Located on 35 private acres high upon a hilltop in Dripping Springs, Star House Bed & Breakfast provides the perfect rural getaway from the hustle and bustle. We are perched above sloping, tree-​covered meadows, offering an incredible view that makes us the perfect place for nature enthusiasts, stargazers, birdwatchers, cyclists and romantics alike. Our unique bed & breakfast offers a fully furnished, 2-​bedroom guest house as well as a charming vintage airstream trailer. Enjoy amenities such as wifi, movies and home-​cooked daily breakfast made with farm-​fresh eggs. We can even accommodate food allergies, so don’t hesitate to ask.

From Dripping Springs restaurants, wineries and brewery tours to hiking trails, swimming holes and more, there are always plenty of nearby activities to keep you busy. Our own property allows visitors to star gaze from the back porch, take leisurely bike rides or even feed the goats. We look forward to making your stay a memorable one!

Business Owner

As Owner of Star House Bed & Breakfast, Kathy is involved in everything from greeting guests to landscaping and gardening. She loves life, people and nature, and loves getting to combine those things at Star House. Living on the land for the last 30 years has enabled her to appreciate the Hill Country landscape and the views that go on for miles. Her husband, Wayne Rossi, is a metal artist and owner of D.S. Iron Works, and his sculptures can be found around Star House.

This was the first bed and breakfast I ever stayed at. It is a very cute and cozy little guest house — very relaxing atmosphere. It’s great for 2 couples. There’s a kitchen, 2 bedrooms (with REALLY comfy beds and sheets), a living room (with board games and movies), and a bathroom. Some reviews I read said that the fridge was stocked; there were just some water bottles. There is popcorn in the kitchen though. There are plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, etc. We even decided to stay in one night and cook us some food! There is one ceiling fan in the living room. There is a floor fan in the loft bedroom since it can get hot up there. There is also a nice front porch and back porch with hummingbird feeders. Be careful of the stairs though; we had a couple close-​calls because they’re pretty steep. I suggest going up and down the stairs like a ladder. There is a nice view from the main house; the innkeeper said we could go sit in their backyard to enjoy the view. There is so much land there to explore. There are even goats. You can request goat food to feed them!
The innkeeper is very accommodating. She made breakfast for us earlier than her usual time because we wanted to get to Hamilton Pool on time since we heard it gets really crowded. The breakfast was delicious. Too bad Hamilton Pool ended up being too crowded and they turned us away even though we got there right before it opened! Anyways, she was able to tell us some places to go to.
Overall, nice place to stay. We stayed for a 3-​day weekend. We visited some places nearby, but we also spent time just relaxing here. :) Check out some of my pictures I uploaded.

We stayed here for our valentine’s getaway and loved it! Kathy was so sweet and helpful for anythjng we needed.
We stayed in one of the vintage airstreams, it was definitely more spacious and comfortable than we were expecting.
After our wine tour kathy came and gave us lur tour and brought breakfast for the morning.
Cant wait to stay again :)

Truly a gem in the Hill Country!!! Kathy and Wayne are incredible! The house was picturesque down to the last detail. The house was stocked with everything you could think of and the things you forgot to pack. The bed was very comfortable and the comforter set was so soft. You will definitely get a great night of sleep. The landscaping of the property is breathtaking along with Wayne’s metal works. You feel relaxed and all the worries melt away as soon as you drive up to the B&B. The hummingbirds were a great addition to the peaceful scenery. She put together a wonderful selection of things to do and places to go, very helpful. The breakfast was amazing and so was the presentation. As I read through the guest book you can see how many hearts Kathy and Wayne touched over the years. The only downside to the stay was that it was too short. Can’t wait to go back!!!

What a great place to stay in the TX Hill Country. The house is perfectly decorated. Everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom is labeled, so you don’t have to search around to find what you need. There’s WiFi, a TV with a nice size DVD collection. But, I think the best thing is just sitting out on the porch enjoying the peace & quiet. Her cute little dog, Dobie, and the goats are quite entertaining also.
The guest manual is very helpful, with all kinds of brochures & suggestions. Kathy was so gracious. Her home-​cooked breakfast was outstanding. I love how she adds personal touches to everything.
I only stayed one night, but I will definitely be back, if I’m in the area.
