I bought my BMW x5 from Adam, very happy with my car, I got great deal and was very easy to deal with them, I would totally recommend them

This car dealership should by fined and shut down for deceptive sales practices and theft!!!
I wish I would have read these reviews prior to purchase.
My friend purchased a Mercedes from these crooks about a month ago and has already experienced issues with car. The car is pulling hard to right side and she was told by a mechanic, not from Star Motors, that the two front wheels were bent and the rear tire was very worn on inside tread. She was told that car had 4 new tires. Also, one of the front tires was mounted backwards! Who does this!!!
She was given a quote of 1000.00 for tires and labor.
When she called Star Motors and discussed it with Moe, the original sales man, he told her there’s nothing he can do and stopped returning her calls.
She called back and spoke to general manager, who’s name escapes me right now, and he told her he would take care of it. That was a week ago and he is not returning her calls or emails.
This will prompt a bbb complaint and more. She bought in good faith but ended up buying their sales pitch and lies.
I will make it my mission to see that these crooks are liable for their shady practices.

Some of the staff was friendly but Nash who I worked seemed to have no manners and was rude which is fine I’m there to buy a car not make friends but geez was he just rude. Ended up not buying a car here because of that and because the vehicle was somewhat over priced. Also this place has a weird euro vibe with house music playing in the background which isn’t bad I just it a little amusing.

Awesome dealership very professional and courteous employees. Found my car online and got a response within minutes, showed up the next day and was created right away by my salesman Nash who was helpful from start to end. Highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for any style car for cheap prices. Also had no problem getting approved for a loan with Chris who helped me get in and out very quickly.

I was looking for a car for about a couple months until I finally went to star motor sales. The staff was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They made car shopping easy and not stressful! I would definitely go there again in a heartbeat or send anyone of my friends and family there! Thank you so much star motor sales!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My story is very similar to some of the other bad reviews on here.
This all happened January 19 – 21, 2015. First, I drove from the Chicago to their sister dealership 505 Motors which is a mile or two down the street from Star Motor Sales. 505 had the car I liked but all negotiations were done at Star Motors.
Upon walking into 505, I had my two year old son with me and it was like walking into a dirty, dingy smoke pit. From what I could tell, every guy working there was a chain smoker and one guy had the audacity to light up a cigarette within 30 seconds of us arriving and within 5 feet from my son. That lack of professionalism should have been my first red flag.
I initially was working with Kal at 505 and he was good to work with, even allowed me to take the Range Rover home for two days to test it out but also because when seeing the CarFax they gave me, I had a couple concerns and wanted to take it to Howard Orloff Land Rover. Orloff is who had done all the servicing for the vehicle and I even paid $ 150 out of pocket to do a thorough inspection of all details and why the check engine light came on. To my surprise, nothing major came back with the exception of needing strut soon.
Upon bringing the car back and us starting to negotiate, I was handed over to Ray who supposedly was the manager or one of the owners or some bullshit like that. Ray is beyond the most unprofessional individual I’ve ever met. You can tell immediately upon him opening his mouth you have to take what he says with a grain of salt.
We did negotiate and to a somewhat fair price. It was still a little high for the strut work that was needed but since I was purchasing the extended warranty (mostly because I still had a skeptical feeling about them), he said just wait 30 days and submit it to the warranty company and that they will cover it. All warranty companies out there should stay FAR away from these guys!
So, after agreeing on a price, I told them what the max I was willing to pay monthly and the terms I wanted. And yes, I was able to demand better terms because I have excellent credit. Little things added up and added up and I actually walked away without buying the car. I went home and still negotiated the next day and agreed again.
Now comes the part that shows Ray has absolute no respect for customers or for the vehicle that was just purchased for almost $ 30k. He drove the Range Rover from Downers Grove to the city and smoked the entire way. This was mid-​day on a weekday, which means the trip took no more than 20 – 30 minutes. Yet, he didn’t have the consideration to not smoke. When I said something to him about it, he laughed and thought it was funny and not a big deal. I was pissed as I have to put a 2 year old in the car. I put fresh coffee beans in the car to eliminate the smell and tried fresheners. I ended up having to spend $ 150 to get it detailed, something he said they would reimburse me for if it was needed. Well, I’ve never seen that money and I have it in writing from him. He also couldn’t find the manual and said he would order one and get it back to me ASAP. He also could not locate the spare key and said I would need to purchase a new one. And to top it all off, we are approaching two months from when I purchased and he nor 505 or Star Motors has given me my warranty information. Knowing what I know now, most likely I don’t have a warranty and they pockets the $ 3,500.
I call 505 and they say I have to call Star. I call Star and they say I have to talk to Ray at 505. I have reached out to Ray multiple times with absolutely no call back. Now, the only option I had was to get my attorney involved which I have done. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB as well as the State of Illinois.

Ver nice staff to deal with. I am extremely happy with my new audi S4. Already sent 2 of my friends there. They are willing to work with you so hard to make the deal happen and they are absolutely not pushy. Way to go star motor sales!!!

Pay no mind to the other 2 reviews that are currently posted on here. This place is a scam if you don’t know much about cars.
I was 18 at the time I bought an Audi from here, and at that time I didn’t have anyone to give me any advice on how to purchase a car and what to look for and what not. All I had on my mind was getting a cool looking car to impress my friends. And yes, I do take the blame myself too for this.
I purchased a 2004 Audi 1.8T Quattro in December 2012. A guy named Fil helped me, and Adam was there too for the finalization, since he’s the manager.
After a couple of days, a friend rolled down the passenger window and it wouldn’t go back up. So I took the car back and they fixed it for free, however, they had me wait almost 3 hours for it.
Also, the fuel gauge had errors. It never told me the accurate level, it just bounced back and forth, so I couldn’t really tell when I needed to fill up. I told them this and took the car to them and Fil said their mechanic ran fuel pressure tests and that car is pumping the proper amount. False. After a couple of weeks, I noticed the car was eating up a lot of gas. A LOT. I would get about 11 – 12 MPG in city, and around 15 MPG if I rode on highways only. I knew german luxury cars were gas hogs, but this wasn’t right. After many trips back and forth, I gave up since I live in Chicago and the trip to Downers Grove is quite long. And everytime I went, they just gave me some BS answers.
Here’s a list of problems I came to notice in the next few months:
–Bad tires, all 4 of them. I got all 4 brand new. I spent $ 600
–Wheels weren’t balanced, and the alignment was off. This isn’t a big issue, but when you purchase a car from a dealership, it should come with a fresh oil change, alignments, proper tire pressure, balanced wheels, etc. When I called and told them that the alignment was off, even they said that they align every vehicle, which was a lie I guess.
–Heater core was bad, I was freezing in my car. Got it fixed for $ 300
–Head gasket went bad, then the head got a crack in it. I spent $ 2000 to fix it and after I got a new head, I noticed my car was eating up less gas, but still not back to normal and fuel gauge still bouncing around. So at this point, I didn’t know what was eating up gas and causing the fuel gauge error because I had different mechanics try to diagnose and they all said it’s not the fuel pump, and they really couldn’t figure out the issue.
–After I fixed the head, a couple months later, my check engine light came on for the catalytic converter. It’s been going off and on for a few months now and I haven’t fixed it yet, since a new catalytic converter is pricey and I guess my car runs okay for the time being taking me from point A to point B. However, after I researched the symptoms of a bad catalytic converter, I found that one of them is bad gas mileage. Perhaps this is what’s causing my car to eat up gas. I’m not sure if I’ll fix the converter or just sell the car.
–Also, they only had one copy of the key and I asked them if they can get me another. They said yes, but of course not for free. They explained to me that if I tried to buy a key on my own it would be expensive, but they can just get a key for me at a dealer price and I can just pay their end. I called them a few times asking about the key and they said it’s coming and they’ll let me know. They never did. Till this day, I still only have one key. It’s not a big problem, but I just have to be careful and not lock it in the car or lose it.
I didn’t know I was ripped off until about a month later when I started to discover all these problems, but it was too late and I couldn’t return the car.
Their lot looks very good, since they have mostly luxury cars, and when you first go there you feel amazed looking at all the BMWs, Audis, Lexus’s, Infinitis, etc. And they were very nice in person, being very talkative, very friendly, etc. And I guess I let it fool me. After I had bought the car, when I would call them, they were just bitter.
So don’t let all the pretty cars, and friendly gestures at the dealership fool you. Your focus should be one thing and one thing only. A good car at a fair price.
Also, another thing I’d like to point out is that don’t always trust the CarFax. I had checked the CarFax of my car before I purchased it and it was clean. Not everything gets reported to CarFax. So even if the CarFax says it’s clean, it just means that nothing was reported. So again, be very careful.
All in all, unless you know about cars, stay away from this place. And even if you do, I would highly recommend that before you purchase a car here, you get it checked by a mechanic you trust.
And for some reason you find yourself buying a car here, before you do purchase it, check everything. I mean literally everything. Check if all the windows work, if the radio works, if the trunk opens, if the moon roof opens and closes properly, etc etc.
AGAIN, STAY AWAY

Bought a car here a few days ago, the staff stayed late to make sure I left with the car that night which was great! They are honest and helpful. The price was very reasonable for the car — actually below what all of the area competitors were offering. Good deal!
