I gave this grocery store four stars because I expected there to be better deals! All of the things I bought, which were mostly fruits and vegetables, I could definitely get them at a better price at my favorite grocery store… Trader Joes!
Although, they did have some interesting products which definitely were worth the try!

This review is for the bakery only. I went to order a cake for mother’s day this coming Sunday. There is a lady behind the counter doing something with cookies. Im looking at the designs available and keep looking up to see if the lady had seen me standing there waiting for assistance but nothing. An older man comes and she acknowedged him right away. Ok. I wait for him to leave so it can be my turn but as soon as he leaves she goes back to the cookies, as if im not even standing there in plain sight, so i ask her «can i place an order with you»? She sighs, walks the other direction and comes back with a paper and says in a grunty voice, OK. Im asking about prices and sizes and she seems seriously annoyed. I decide on a round 10 inch cake. I want soft pink and violet roses off to the side and she says «we only do big ones in the middle, not on the side and the only purple we have is a really dark one» so i change it to only soft pink and she seems annoyed as she scratches off the purple on her order sheet. She wadles over to get a priced ticket so i can go pay for my cake. I ordered a ½ sheet with strawberries here before and this cake was smaller but she was giving me the same price as the half sheet but the 10 inch round is much smaller. She slaps the receipt on the table and grunts «go pay this up front and bring back the receipt then we’ll be good to go». I didnt go pay anything. I dont want a cake that is gonna be her way, why cant the put my flowers on the top left at an angle? Thats why i came in to place an order at a bakery. Is this how they do cakes all the time? Cant the paying customer get what they want? Im going to Ralphs instead. Last time I placed an order for my daughter’s cake I was helped by a nice man with glasses at the bakery. Too bad he wasn’t there last night. That lady so obviously showed she doesnt like her job. She needs to be moved away from helping customers and hide her in the back to bake.

Chill place to buy groceries. Lyke it’s cool they got mini carts that are a hella fun. Makes me feel like a child you know?

Ok service at delicatessen, I have to look for lady at bakery I was looking for a bday cake for my daughter I told her, her name then she ask me to spelled for her which to me was a pretty obviously easy mistake proof name but oh well, cashier was very nice too so it was manager since they saw me struggling with self check out (which it’s very sensitive) carry stuff to the register. Found slightly more variety of fruit and veggies than stater bros. and even offer me help putting my stuff into the car. Which I decline because I feel bad for employees having to do this.

Absolutely never coming back here.
The employees are rude and useless. One employee scolded my 6 year old for touching a plant terrarium, while I was standing right next to here watching her. She wasn’t picking up the terrarium, she touched it with her finger because obviously terrariums are really cool. I thought «really bitch?» She wasn’t being reckless or wild or anything. Then at the checkout area the stupid self checkout was ridiculously sensitive so it kept saying my things weren’t being bagged. The employee came over and told me my daughter was putting her hands on it and that’s why it was messing up. No, lady. My kid was standing two feet beside me and I’m bagging the groceries myself. Literally the worst experience I’ve had at a market. Shit, I’ve had better service at WALMART! Never coming back here. Ever.

Ok so I don’t normally write reviews for supermarkets but here I am. I went in to Albertsons to grab a lunch and as I was having trouble in the self checkout the self checkout cashier comes over and I thought great here she comes to tell me how Im doing it wrong. Well, I was wrong. She came over and taught me how to use the machine correctly so I wouldn’t have issues in the future. We had a nice. short talk and she went about her day. I think her name was Maria or Marie; she was super friendly and helpful. Lets hope Albertsons stays in Downey for many years to come.

I have been going there for so many years. All I want to say is that Ruben is very good with customer service. He is always very pleasant and very nice.

I not paid by a survey. I am giving an honest review. I shopped there 9÷12÷15 and had difficulty with the check out and cashier and bagger young man forgot his name helped me that day. I dropped my card on that day I called and asked if it was turned in was on hold for ten minutes then hung up on. Called back and asked for Danny Ortiz girls said he wasn’t there. But was transfered to a Monica I believe a manager. Was on hold for Ten minutes then she answered put me on hold for thirty minutes frustrated I hung up. I can’t believe they would treat their customers like this but it is shade for that day only. I will not go there again. I will drive to willow st in long beach CA where they always are extremely helpful and nice and have true customer service and appreciation.

Since I can’t take the survey, because it hasn’t been 30 days since I took the last one,(But it’s a NEW month, c’mon! ;-D LOL) I thought I would Unilocal this store. I don’t shop here as much as I used to, (prices do that), I still do every now and then, and am so glad it’s there. They do have a great variety of everything. I also like to buy their «Essentials» products.
I’ve been shopping here for many, many years, and have come to know several people who work here, and I LOVE this store!
The employees make a point to be personable, and get to you know you. Excellent customer service, from the minute you walk in, until you check out.
I was there on the 4^th and the today, and both times, I interacted with Manny. He’s hilarious, makes the pain of the grocery bill, less painful, because he’s funny and carries on a great conversation! It was on the 4^th, that I couldn’t use a coupon I had gotten because I didn’t read it correctly and forgot the other item I needed, and Manny wen to go get the product I needed so I could use the coupon. While I hated to hold up the line a little bit longer, I greatly appreciated his help. The cashier on the 4^th was Josie R, whom I hadn’t seen in quite some time, but she remembered me and asked not only where my family was, as I usual shop with them, but HOW they were.
Ruben Torres is another employee who is very helpful and friendly, ALWAYS has a friendly smile and kind word.
Monique, I believe she is a store manager, while I don’t see her often, when she does see me, she too smiles and says Hello. While she may not know me/​us like some others, you can tell she does recognize me/​us.
It’s just so nice to shop at a store that feels almost like family.

Not much to write about. This store has been going down hill for some time now. I don’t really shop here anymore, selection and prices aren’t that good. Customer service and friendliness of staff is not what it used to be.

Hands down the best store in town. Excellent customer service. Fresh produce! Great prices And if there is something you can’t find, they’re awesome and will order it for you. You just can’t find this kind of service anymore. Manny is awesome and is the heart of this store — I highly recommend visiting if you have not!

I’ve been here so many times and it’s never failed me. They always have so much to choose from. It’s also enormous. The convenience for me is that I get to shop and even get a brisk walk in the process. It’s great. Always a clean store and they never run out of supplies. Everything seems to be baked fresh on a daily basis. The self checkout is pretty awesome and I use it very often for quick things. keep up the good work guys.

I really like Albertsons because they always have what I need. It’s always clean and check out tends to be pretty fast. There’s plenty of parking but you may have to get out and move shopping carts out of the way because some asshole was too lazy to push the cart a couple of feet to its rightful place. Other than that this place is pretty great.

This store has been great. The manager, Danny, and the front manager, Manny, are outstanding and very helpful.
The reason for the four out of five stars was because of an incident that I had at the store recently with a rude employee. I have never in all my time there had a bad experience. This was not the norm for the store but it was a pretty bad incident. After I contacted the store about the problem with the employee, Danny contacted me and was super helpful and apologetic about the situation. The way the incident was handled is why I will go back. Every employee, other than the one, is really nice and friendly. The produce is better than the other stores around and they always have the items I want in stock.
This is my grocery store and I am a fan.

So I came here to Albertson’s located on Firestone and Rives in Downey to buy chicken to make stuffed breast… n when I opened the package to clean it and start getting dinner ready this is what I saw!!! It had tiny hairs n black speckles everywhere like if they dropped it picked it up n packaged it… SO DISGUSTING IM NEVER BUYING GROCERIES HERE AGAIN… YOU GUYS SHOULD SHARE THIS TO MAKE PPL AWARE OF THEIR POOR QUALITY N UNSAFE FOOD…

Clean, organized, good layout very good verity. Plus welcoming and very help full staff.

I love going here when I’m looking to shop for wine or beer. They have a fine variety of wines, and also a decent selection of beers.
My girlfriend also loves shopping their gluten-​free isle. So this store serves more than one purpose for me.
In terms of produce and other market goods, everything always looks and tastes fresh.

No more alcohol in the self check. So now I have to wait 20 minutes with one checker. Nice customer service.

Came here today with expectations of purchasing Thresher shark.
None Available. The salmon and crab cakes were good second choices. The meat dept manager was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Great guy. I left his area and cruised by the bakery. I saw some awesome birthday cakes and decided to take a photo to send to the wife.
I wanted to ask her if she like it thereby I would order one.

«Huh? I’m sending the photo to my wife for approval.» I stated sheepishly
(her 5’7″ 280 lbs physique with arms larger than Arnold Shwartzenaeger, was very intimidating as I’m only 5’10″ 180 lbs and I didn’t want to get my azz kicked).
«YOU WANT PICTURES?, GO ON THE WEBSITE!» she commanded.
«Ok» I said.

I headed for the checkout line. Geez, the bakery Tyrant’s identical twin sister at the register.
She is busy talking with a coworker’s mother about Halloween.

All the other lines are moving and I am stuck having to listen to their prolonged conversation. In an effort for her to stall, the cashier began bagging in slow motion and walking around her «foxhole» to load the shopping cart, as she continued with her conversation.
Finally, she gets to me and kicks it into slow gear (which is probably high speed for her). I informed her that I was going to use my debit card. She nodded.
Uh, excuse me Ma’am, there is some information on the screen that appears to be a debit card transaction from the previous customer.

What? Uh, no. This is Albertsons. I am merely bringing this info to your attention as I don’t want an error on my transaction due to residual customer payment information on the card machine.

This place is my go to market. Just down the street from South Gate, but it is located in Downey so you can escape the 10% sales tax if I just drive down the street. Not too shabby.
The store is pretty clean and the presentation is as you would expect. Self check out is a plus and you can usually find many things on sale.
Fried Chicken from here is heaven… get some.

I really like the Albertson’s chains. This one is nice and big and always has plenty of parking. Everything is properly tagged and reflects the current prices.
Staff are funny and are always cracking jokes.
I drive here from H.P. for a good reason. It’s so clean and sometimes the lines can get long but I try to shop strategically and visit later in the evening.
I think the prices here are a little higher than the rest but I enjoy the quality and freshness of their goods over the Food 4 Less and Superior’s in my area.
