Worst customer service ever. Never gets back to me. Had an urgent elevator service needed to be done and I had to call them everyday for 2 weeks until I got a response. Not surprised to see others had the same reviews on this site!!! HORRIBLE.

I have been attempting to schedule service for weeks and cannot even get a courtesy call or email back to let me know that at least my messages have been received and they are trying to schedule service. The customer service is terrible.

This is the worst possible company. They provide so-​called maintenance service for the elevator in our condominium building in Santa Monica. The sales representative knows very little about elevators and returns one out of four phone calls, if that. The mechanics are knowledgeable, but they won’t tell you when they’re coming, so you can talk to them. They come and go without telling you, and if there’s a problem, you’re out of luck. The person who oversees the sales reps can only be reached by email, which he doesn’t return. We are actively looking for a new service company.

I own an apartment building with an elevator and Amtech had been providing regular maintenance for it. Then our 5 year «load safety test» came due. I attempted to schedule this with them and they informed me I had to prepay the $ 1500 fee before they would do it. My sales rep was extremely confused about what sort of payment they could accept, told me I needed to mail a check which I did. No word from them about when the test will be done for weeks. (My deadline with the city has now passed.) I call and find the check has been «misplaced» but the debit card I initially offered to pay with now will be fine. Meanwhile, the elevator breaks down and I put in a service call with them. Their technicians are backed up and take a couple of days to come out. But the load safety team has some time and they arrive, unannounced. They leave without doing the test, This series of time wasting blunders on their part prompts me to write a letter to my rep expressing my concern over what seems to be a severe communication problem within their company. My letter is not rude, but does say I’m not sure I want to stay with them. My rep writes back a very defensive response, astonished at the issues I had laid out to her. And then… ignores me. Doesn’t call me back nor answer my emails. For weeks. Nothing personal, lady… I just need the elevator to work. I resort to dealing with her boss and, at the end of the month, cancel my contract with them. It’s now almost 8 months later and I hear from the manager that their techs are in the «engine room. «What??? Kind of creepy really. They can see that the elevator is being serviced by someone else now. Their log book of maintenance checklists has not been in that room for over half a year, replaced by the new company’s paperwork. Does that prompt the techs to check in with their dispatcher and the sales rep to talk to me? No. I think they are doing this so that they can keep billing me (fraudulently I would say). Or maybe they are just really lame and haven’t figured out that they should stop going to the places that DON’T have contracts with them instead of making time for the customers that do. Can a company like this stay in business? They sure lost mine.

Our elevator has been out of service for almost three months now. It was due to one of their men apparently having an accident or something. He died. So they say they have to investigate, have the state of California check the elevator out. In the meantime my husband is in a wheelchair and altho we are on the first floor it is dangerous to take him out to doctor appointment, therapy, or even outside for some sun. I cannot leave him alone in our unit… I must take him with me whenever I have to do errands, go to the doctor, dentist, etc. I also have a lower back problem and a bad knee due to all this climbing up and down the stairs. An elderly gentleman fell down carrying groceries up the stairs and I have seen older man using his cane to get down the stairs. Why is this company not doing it’s job? Are they waiting for someone to fall down the stairs and hurt themselves before they’ll take care of our elevator???
