Lint Bandits Dryer Vent Cleaning

Workmen were slightly delayed for our appointment, but called to let us know, and called again when they were en route with a revised time. Both Mary & Fred were very professional and cleaned out our dryer venting at the dryer end and also along the entire run of the vent pipe (30′). They also revised the vent tubing between the dryer and the wall to improve the airflow. They completed the job in less than an hour and also recommended that we cycle the dryer several times (without clothes) to help dry out the inside of the vent tubing – something I probably would not have thought about.

Doug and his crew came and cleaned out my dryer vents. My dryer is again working and drying my clean clothes fast HE. Fred and his co workers where very nice and did their job. I would recommend these guys to anyone. In fact I did recommend them to my neighbor who was having the same problem.

My dryer was taking too long to dry clothes. I thought I needed a new one, but after my appliance repairman, Scott, with Superior Appliance checked it out, he said I had a venting problem. It was still heating, but stayed moist. He cleaned out a lot of lint, but said he didn’t feel air from the vent outside. He said to observe the dryer and see if the time improves considerably. It did, but since we haven’t had the dryer vent cleaned since we bought this old house in 1997, we thought it was high time anyway.
I called Doug and made an appointment. I was nervous about the rain today, but there was a break in the weather when his crew, Fred and Mary, arrived, so it worked out. I initially hesitated calling because I assumed they only serviced the Tri Valley area, but they came to Castro Valley.
Mary and Fred were kind, funny, and quirky. They did a thorough job.
I always research jobs to be done at home, and I thought perhaps I could tackle this one myself. But after considering that I need to buy a vent cleaning kit, a bigger and stronger shop vac, and have the skill to clean a vent (I mean you can watch all the YouTube videos all day long and still won’t get it), I thought, forget it. Hire a professional.
I’m glad we did. If I didn’t know what it was, the lint Fred removed from the outside vent looked like a wet, dead cat; it was that much. Mary worked inside and vacuumed up from the inside vent.
Many thanks to Doug and his crew. We will call again for dryer vent cleaning next time and for a gutter cleaning in the future.

I can’t say enough good things about Lint Bandits! I have a stackable washer and dryer that is wedged into a closet. These guys came in and were able to move the unit out, clean the vent and even replaced the hose that had not been installed properly the first time. I made an appointment of Wednesday afternoon and was able to have someone out on Friday. I was given a 30 minute window. Love that! So tired of waiting half a day for contractors. Gary and Fred showed up on time and got straight to work. I have a long dryer duct. They did a great job and explained everything to me. I would highly recommend Lint Bandits.

Yep, that 15JAN16 photo shows the shopvac full of my lint. You go Lint Bandits! VERY happy with dryer function after the Bandits — Fred & Gary, fine chaps — did their thing. Fred/​Gary — efficient, friendly, bringers of great joy. Fred also provided useful tips re. knowing when the lint flowpath would need cleaning again. I’m happy. Next time I have the bandits visit BEFORE I get the new dryer, bought because I was ignorant. Doh!

Excellent service! Called and left a message yesterday evening that my dryer was giving me an error message that something was blocked. A few hours later, on a SUNDAY night, the owner called back. Said it was probably a build up of lint in my venting system. Came out the next day & fixed it in 30 minutes. Professional, friendly, fast. Love them and will use again!

Nice job cleaning out our very long dryer vent that goes ²⁄₃ the width of the house. As it had been a while (9 years), they needed to use both the shop vac from one direction and a rooter tool from the other to get all the lint out… and this was after I had already used a leaf blower to attempt to clear it. The only reason they didn’t get a 5-​star rating is that it would have been nice had they scooped up and disposed of the rooted out lint that ended up on the ground outside the vent. No big deal, but would have been worth another star.

Doug’s staff came earlier than scheduled, and both went right to work. It was a two-​men job since my dryer vent goes out and up to the roof. It took about 30 minutes for them to clean and brush the vents. The reason I called for the cleaning was due to the clunking sound from the dryer. After the cleaning, no more clunking sound. I was more nervous for the guy who has to climb up the roof… I didn’t expect that one. Overall, great job.

I soooooooooo, want give these guys a 5 Star rating because they are awesome.
On time, respectful, professional, efficient, successfully completed the job — you name it, they did it… except for a complete clean up, inside and out. The lint they pulled and a little debris was left in my driveway. I had to ask for them to sweep up the lint in my hallway, they obliged but didn’t finish the sweeping in the laundry-​room.
Again, aside from the cleaning, the team was fantastic. Even fixed the piping issue from my dryer to the wall. So this isn’t a complaint just a wish for the next time I call them out. They will get my business again.

Doug said he can come the very next day that I called. I needed to have our dryer vent cleaning because our dryer won’t dry the laundry all the way. He gave me a call and let me know when he can actually be here. He did a great job! I will ask him to come again if we have the same issue. Thanks you.

We purchased a new washer and dryer, and the installer could not install the dryer because the vent was so badly clogged up. We had already swept up an entire Hefty garbage bag full of lint that was piled around the old appliances left behind by the previous resident, and attempted to ShopVac what was in the vent ourselves, but it just jammed our ShopVac hose, so we decided to get it professionally cleaned since the vent runs underneath the living room of our house and to the outside.
Doug was very prompt at responding to phone messages and was able to send his folks out within a couple of days. We were quoted $ 170 which seemed a little pricey compared to other competitors advertised pricing, however DGC Services/​Lint Bandits were the only company who actually answered the phone or responded to phone messages, so we decided to go with them.
The two men who showed up to clean our dryer vent arrived a few minutes early to the appointment and got started right away. They cleaned up the vent in less than 15 minutes. They also plugged in our new dryer to test air flow. Seems to be working just fine now!
We were really worried about the fire hazard of all that lint buildup, so I’m glad we called DGC and got them out here right away. Thanks all for your help!

Disclaimer– I didn’t actually use their services, but they still get 5 stars and if I do need services, I would call them. Here’s why:
After doing a search on Unilocal for dryer vent cleaning (had no idea who to call), I contacted them to schedule a cleaning (it was taking 80 minutes to dry clothes). Doug answered the phone, very friendly, explained clearly the process of what they would do, and I was able to book an appointment for the same day! He even gave me a Unilocal discount!
When I asked if I needed my landlord’s permission (we just recently moved in), he said this was something usually done by landlords, not the tenants. He suggested I ask my landlord to cover the cost.
So I booked the appointment and called to ask the property manager if they would cover the cost. They ended up telling me they would use their own worker to clean the vent. I called Doug back to cancel the appointment. He was very understanding and even gave me some helpful tips to make sure the worker cleaned my vents properly!
I wish I could have used Doug’s company since he would’ve been able to send his team out the same day, but he saved me some money, since the owner is now doing it. I just have to wait a week or two until their worker is available…
Anyway, friendly guy, honest (didn’t have to save me money or give me advice), and didn’t give me any attitude when I called back to cancel. If I do need dryer vent cleaning services in the future, I know who to call.

We contacted these folks after our dryer wasn’t drying fast enough. They came out the next day, Saturday, checked everything out in a very professional manner and we are very satisfied.
They were recommended by our maintenance man and glad we had this done since it’s not a simple process without the right equipment.
