered a better package on those than what was initially quoted.
The certificates were a good deal to me as it was like an insurance. You never know when you need it. it seemed like a bargain with the amount of tire blowouts and treads I have seen on the roadsides/​freeways in GA… They matched the price from the tirerack which included shipping which was a fair deal. Kept talking more and got a little more discounts :-) Now wonder they are called «Discount tire».
Lot of parking space and the a nice waiting area. You can even see the mechanics working on your car which is good and improves confidence.
Free tire rotation and air pressure checks was an added bonus. and there are lot of discount tire stores all over.

Lately I’ve been writing a lot of reviews on Automotive, that’s because I dedicated an entire weekend to my car (she needed basic maintenance and tires). Remember, if you take care of your car, your car will take care of you. My car was in need of new tires, so I decided to get them all replaced at the same time. I know getting a new set of tires can be expensive especially if you’re purchasing brand name tires. I did my homework on what tires I needed for my car, so I called up a friend (who’s in the Automotive Industry) and found exactly what I needed as well as where to go — Discount Tire.
Since my cars staggered fit, I knew that my tires needed to be special ordered but I didn’t know how long it would take. When I looked online at
, it was as I suspected they didn’t have my tires in stock. So I called Discount Tire, put down $ 20.00 and was told they would call me as soon as they came in. Next morning I got a call from them at 8AM and informed they had my tires ready — hella fast. What’s really cool about Discount Tire is they check everything for you, down to your rims (there’s no point in getting new tires if you have bent rims). Usually the installation process should take 15−30mins on average, but the process took about an hour; it was quite the busy Saturday (so I can understand). The place was clean, they didn’t have TV or wifi, luckily I had games on my phone to kill time. What’s cool (to me at least) is they have seats where you can see the bay. I like looking at what’s being done to my car (that’s just a personal choice). After my car was done, they checked me about, got my rebate, and was on my way. Overall Good.

Simple flat tire swap in and out in an hour and the place was busy but they took care of someone needing to get on down the road. Great friendly professional staff

Service was scary fast! I always talk about customer service but it literally took them 10 – 15 minutes to check and fix my tire. I expected to be there much longer. It was like a dream come true!

I like good customer service. My recent visit was a study in just that. In the twenty minutes that it took to rotate and balance my tires, at least four employees greeted and thanked me for my business. There must be an uptick in tire competition.

i like this place.
not saying they’re perfect by any means, but my service is always quick and efficient.
i bought my tires from there some time ago, so i always go here to get the pressure checked or rotated for free.
i have the certificates as well, so that if the tire gets punctured or something happens and it cannot be repaired, they replace the tire.
this happened, so i didn’t get the certificates in vain.
also, since i had to buy my other tire (that replaced the punctured one) at a different place (discount tire’s not open on sundays), they transferred the certification to my tire bought from the other store.
i’ll keep going there.

I purchased a full set of new tires from this store on May 25, 2011. I always like to start with the positive comments:
— They matched Ford’s price for a slightly smaller set of tires on my word, they did not bother to verify Ford’s offer. Very impressive.
— Super quick, professional installation, no more than 20 minutes.
— Free bottled water, a wonderful thing in the 95 degree Atlanta heat.
— The work invoice was later emailed to me, this was appreciated.
The negatives:
— One of their salespersons walked up to my car right after I pulled in, certainly an aggressive approach. Was I being carjacked? No, it turned out. I immediately wondered if the sales people are on commission. I called the Discount Tire regional office, the sales folks meeting customer at their cars is normal procedure for them.
— I mentioned to one of the employees (propagandist?) that I was also looking at Sumitomo tires. His response was «They’re no good. I had Sumitomos on my Trans-​Am and I hated them.» (Perhaps not coincidentally, Discount Tire does not carry Sumitomos). Hmm, current Consumer Reports tests rate Sumitomo tires very highly. This was a blatant used car sales approach, which only serves to damage Discount Tire’s credibility.
— This was the main and most annoying issue: Two employees tried to sell me an extended warranty after we had already agreed on the price. They asked three times if I wanted the warranty.
— Upon the completion of work, I was given the wrong price at checkout, $ 8 above the stated, agreed upon price.
— Tire shine was slathered onto my tires. I was not asked if I wanted the tire shine, which is not recommended by tire manufacturers. After driving off, the tire shine was slung onto the sides of my car, which required an otherwise unneeded trip to the car wash.
I’ll do business at the Duluth Highway/​Lawrenceville location from now on. My experiences have been absolutely excellent before today, and I have purchased many sets of tires from this store. Not again.
Postscript on June 22, 2011: During tire installation, two of the custom valve stem covers were reinstalled so tightly that I was not able to remove them to check the air in the tires! So I made a visit to the Lawrenceville store, another inconvenience.

Not a perfect experience.
I made an appointment online to get four new tires. I arrived about 5 minutes late but they were ready for me. The employees were friendly. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and taken care of. The store was clean. I liked that there was a window so the customers can see into the garage/​work area, just a nice perk.
Even though there were several people in line I got to jump ahead, since I had a reservation. It took about 30 minutes to get my tires changed. During that time, I was informed that one of the lugs, the bolts that hold the tire on, was broken and would have to be replaced and one of the lug-​nuts was the wrong size.
They also had trouble removing one of the screws from the lug-​cover as the screw was stripped. When I got the final bill they informed me that they wouldn’t charge me for the replacement lugs/​nuts and that they didn’t have any of the screws that matched the one taken out of the lug-​cover but it is a common screw and cost me $ 0.33 to replace at a hardware store.
I liked that they looked at me when they talked and they were straightforward. They didn’t try to get me to buy extra services or equipment or any «upgrades».
The only gripe: the tires I specified when I made the online reservation were not available when I arrived despite the website saying they were in-​stock. They gave me a similar tire for the same price and offered me a discount on the tire replacement plan. The manager did try to call me about two hours before the appointment to let me know but I couldn’t answer my phone. I called back about a half hour before the appointment but the manager was at lunch so I didn’t know about the tire issue until I got to the store.
I would recommend this store for tires. They had the cheapest price ($ 300 for a set of 4 mid-​range quality, 15″ tires). They were friendly and fast. High quality, low price. The online reservation is very convenient but please call to verify, after you make the appointment, that they have the tires before you drive in.

I can’t really speak to whether I got «the best deal» or not, but I think they were very fair. It’s hard to price tires because of all the size/​brand/​etc. mishmash, so since the price didn’t make me choke, I just went for it.
I actually told the assistant manager that I wanted 4 new tires, and he said I only REALLY needed 3 — so they gave me a «trade-​in» value for the 4^th, because I just figured I might as well get all new ones if I need 3.
Also, I told the guy that due to the nature of my tire woes, I thought my wheel might be jacked up — thereby basically giving him a free pass to inspect it and say «Yep, it’s jacked. That’ll be $X to repair.» But he said it was fine.
Waiting area was nice enough — no tv, but a few magazines, and one of those coffee makers that makes individual cups from pods (which I love!). And there’s a Kroger and a nail place in the same parking lot if you need something to do.
Even if I didn’t like the place, I’d pretty much have to go back now, since lifetime tire rotation, repair, and replacement are covered, and ain’t no way I’m payin’ for any of that shit out of pocket. So I’m glad I DO like the place! :-)
