Took our Saab here a few times on a recommendation to get the convertible top worked on. Problem was diagnosed pretty quickly (low hydraulic fluid) and adequately addressed to the tune of lots of money (~$ 500) because, according to the mechanic, the entire rear seat has to be removed in order to top off the fluid. I should have known better than to go back when the same problem re-​emerged the following year, but $ 500 seemed worth having the use of the convertible top (why else was I driving around a car that flooded every time it rained?).
Went for an oil change a while later, and the mechanic suggested that I start looking for a new car, which was a pretty startling suggestion, since he’s supposed to know what he’s talking about, and I thought the car was fine. There wasn’t anything in particular except that the whole car was at risk of «falling apart» imminently. Took it to the Saab dealership down the street (recently re-​purposed as an Aston Martin dealership) to get a more definitive answer. The car is fine. Topping off the hydraulic fuel for the convertible top is something I can do in an hour with $ 20 worth of fluid. Needless to say, they’re never touching my car again.
The first time I went there, they did offer me a beer, though. That gets them an extra star.
