Cottonwood Creek RV Park

Larry and Lee are caring, concerned, compassionate and dedicated park managers, they make guests feel safe, welcome and mist of all respected! I interviewed all of the RVParks and Resorts in the area and stayed at Cottonwood Creek, despite the less than convenient location, ONLY because Larry and Lee are such professionals — I was confident their promises for a safe, clean, hassle free stay would be delivered.

I recently moved from California to the Austin area, wanting to purchase a travel trailer and stay in an RV park. I contacted Cottonwood several weeks before moving and had several email communications with Larry, the manager. Larry very patiently held my spot for me, until I could get out to Texas and find the perfect RV. The park is very lush, green, clean, quite and friendly! Highly recommend these folks!

We made a reservation for a long-​term spot about a month in advance, then had to call and change the dates and there was absolutely no problem with our reservation. Both times Larry was very friendly and answered all my questions. He led us to our site when we finally arrived and helped us back in. When we were setting up he told us to make ourselves at home. Much better place for a long-​term stay than a weekend – facilities are really set up for full-​timers. Lovely walking trails for our dog, but no fenced-​off dog run. Clean laundry room with efficient machines. No rec room, pool, etc. – much better place to enjoy nature and relax. Neat and tidy sites spaced well apart, nice landscaping. Lots of wildlife: birds, deer, rabbits, we even saw an armadillo. Owners and managers very approachable and have lots of knowledge about the area. Very dog-​friendly RV park. Great neighbors! We’ve had a great time here so far, zero problems. Managers always helpful and more than happy to accommodate our extra vehicle. No complaints, very happy!

First let me start off by saying, this was the very first place we stayed in with our newly renovated camper from the 80s that we put a lot of hard work and money into to make it absolutely perfect for our upcoming trip. I made reservations at this place 2 weeks in advance, which is a little short notice, I know. But Larry was super nice and told us that since it was last minute, we wouldn’t need a deposit. He also told us that they had bathroom facilities on site if we needed them. So, fast forward to a few weeks later when we are on our way. I already told the guy when I made the reservation that we wouldn’t be there until 7:00 or so, but we were running late so I decided to call them and let them know. Well when I called, apparently the reservation was never written down– we were nowhere on the books at all. I started asking questions about the place to make sure we had the right campsite– like how the guy’s name was Larry and he said there were bathroom facilities. The guy that I was talking to (apparently was the owner) told me that I might have the wrong place because they don’t have restrooms and we aren’t on the list for coming in that day. I told him I’d double check the number on my reservation and call back if we were heading that way to him. Well, I was right– that was the place I made the reservation. So I tried calling him back and his phone was turned off! We tried calling for TWO hours and still no response. So we decide just to show up and knock on his camper door! When we get there, my husband goes to his camper and does just that. The guy says– «how did you find me? I figured y’all would go somewhere else.» So, right off the bat, we were already mad at this guy. Then he looks at our camper and tells us we must be «camping on a budget» and that the previous owners wouldn’t have let us camp here with our camper because they didn’t allow campers in that looked like «they could fall apart, weren’t to a specific standard, or couldn’t make it out of the camp ground». I assured him that everything in our camper was brand new and wouldn’t fall apart and we were definitely NOT camping on a budget. All in all, the place was really nice but we will not be going back there nor recommending this place to anyone else thanks to the owner being super rude and caddy!

We stayed here from January 2014 to June 2014, 2 adults 3 kids. The park is super nice with good spacing. I could always use more space. The kids loved the nature trails and explored the entire place. Look for sticks with yellow tape, that would have been one of my boys favorite sticks. Price is good and the manager Larry is easy to work with. If you want to be off any communications grid this is the place to go. There is no cell service and the wifi is about as reliable. This is the one thing I would improve. The owner knows there is no cell coverage yet does not keep the wifi service up. Maybe it’s not important to him but to those of us who work from home, want to watch a flick or just a simple web search it is almost as important as having water service. It’s an easy thing to repair hopefully they do so.
We travel in 40′ 5^th wheel. Easy in and easy out. 50 and 30 amp service available. Water pressure 58 psi always.
