Dublin Beauty College

im a student here and i can tell you from first hand experience this place is beyond awful not only to the costumers but the students as well if i could afford to transfer anywhere else i would but i cant and no one will do anything about it. i highly advise to stay far away from this ghetto drama filled school.

This place deserves half a star. Not even a full star. I came in to check out the school, almost got my manicure done, but the instructors were so rude. One of them asked for my name, and I told them and gave me «That’s an unusual name.» Not even a smile. No one even greeted me, not the students, not even the instructors. The location and place in general is ghetto. The instructors were just chilling doing nothing the whole time and the students were also doing nothing but talking and laying back in their seats. They need to shut this place down. Everyone was right about it. I was really hoping I would have a different opinion on this school. RATCHET. I’m staying in Designs School of Cosmetology.

I am giving this place two stars just because I know the girl who did my nails and she was fabulous.
The actual college though is so ghetto it’s scary. I walked in with a friend to get our nails done and the girls up front were so catty and unwelcoming. We had an appointment with a girl I knew, but I had no idea this school was as dirty and gross as it was. Everything just seemed disgusting. I wouldn’t have stayed for my appointment, but I knew the girl so I couldn’t bail on her. They make you pay before which I think is kind of ridiculous. I heard at other beauty schools they don’t make you do this. The whole place smelled like marijuana as well which was gross. I would never come back here to get anything done. What a sad excuse for a beauty school.

I have always enjoyed getting services done by my friends while in beauty school, it gives me a chance to hang out with them while receiving services, and making there quota they have to meet before they graduate.
I decided to take my sister and her 2 friends to get there hair done at Dublin Beauty School so that there hair could be done by my friend. So I brought the school 3 clients, while the girls were waiting for there services to be done I sat in the back row with all of them so I could take pictures of them as they got ready. (Which most parents/​guardians do when there kid is getting ready). However, the instructor did not like me back there with the students.
He said «You have to go to the front lady.»
I was confused by this and said «Oh no I’m here for them, while they get ready I want to sit back here and watch»
Instructor: «No, that’s not protocol and will get too confusing»
Me: «I don’t get what is confusing that I want to watch how there services are being done and take pictures of them?»
Instructor: «You must go to the front, this is not acceptable»
So with that being said, I am giving this place 2 stars because I don’t believe they actually know how to treat there customers who are coming in for services. If you want to stay in business you have to treat the customers with respect. I felt completely disrespected, and the girls were really upset because he felt the instructor came back and yelled to much at the students while they were getting there services done. I have had plenty of services done by students and I would NEVER go back to this place again… I suggest going to the one in Pleasanton which is probably no more then 3 miles away.
My friend did an excellent job on there hair and make up! They looked fabulous which was all that matter in the end. I just didn’t feel satisfied with how they treated us. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE… I can see why so many of the students hate it here…
Next time I will just have my friend come to my house and do the services, so at least the money I will be spending on the services will go into my friends pocket and not this horrible 0 star business.

For a school you think the first and easiest thing to teach is customer service. When I walked in the girl at the front desk had her feet up on a chair and looked up from her chair like I was interrupting her. Then told the girl your client is here. To which she responded why?
From there is was quiet the learning experience for the student but that’s what you expect at a beauty college.

I have been to several beauty colleges for the past 12 years. Overall I have had good experiences and would recommend it, however this college may be an exception. Here is a list of things I noticed from beginning to end.
— I wasn’t greeted when I first arrived.
— I was charged before the service was even started. There is a sign that states «no refunds» and «not responsible for lost possessions.» Scary.
–The area where they perform the guest services is small and dirty. The students are constantly bumping into one another. My student tells another that she doesn’t want to be working and then drops the hair clip on the floor and then picks it up and clips it into my hair.
–My students sighs the entire time and has no clue what she is doing. Thank god another student takes over and actually does a good job.
— They asked if I liked my hair cut but don’t offer a mirror.
I guess beggers can’t be choosers. The cut was only $ 7. But I had $ 7 haircuts at other beauty colleges and the service was 100 times better.

omg so i went to get my hair dyed dark auburn just cuz i didn’t wanna get my sink dirty, omg was that a mistake
the girl was a senior had no idea wat she was doing, got color all over my face, neck, arms, shirt omg.
she didnt even know how to mix the color it came out ugly bright red.
the fucking teacher told her to brush my hair while the color was in, are you fucking kidding me you never do that it breaks the hair she didnt even know how to brush hair i had to tell her to start from the bottom up. she was so sloppy, i walked out before she even blow dried it, dont go there im trying to help you. dont attend school there, they have barely any skills if they cant even do color, i know its cheap save your money and go somewhere else

Today my mom and I went and got shampoo sets! Soooo fun!!! I attended beauty college back in 99 so I knew what to expect and man these girls were a lot better than I was!
I had Anna and she was sooo sweet! Great temperament, gentle, efficient AND she was using professional beauty products on me! I had a manicure also and it was very nice. My set looks great and I can tell Anna is going to be one awesome Beauty Operator!!! Hurry in for your appointment. she’s only got 600 more hours left!
My mom had Sara and she was equally really sweet and very gentle on my mom. My mom has a sensitive neck and Sara was very in tune with her needs and her set came out great! Very soft, wavy and sexy! We felt so cute and pampered when we left! I don’t remember so many beauty school girls being soo nice but they were all so happy and cheerful and sweet… smiles all around! Very refreshing!!!
The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 was because we had to wait a while for our appointments when they were already pre booked. And, there was a price discrepancy in the beginning after I had just payed. The male instructor was absolutely ridiculous and belittled the young girl who had made a mistake right in front of me. Shame on you Mr!!!
All of the other instructors were friendly, and I even ran into one that I had learned from back in Fremont 10 years ago!!!
All in all, we were very happy and will definitely come back!

I attended this school August 2007-​January 2008 then transferred to the Designs School of Cosmetology… which was a mistake.
Dublin may be strict, & may make you wear ugly uniforms… but it has a very good program. The only reason that I passed the State Board Test is because I got my foundation at Dublin.
I would definitely recommend this school to anyone searching for a Cosmetology School! Not only is it good but it is very inexpensive as well. Here they have the ROP program… which is not only for highschool students but adults as well.
