Established in 2011.

The idea for LatinoRen surged over 20 years ago as I found a way to go back to college after dropping out of Stanford University. Along the way, I improved my writing skills, which were below average for a Stanford student and I became a teacher at an Adult Learning Center in Boyle Heights. It is there that I found my passion for teaching students of all ages. I was even lucky enough to teach both a parent and child in some cases. My first 5 GED students obtained their GED in less than 3 months. The feeling of pride after I helped those students graduate still fills me with joy even to this day.

In 2011, he launched Latino Renaissance to address the need for a better GED prep course. His inspiration for this course came in 2002, shortly after his father passed away and while working as an Instructor at PUENTE Learning Center in Boyle Heights. His course focuses on teacher-​led instruction and has emphasis on test taking strategies. Recognizing that most students interested in the course were lacking skills in Mathematics and Writing, he designed a course that focuses approximately 80% on these two key deficient skills.
