Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

Be very careful of getting involved with this company. It does not appear to be the same company as you might have heard about or done business with in the past.
We purchased two high end furnaces first from Comerfords (now Service Experts) and Service Experts. We have purchased service contracts with this company for over 10 years. In September 2015 we received a letter stating we had not paid for service delivered in August. According to Donna, a really wonderful person in the service department, our service contract was in force through September 2015. Donna referred us to billing to get this straightened out. Three messages to the woman (or voice sounding like a person) in the billing department: NO RESPONSE. When I saw the amount had been charged on our Visa at the end of October (because they have the number from past purchases), I calledcagain and then wrote the manager. Unbelievably – still no response. Obviously, this is a company with a serious lack of customer service, interest in retaining long time customers and it seems, questionable business practice. Will we purchase a new HVAC system later this year from this company? Not a chance.

Big fan of Service Experts HVAC. We’ve used them twice for on call repairs for our gas furnace. Always pleasant on the phone, quick to arrive, and the notes/​videos/​photos they show me always give me confidence in what they’ve done.
I’ve always felt the price was fair, especially for on call services and after hours/​weekends.

My furnace broke on a Winter Saturday night, so I was very happy that SE could come out before end of the day on Sunday. The service tech called ahead and gave me a good sense of when he’d be here. And he was. He identified the problem and fixed it. Very professional, good guy and I’m a happy customer for all of that. So why then only 3 stars? The part they replaced was the control board (electronic circuit board.) From what I’ve read on other sites, that’s usually what it is with furnaces these days. The part cost me $ 595, when it’s all over the Internet for $ 130 or so. Service was $ 100. I get that they should get a cut by adding a markup, I’m fine with that. But over 200% is a bit much, Imagine how many of these they do. I think $ 150 for the part would be plenty fair. I’d be happier if I knew the tech was making decent pay. The way I see it, the company is making waaaaay too much in simple parts markup.

We had Steve come out today for a tune-​up of our heating system. The customer services folks (Shannon and Donna) kept us informed that Steve will be late, so even though we weren’t all that happy about that, they did what they could to keep us informed, which we appreciate.
Steve was a responsible and knowledgeable guy. He reminded us to clean the filters every 3 – 6 months depending on use, and explained WHY this is important. He made sure everything checked out and we were good to go. On top of all that he is very professional and friendly, and you know this is a guy you can trust.
A great business with great employees. Great experience (oh, we also had them install our system a few years back).

Came on time, but I thought the guy to be a bit rude initially. After he reviewed the repair and quotes me the cost I decided to shop around a bit.

Joe just left my home after replacing a blown capacitor on the A/​C unit. Another company came out last week and tried to sell me a completely new unit and coil for nearly $ 10,000. Repair today was under $ 300. Thank you Service Experts! Thank you Joe!

These are the guys you want! We purchased an older home in May 2015 and had Yosseuf come out for an estimate. He was knowledgeable and tried to find ways to save us money. We scheduled an install for the next week. Jason and his crew came in and after opening up the ducts, quickly realized the project would be much bigger. They had to disconnect our furnace for safety since it was venting into the upstairs bathroom! Yikes! They also found a small amount of hidden asbestos and inadequate return air. They needed 4 days to install the new HVAC, install adequate return, and establish safe venting as well as have the asbestos removed. They couldn’t come out for a month. Disappointed as I was, these guys know their stuff. When they came back, they worked tirelessly and efficiently. They were kind and courteous and even had a little fun. My little boys were calling down to them from the ducts upstairs and they were playing along. My son: «Is anybody there?» Jason: «Nope, no one’s here!» Moreover, Yosseuf came out to make sure we were still happy. Emphatically, yes! These guys know what they’re doing.

Came on time to make a free estimate. Qualified and friendly technician. The estimate was ~5 times overpriced. Won’t go with them.

I was going to apologize for my bad review because I got service champions in service experts mixed up but come to find out there the same company or rabbi the same person so I still give them one star for taking advantage of my grandmother who is 87 years old and told her she needed new ducts when she did not and charged her over $ 4000

This company is an excellent choice if you want a professional and reliable group of people working at your house. They just installed a new heating and air conditioning system (including duct work) in our house and they were definately the best from start to finish. EJ Hansen and Ravi Mishra do an outstanding job of explaining everything and making it all happen. They go above and beyond in the area of customer service. Chris, Dan, Steve and Val did excellent work installing everything. Each person we came in contact with associated with this company was professional and courteous and did outstanding work. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I used this company to fix my bummer heater today and really appreciated the professionalism of the technician (Patrick) and his calm, friendly, trustworthy vibe. He also showed me exactly what he did to un-​corrode the burners and clean out the sooty vent. I felt completely confident in him and reassured about our safety… And for that, as a single mom, I am very grateful.

I was very pleased with Service Experts. They were on time and very professional. They did the zoning quickly and efficiently and now my home is expertly heated all the way to the third floor. Dennis very kindly offered to install my 3 carbon monoxide alarms. I would highly recommend this company for heating and air conditioning.

We had problems with our AC and our technician Mr. Alviar provided excellent service. Arrived on time, explained what needed to be done and did a great job. Fixed a problem that no other tech had a solution for. Thanks!

Excellent work by Jason– very professional and he was able to change the transmitter, and my A/​c and heater now works. Little pricey but worth it!
I think we tripped the transmitter when changing he thermostat. Great job Jason! He’s nice too and friendly!

I’ve been using Service Experts since I moved to CA some 16+ years ago. Excellent service and with an annual service agreement, they have even fit me in for emergency service on the same day I’ve called. Friendly and professional… and competitively priced. If you need AC or heating assistance, I highly recommend them!

They gave great service and enjoyed Alan and Miquel as they were at my home for a full day. They left a clean work area and installation went well. Terry gave a good bid and am looking forward to enjoying my new Condensor and filters.

Called today to reschedule my service for this Friday. This appointment was made 4 weeks ago when there was a last minute cancelation of a scheduled appointment by the company. I just called to reschedule my appointment and much to my dismay the earliest available appointment is December 28^th! I strongly recommend not signing up for a service contract with this company because you’ll have trouble getting the service done.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have dealt with in a long time.
I called these guys around June for a service tune up. It ended up around $ 600 and the company could not even provide me with an itemized invoice. They only did a freon recharge too. They said the cost would only be about $ 150. False
Beware — make sure you can agree on the price before service.
Edit — They claim they serve over 12,000 homes per day? This claim seems ridiculous.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Service Experts. The one star rating goes to the technician; the customer service reps were great. Service Experts did a check up/​diagnostic last November so I called this evening after I noticed strong electrical smells coming from the furnace hoping to utilize the ²⁴⁄₇ service. I spoke to Kyra first who said someone would be out tonight and would call me 15 minutes before they arrived.
I received a call shortly from the technician whose name escapes me and he said «I’m really far away so I don’t want to come tonight.» I explained the situation and that Kyra indicated there was ²⁴⁄₇ service and asked again that he come inspect the furnace tonight. He told me he didn’t want to drive to my house and that he could come in the morning. I again explained the smell was worrisome and that I work early so an appointment in the morning was not feasible. He continued to argue with me so I told him I would call the customer service team back to clarify their ²⁴⁄₇ policy.
I called back and spoke to John who put me on hold and called the technician. John was unable to reach him but left a voicemail asking the technician to call me back. He told me to call again if I didn’t hear anything soon. An hour later I called back and got another customer service representative who was apologetic and confused as to why the technician acted the way he did. Rather than continuing to go tit-​for-​tat with the technician, I capitulated and booked an appointment for tomorrow, crossing my fingers that nothing goes gravely wrong with my furnace overnight.
Overall, I’m appalled at how I was treated by the technician. He was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive.

They are way too expensive. Payed $ 290 for a 10 minute heater repair.
