Spicy Tofu soup and Bilgogi are both great. You know it is a good choice because there is always a crowd but it moves fast. My family and I go often!

We moved to Atlanta from right outside Annandale, VA about 2 years ago. As Annandale supposedly has the highest per capita Korean population next to Seoul, we were spoiled with an abundance of quality Korean food. We’ve tried other Korean restaurants along Buford and in Duluth, but have been rather unimpressed(678 was quite good, but was not 5 stars). Then we went to Jang Su Jang. Flavor and selection were top shelf. The service was prompt and courteous. And the price was quite reasonable. While we live a ways from this place, we’ll definitely be back.

We came here because a friend recommended us. I think we got the restaurant around 8pm on a Saturday. It was packed. about 3 – 4 parties were waiting to be seated. It took us about 30 minutes to get a seat. I thought it would take longer, but man do they hustle! The waitress spoke to us in Korean and I got flustered.(I look Korean, but I’m not!) She was so cute and excused herself. We got hot tea and ordered bulgogi, spicy pork wrap, and seafood tofu soup. Those are the standard Korean dishes I like to order to get an idea how each one compares. Yum yum yum! They gave us a large spread of side dishes and the food came out SUPER fast. Everything was spot on. Not too overpowering and perfectly balanced! It was a little more on the expensive side, compared to what I’ve had in San Francisco BUT I won’t complain because I’m currently living in Birmingham and there is ZERO decent Korean food… I will drive 2 hours to come here! Thank you so much for your hospitality and keep up the good work! PS. The tables have a call button to flag a server/waiter just like airplanes! Excellent idea. No wonder their turn over is so fast!

This is by far one of the best authentic Korean cuisines I have ever tasted in Georgia. I came here twice and this restaurant will probably be my regular Korean food place. On the first trip, I came at night for dinner, the restaurant was packed. The service was great, waitresses were attentive and friendly. I ordered Soodunbu chigae — Spicy Tofu Soup(Normal Spicy) and beef hot plate. The side dishes were served generously, you can ask for refill free of charge like other Korean restaurants. The Jap Chae side dish was so tasty. The soup was not spicy enough for me since I asked for normal spice, I guess it was catered for American standards. As for the bulgogi beef hot plate, it was very tasty and juicy. The serving for one person is more than enough. On the second trip, I came here for brunch, I ordered the same Spicy tofu soup but this time I asked for Spicy, which I should’ve taken Very Spicy instead. The tofu soup was given generous amount of tofu and pork. I would prefer having more soup and less tofu and meat for a person’s portion. This dish is great to have especially in cold winter. The bulgogi beef hot plate tastes juicy like previous order but tastier, probably because less customers during brunch hours. I highly recommend the seafood pancake, it is crispy and full of scallions, squids, a little burned because it is served in hot plate but it is really tasty. It is a MUSTTRY dish. For price range, definitely worth it.

I went there with my boyfriend and his friend(who is from Dallas). My boyfriend’s friend has never had Korean food, so while he was visiting, I thought it’d be a good idea to take him to one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Georgia. I ordered the seafood pancakes, pork bul-go-gi, gal-bi stew(the non-spicy one), and the tofu with kimchi. Both my boyfriend and his friend LOVED it. They devoured the food. The place is clean, the waitresses are super friendly and nice. It’s a good place to take non-Korean or Korean friends to go eat some every day, authentic, Korean food. I definitely recommend it!

I am no stranger to Jang Su Jang. In fact, this was one of the first Korean restaurants I have been to. Fighting a sinus infection, my mom, my aunt and I came here one Saturday night immediately after coming off a flight. All I wanted was some hot soup. We arrived at 9:50 to be told that their kitchen closed at 10pm. I told them we could order immediately. They were a bit reluctant but we eventually won them over. I ordered a beef soondubu and my mom and aunt shared a dukkbokki. Their soondubu options are plentiful — beef, pork, seafood, you name it. It comes with a raw egg, to poach in your tofu soup as well as your choice of purple or white rice.(Purple is the way to go… The red beans make it all the better!!) Let’s not forget the 6 or so banchans that came to the table — typical kimchi(cabbage, radish, and cucumbers), apple salad, broccoli, bean sprouts, etc. My soondubu(tofu soup) was excellent, per usual. My mom and aunt, however, were not a fan of the dukkbokki. The rice cakes were very big and extremely hard. They were probably in a hurry to close their kitchen and rushed through the orders. I would not recommend coming here past 9. Our service was fine, but again, you could tell they were in a rush to get us out. I’m just thankful that they fed me.

Came with 2 other people and waited about 10 min for a table. Service was friendly and attentive. A tad it expensive(compared to most tofu houses on pleasant hill) but much bigger. Got the beef rib stew with fried cabbage and it was just what I needed on a groggy cold Saturday morning. If you ever want something to warm your soul, definitely get this. Was 13 $ There tofu soups are a must try as well. 10 $

I got the beef tofu soup(medium spicy) and it was so. good. And only for $ 10! Served with a good amount of white rice — I definitely will be coming back here! Waitresses are nice-ish, but didn’t really stop by after dropping off the food, so we had to wait awhile if we wanted more water or something — regardless, it was so yummy!

I love coming here for their«Lunch Boxes», which are pretty much Korean Style Bento Boxes. Very yummy, and a good deal because you get A LOT of food. Both times I’ve eaten here, I ordered the Galbi(marinated beef short ribs) Lunch Box($ 12.99). The Galbi is so flavorful and tender. It also comes with rice, korean salad, a couple pieces of kimbap, an orange slice, and a few other sides. The sides I got with it the second time I came here were different than what I got the first time, but still good! In addition to the food included in the lunch box, they bring you complimentary soup before your meal, SOMUCH banchan, and some of those little yogurt drinks after your meal. They also serve complimentary hot tea with your meal, but you can opt for iced water instead.

«Let’s skip out on the wiki facts and focus on the food. I’m trying to find out what to order on the Unilocal app before the server gets back.» [Time & Date of visit]: Weekday evenings [Party Size]: 2 – 3 [Location/Ambiance]: Getting to the location seems easier from the Steve Reynolds exit if if you are driving up I85 north. It’s just going to be a pain making a u-turn on Satellite blvd. Parking availability is pretty good, though I’m not sure how it might be on weekends. Weekdays, you should be good getting a space near the entrance. Décor and ambiance reminds me of the old school, traditional Korean establishments. [Service]: Even without a token Korean friend to accompany me on a couple of visits here and there, I would have to say service is fairly consistent. Of course the server that would speak better english would be accommodating you. I think overall service has been pleasant and food has been served in a timely manner. [Food Highlights]: Banchan — Just about everything tasted fresh. I liked the soy glazed potatoes and even though the seaweed salad is served differently than I guess Japanese style shredded, the thicker slices at Jang Su Jang is good in it’s own way. Kalbi — Hint of sweetness that follows the first bite, but oh man, the meat is tender. One of the better Korean restaurants that serve it. Dolsot Bibimbap — My go to dish when I’m dining in a Korean restaurant. I wish they had a seafood option but the beef one is plentiful. They aren’t stingy on the veggies. I just wish the stone pot was a little more hot as my rice never got crispy on the bottom. Bo ssäm —(slow cooked pork shoulder) — I was a bit hesitant to try this, just because I’m not the biggest fan of pork belly if it’s not crispy. But the pork shoulder slices are oh so tender. I think wrapping it in the pink daikon radish tasted the best out of all the included veggies. {Summary}: Not a place that I visit often, but never a disappointment when I do. Overall, I feel they deserve 4 stars.

A great place to take your family or those who have never tried Korean food before. It’s an old favorite of mine. I always get the Ssam Bap here for two. My friends make special trips out here for the Kalbi Jjim. The seafood pancake is delicioussss. Fair warning that this place is pricier than other places. However, it’s hard to find a traditional Korean restaurant with such an extensive menu that is actually really good!

This is one of my favorite tofu houses. The service is good even when they’re busy(which is honestly rare for Korean places unless you’re Korean). Food is great, plenty of tasty refillable side dishes, and a bonus is the yogurt drink they serve you at the end of your meal. It is pricier than most tofu houses in Duluth though, but in my opinion it’s worth it. Would definitely recommend this place.

Came here with a group of friends. We wanted to eat traditional Korean cuisine(i.e., not Kbbq) and one of our korean friends recommended this place to try out. We ordered the seafood pancake, boiled mackerel in kimchi, and beef ribs stew. The beef ribs stew was by far the best dish we ordered that night, so tender, so flavorful, so good! The seafood pancake tasted pretty standard. I liked the boiled mackerel the least as I am not a fan of mackerel, but my friends love this fish and so, they loved this dish. Service was great too with that call button that is available at every table.

Seafood tofu stew(hae mool soon du bu) Korean beef(kalbi) First off, the one thing I will always admire about Korean cuisine is how they keep up with numerous appetizer/side plates and do it for free. This restaurant is no exception and they do it very well. Every side dish was well made. Seafood tofu stew is great for colder weather to warm you up, and this one was awesome because they loaded it with seafood. Most places skimp on the seafood because its expensive to put a lot in, but this place did not. Korean BBQ is easily the most well known side of Korean cuisine besides kimchi. It’s good pretty much anywhere you go so it was obviously great here. Great clean atmosphere and quick service! One thing they really need to integrate into American restaurants is the call button that they put at every table so service is much more efficient and well done. It just makes too much sense to not put everywhere.

Blown away! So good! How do I love thee, let me count the ways. Arrived on a Friday night as a party of three. The parking lot was pretty full, but was able to find a spot. The wait wasn’t too bad, about twenty minutes. From the minute we were seated, the service kicked in at full speed and did not stop. Someone came to take our drink orders instantly. The food came fast and so did our drink refills, side dishes refills and visits from the server to take plates away. Amazing! The service is so refreshingly different from all the other Korean restaurants I’ve tried. I love tofu soup and knew I wanted that right away. It was awesome to find that they had a house combo that included your choice of any tofu soup from their menu, at the level of spiciness you desire and a full order of galbi. This was perfect for the bf and me. Best of both worlds. I chose the pork soon tofu and this soup was loaded with tofu and the flavor was amazing. The temperature was hot, just like I wanted it. The egg they give you to crack into the soup actually cooked in it. I also loved how I was given rice in a stone bowl to go with it. The galbi was also amazing. So much meat. You’re not just biting on bones here. We also ordered a seafood pancake to share and that bad boy was jam packed with seafood and deliciously crispy. Go here and you will not regret it! This place has really set the bar high for Korean food. I wish I live closer.

Didn’t expect to get such delicious Korean food while we visit Georgia. Everything we ordered was delicious. The seafood pancake was thick and made with tons of scallions. Very crispy on the outside. I had the kimchi soondubu(soft tofu soup) and that was delicious. All the side dished were yummy and fresh as well. And they were not cheap on refilling them for us Service was very fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be back again if I was in Georgia again

I have been here couple of times, I guess I will just list all the pros and cons in my opinion. Pro: The kitchen is very fast, if you happened to wait for a little bit… make sure it’s not server’s problem. I guess it’s so fast that the tofu soup is still boiling while they serve them. They do have options other than tofu soup. Such as cold/hot noodles, bibimbop, or grilled seafood or some entry. They do have stuff like shabu shabu or some other big combo for friends or family to share which they are all pretty good. They are not cheap about giving customer the free little side which I know some places are cheap on it. Their short rib is better than other Korean places. However, their prices are higher than others… by a lot… Each dish is about at least 2~3 dollars more than other places and it adds up… They don’t do refill for sodas and their parking is hard to find during the weekend. Recommend to make a reservation for weekends. I know Saturday lunch is always an issue. For recommendation… The short rib is better than other place… They don’t over cook the meat. Bibimbop are pretty good I think~ Shabu Shabu is a pretty good option for small group of ppl in winter. Do make reservations for weekend… At least I know Saturday is always busy.

I heard the galbi jjim was good so I gave it a go. We got 3 serving sizes of galbi jjim, one yookgehjang, dolsot bibimbap, and some other stuff I didn’t try. Yookgehjang wasn’t very flavorful. Kinda spicy but not really tasty. Dolsot was pretty standard. Most of the meat in the galbi jjim was super fatty. Way overpriced for the small amount of actual meat we got. Pretty disappointing. Inside is kind of run down and not very clean– had to change out my utensils twice because of food crusted on it. Service was ok.

I really do think Jang Su Jang is one of the best Korean restaurants in Atlanta. This place does not specialize in korean bbq, but it rather serves all around Korean menus from soup to other meat dishes. JSJ’s food looks clean and tastes clean. It is simple and nothing extravagant, yet delicious. I went to JSJ last night and split an order of King’s Beef Rib dish with my wife. The meal came with 2 stone hot pot rice and dwenjang(korean fermented bean) soup. Rib was very tender and well marinated. It is cooked with radish, kabocha, carrot, and rice cake. On top of good food, they also offer good services to their customers compared to couple korean restaurants around the area.
