The meat quality here is the best. so much better than Honey pig and iron age. They don’t use gas to cook that’s why the meat tastes better. All you can eat menu is not good… I will go for Honey pig for AYCE

I was a vegeterian for a while and as soon as I decided to stop, I came here to eat. I love that 678 has a variety of side dishes from egg to corn to vegetables. I also love the variety of meats they sell here(including chicken, for non-red meat eaters). The service is always friendly and willing to help and the atmosphere is nice. It gets very busy in the evening so without reservations, you will have to wait quite a bit on the weekends but my family and I usually go during lunch time when its not as packed.

Sooo good! And very accommodating to my party who had zero idea of what or how to order. Our server walked us through every part and gave great suggestions on things to try. Would love to come here again soon!

What I liked most: Quality of the meat Charcoal grill Service was fine… nothing bad, nothing to write home about. Expecting warm fuzzies at a Korean place is like hoping for Walmart prices at Nieman Marcus. Set your expectations accordingly. I’ve never found it to be rude, but rather just to the point. Banchan were ok, but not as much variety as I’m used to. I enjoyed the variety of greens for wrapping my meat. We ordered the beef combo… we prefer quality over quantity and have been told the AYCE is lower quality. There were four of us and(in my opinion) we had almost too much food. Only thing I missed was the spicy pork. The place was packed and the parking lot is a disaster. I don’t think I would have waited an hour or more for a table, but many people did. Price is reasonable.

I find it funny when there is an ethnic discordance between people and if one isn’t treated properly, it’s automatically because the other is racist. Is it remotely possible that they are just mean people? Or that they have bad service and it has nothing to do with race at all? I have been here with an all Korean crew and have had less than stellar service. We just kept eating and eating and the dude was getting a little pushy about us leaving. He underestimated us. Now, having said that, yes Koreans can be pretty racist haha! However, it’s more of a type where they are usually nice to you and just have bad thoughts in their head. So, if the service sucks, honestly, it’s probably because the idea of customer service is not popular in the Korean restaurant industry, especially the more traditional places(which most are). Either that or they really are racist. What can you do. Also, typically there’s not just one server assigned to you so if you need something, flag down any random person. If you don’t see anyone, just yell out loudly across the room like my dad does. The meat is about as good quality as you’ll find in a Korean BBQ joint in Atlanta. The sides are what probably distinguishes the top quartile restaurants from each other so look at the pics. It can get crazy and busy on the weekends and you’re not always gonna have someone tending to your meat. What? The style is similar to LA with the ring of heated foods around the meat. I love the egg so that’s what does it for me here. The first time we came last year it was really hard to get just plain lettuce to wrap the meat in. My mom had to ask like three times and it was still something different. Just in case you are crazy about the lettuce wrap. I do see pics of standard lettuce but not sure if that was back in the older days. Anyway, avoid weekend nights unless you want to feel the buzz of craziness. And of course it’s gonna be smokey so be prepared. Otherwise, definitely a good place to visit.

Was researching KBBQ places for the visit up to Atlanta and came across this one which stood out cause of the use of charcoal instead of electric burners. We opted for Prime Rib, Pork Belly, and Galbi. The quality of the meat is great and our server seemed like he was busting ass being a server and grabbing items as well as cooking the meat for multiple tables(props to them). Loved the egg that cooks on the side, not sure how it becomes so cloudy and fluffy without mixing but it’s wonderful. Great service, quality meat, unique banchans, different cooking method. Must go place and glad I came here as my one KBBQ meal here in Atlanta.

Good food. Quality of meat is excellent. Good service. Waiter comes often to cook our meat and made sure the side dishes are never empty. Food is a bit more expensive than other Korean BBQ but it’s worth the money.

Great place! Forgot to take a pic before we DEVOURED our food. We ordered beef short ribs, beef brisket and hot and spicy chicken. They bring out the meat raw, but all other sides come with(i.e. rice, small salad, tofu soup, radish, onions, kim chi, etc.). Water is already at the table, but you have soda choices out of the can. The waiter is constantly checking on the cooking of the meat and they move pretty fast so you have to catch them while you can. Overall, it was a pretty good experience my first time here.

Came here with a group of 5 friends to enjoy their AYCE kbbq. We got the 678 Unlimited from the menu. All the meats were pre-marinated and the pork neck was the most enjoyable out of all the meat types we had. However, the pork skin was too spicy for us and so it was least enjoyed by us. Another interesting feature is that there is an O-ring of food that are cooking around the grill, which makes it efficient to have other hot food items. Egg, corn with cheese, and kimchi are just some of the food that cooked in the o-ring. We drank Chungha rice sake with our meat and that tasted very good and refreshing. Overall, great service too. Just be mindful that the smoke from the grilling happened to go in the direction of one person, which that person found to be annoying, but there was no more space for him to move away from it so be mindful that that can happen to someone in your group. 2016-01-06 Edit: Forgot to mention that the price for AYCE kbbq is a bit higher than our average spending budget, which is normally mid-high $ 20s, but it’s worth a one time try for their overall value(= taste + portions + service + selections + price).

After returning from a two week trip to Indiana, I was determined to fulfill my craving for Korean BBQ since I was unable to find any in the area I was in. So as soon as I arrived home, I conducted a quick search of Smyrna/Vinings/Marietta area hoping I could find a decent one. Plus, I just finished an 8 hour road trip and didn’t want to travel too far. Well, to my surprise and disappointment, there are no spots to go to in the immediate area. What’s up with that?! Okay, I’ll just have to bite the bullet on this one and look in Duluth, there will undoubtedly be a lot to choose from. Enter 678. 4 stars on Unilocal? No brainer, I’m definitely going. If looks of the exterior is an indication of what to expect on the inside, it applies here, because this is the ONLY Korean restaurant that I’ve ever been to in my life in which all of the employees greet you upon entering. No kidding, it was a pleasant surprise, a surprise that I truly welcomed! The atmosphere was upbeat, active and warm. The interior was nicely done, it has a modern feel to it. Also, maybe it’s just me, the marketing of the restaurant was on point, because all of those pictures with the guy holding various dishes while doing the funny facial gestures made me laugh. It projected a very positive vibe and was a great way to feature their menu without taking things too seriously. I’m thinking its a great strategy on their part because they are connecting a smile, a positive emotion to the dishes, with the intent to get you to try them all? I don’t know, maybe I’m thinking too deep but I really did want try more than what I could eat. lol So, shortly after sitting, I quickly decided to stick with beef, so I ordered sirloin and brisket. It wasn’t before long before I received many side dishes, but most importantly a bucket of charcoal for the fire! I don’t know about you, but meats or just food in general tastes so much better when cooked over charcoal. To me, this is a huge plus! Our server, who was very attentive, talkative and friendly cooked out meats for us. The service he provided was top notch. Always asked if we were okay and if we needed refills on any of the side dishes. To be honest, all I cared about were refills on the rice and kimchi. lol Oh yeah, kudos on their bean soup, it hit the spot, it was tasty and spicy indeed! The beef? Truly amazing. I cherished each bite as it was seasoned to pure perfection. So, what’s the verdict on 678? 678 is one of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve ever been to, if not the best. I love it here, everything about the restaurant is excellent. I have no problem whatsoever driving from Smyrna to come here, it’s totally worth it. I can definitely see myself coming here very often.

The food is authentic and well priced. As a party of 3, we had the short ribs, the pork belly and spicy chicken which was a ton of food. The pork belly was everyone’s favorite. Pair it with the pickled radish and even the pickiest eaters will be happy. Our waiter, Jae Won, was tremendous and super helpful. We got a big bottle of Soju with ice & lime. We will be coming back for sure!

As far as the food goes, hands down the best Korean BBQ in town! If I could deduct ½ a star, I would only for the fact that its not very suitable for a party bigger than 6 people. The few times I’ve been, it has been with large groups where we were divided up into a few adjacent tables. As I’ve mentioned, the times I went was with large groups so we always order the family style platters of meat. The tables are set with unlimited condiments, salad with amazing dressing, out of this world kimchi, and the tastiest pickled turnips ever! The waiter assigned to the table brings the meat to the table and places it over the grill for you, and comes back to cut it into pieces. The grill is charcoal not cast iron. The flame ads so much flavor to the meat which is a plus, the downside is you end up smelling like open flame BBQ(go in your most casual clothes). Every cut of meat I’ve had there was good(I only ate beef and shrimp, no pork). There was nothing that I did not like. As the meat is cooking, the waiter pours eggs, corn and kimchi on the side of the grill to cook at the same time as the meat. I wished circle part that holds these items was bigger to give a bigger serving, but they refill it when it runs out which is okay. At the end of the meal, the waiter brings out a bowl of noodle soup as the perfect end to a perfect meal. It is just the right amount of spicy. The wait staff is very friendly and very helpful. The meal is very pricy(expect to pay $ 30-$ 50 per person) compared to other Korean BBQ places($ 20-$ 30 per person), but since all the cuts of meat are good, it is worth it. This place is great when you and a small group of your friends want to go out for good food on a casual night and not mind ending up smelling like charcoal. I’d like to try it with my kids one day, I noticed a playroom for kids to play while parents are eating. Like I’ve mentioned before, it is a bit pricy but it is a reflection of the quality of meat.

Suggested this place for my birthday dinner from my parents. Anything cooked over charcoal is always better in my book. The cuts of beef and pork were very fresh and tender because the waiter cooks it in front of you checking between his tables as he goes. Because of this though, they don’t have as much time replenishing the banchan(sides) as fast as they could. We were at table of four and frequently ran out of sides and had to ask for more. All in all, still a great place for the freshly grilled meats and even the experience. **may get a little smokey so expect your clothes to smell a little when you leave**

Their meat quality is pretty good although I’m always suspicious at any Korean BBQ place of the marinated meats, but there were no clear indicators here that they skimped on quality for marinated meats. We got the Prime Rib($ 27.99) and Spicy Pork Belly($ 19.99). Both were good quality and you get a good amount for the price. It’s a little high so that’s one downside. Kang Ho Dong’s name is valuable and precious. and the meat is cooked on the wood pieces(not sure what’s they’re called). They have the grill with pockets on the edges for eggs, kimchi, and bean sprouts to cook simultaneously. They also offer thin radish slices, radish cubes, miso soup, lettuce, and lettuce salad. They refill any of it, even the eggs, upon request. This circular moat thing is the coolest feature. The service was excellent. They were friendly and checked on us often. Our waiter cooked the meat for us, which is common, but he was was friendly while doing it. The inside has a modern design with enough seating for 50 or so. There’s a TV with Korean music videos playing as well. It is pricey probably b/c of Kang Ho Dong’s brand so be ready for that.

Between what I have tried and consulting others, I think I can safely conclude that 678 is the best Korean bbq you can get in atl. As far as I’ve heard, they’re the only Korean bbq that cooks over real fire(as apposed to cast iron grill) You can order individual plates of meat if you are a party of one or two, but if you go with a larger party you’re going to want to order the large family style platters of meat that come with various cuts such as thinly sliced brisket, hanger steak, prime rib, etc Your table comes preset with various pickled vegetables and kimchi, and the waiters help with the grilling. Everything is so delicious! After you’ve eaten all your meats, they finish off with a small bowl of noodle soup which somehow is the perfect finish to a fun yummy meal. For some reason I never feel ridiculously full or feel gross. It’s prob because you’re eating slowly and eating plenty if vegetables and fermented foods in between that aid with digestion. The only downside to this place is they don’t take reservations and they are not that great about accommodating large parties because of their limited space. So I def would not recommend doing a party any bigger than 6, but ideally no larger than 4. I also felt like the owners were more concerned with seating and catering to their big shot regulars than us so that got me irritated. HOWEVER, the waiters are all young and nice and helpful(especially for first timers) so I guess it makes up for the bad front desk hosting. GOEATTHEIRMEAT!

Out of all Korean BBQ… I like here the most! I’ve been to so many Korean BBQ and here is the one that really takes care of their customer!!! They are really busy but really trying to help you cook your food… every time I go to Iron Age or star depot… they just basically sit there let me cook(but they help cute girls cook).which… I should get the tips not them!!! Also they do have good options other than AYCE. The combo options are pretty awesome, pork combo, beef combo, beef and seafood combo and all mix combo. Decent quality of meat and still get u full(not overload). We had the beef combo this time which has beef brisket, ribeye, marinade ribeye, short rib… etc One thing do keep in mind… They use charcoal instead of gas, so it might get little more smoky inside the restaurant. However!!! Charcoal grill gives u a flavor that gas can’t do! Overall I like here the most, I will pick here over breakers at anytime… Especially breakers raised the price now and took out the ayce short rib from the menu…

I’ve been to my fair share of Korean BBQ joints and 678 is top notch when it comes overall presentation and quality. They offer a lot of side dishes to accompany your meat entrée. These side dishes range from different kimchis, tofu soup, salads, rice wraps, and a very tasty egg omelet that cooks right in front of you. The meat like at all Korean BBQs is cooked at your table and this place doesn’t use any gas powered grills like other restaurants, but instead uses a charcoal heated grill that cooks your meat while adding a nice smokey taste to it. In terms of seasoning you can either get it with or without(included full menu link below). I recommend trying out the seasoned meats. They are full of flavor and pairs well with smokiness of the grill. The staff here is very attentive. They will cook the meat for you and will let you know when its ready so you can dive into it. They also do a good job at refiling the side dishes at your table. I know I asked for the egg omelet a few times and they were more than happy to oblige the refill. Overall 678 is a very well ran and professional Korean BBQ restaurant that truly understands what their customers want. My Recommendations: –Seasoned Galbi Website/Menu:

Last time I came, we were super duper happyyyy because our server was EXCELLENTTTT. His name is Jayko(i think… I don’t know how to spell his name). He was so awesome, very attentive, fast and he’s such a nice person. He refilled our sides very quick and cooked our meat perfectly. The food was as excellent as any other time I was here. Our most favorite meat are marinated beef short ribs and pork short ribs. I cannot wait to come back :)

678 is one of the better end korean bbq restaurants in Duluth. With one of Korea’s biggest celebrity owning/marketing this line of restaurant, 678’s quality of meat is top notch most of the time. I usually get galbi as a la carte or their combo menus consisting various cuts of meat in one platter with noodle soup being included after the meal. Their galbi is well marinated and thickness of the meat is decent compared to seo ra beol down the road. Although their food is great, their service is hit or miss based on which servers you get assigned to. While some servers are very pleasant, there are some that are basically useless.
