shoddy equipment and overpriced.

I’m a Marine Veteran and I’ve looked for a place that would be close to home and school and work. I found Ace’s, I went a few times and the guys who worked there were pretty nice. I bought 2 guns from this place and 1000 rounds, a bit pricey but I was loyal to them. I went back about 3 weeks ago with some brothers and after I paid I was inquiring about bringing them more business, being that I enjoyed going there. Never have I ever had to deal someone so disrespectful. I was asking a question about pricing and the guy who was assisting me with my checkout walked away from me and basically pushed me off to the side. Yes I understand that my business was done but any business knows that you don’t make your money on that 1 time customer but rather on repeat loyal customers. I don’t think I will ever go back to Ace’s as I don’t have an urge to deal with people who don’t know how to have common courtesy. As far as the range goes I will say they had an alright facility. The air conditioning doesn’t work in the rifle range but does in the pistol last I checked. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone after this last visit to be honest.

The owner of this place is pathetic. Called them to get a quote on a Ruger ¹⁰⁄₂₂ and whether they had them in stock. The guy put me on hold for 10 minutes. Called back, same thing left mean hold. Called back a third time begging with a different guy to not put me on hold and eventually got a price.
To the manager, it is pretty pathetic when your incompetent staff can’t even hold a basic telephone conversation. But that is why you are ranked as the lowest among Dade county shooting ranges.
Also, I found your quote on the Ruger ¹⁰⁄₂₂ at Ace’s to be the highest priced. Went to Pantera Guns which was also in Doral and didn’t have to deal with your incompetent staff. Pantera Guns gave me a much better price and didn’t have to order it, not to mention much better service.

Rather creepy — wouldn’t shoot here again. Can’t hear and they charged us twice even though we brought and we’re sharing a gun.

Good customer service, easy breezy sign up, no wait time today (Saturday evening). Target control extremely simple for anybody to manage. Very clean. Fare pricing. Shooting area supervised. Tried the Beretta px4 and Kahr PM9. Rentals consist of Beretta, Kahr, Sig, S&W, H&K, Walter, ect.

We had a great time! The associates were kind and attentive. We rented regular semi-​auto, full auto also available for rent, and bought the ammo. Many rounds later, we were smiling and had some great memories. Easy on the wallet too.

If you love getting ripped off and dealing with arrogant compulsive lying staff members you’re going to LOVE this place.
The place is completely falling apart, I always leave there coughing lead since there’s no ventilation and or the ventilation hoods inside the range are straight up broken.
Everything inside is beyond over priced, the staff is horrible, the manager Jose is a lazy compulsive liar.
I use to always come here back when they were the only indoor range in the area. Because they were the only range I use to «suck it up» and put up with the dickhead staff members and overpriced everything. However thankfully other better ranges have opened up and I can finally send these people to go F***.

Excellent and friendly customer service. This was my first time shooting, and they were patient, educational, and accommodating with me. We brought a large group, and it was a lot of fun!

I used this place for a gun transfer and that’s it. Once I told them I didn’t need any ammo or accessories they became somewhat rude. And wtf is up with charging you extra if you don’t buy their ammo. I save almost $ 42 buying my ammo online, no thanks. Btw someone should tell them to update their website it really sucks!

After reading many of the reviews here on Unilocal,I must also agree with the individuals that have negative feelings about the staff. Many of the staff members can be a bit off-​putting. On one occasion after I had finished shooting and had gone to the register to pay, I handed the clerk my card and he asked me «debit or credit?» to which I replied «whichever you prefer» the clerk then said in a rude tone «well it’s your card sir.» Although he is right and it was my card, I have experience in retail and understand that certain companies actually prefer debit transactions over credit. I was in no way trying to give him a hard time. More recently I had called them to inquire about a holster I wanted for a particular model handgun. Since I live in the Palmetto Bay area I wanted to be sure that they had it in stock before I made the 25 minute drive out there. The sales associate assured me that they had it and I made the drive up. When I arrived I asked the first employee I saw behind the counter about the item and he told me that they did not have any more in stock for my particular firearm. I was quite frustrated and informed him that I drove all that way for nothing, he then suggested a different holster that was made for another brand of firearms and said I could «modify» it to fit properly. I literally looked at him and shook my head in disbelief. I have purchased firearms from them and shot there on many occasions and although I do not like the fact that they charge you an additional fee to shoot your own ammo on top of their hourly price, I understand why they do it. All in all, I’d rather go shooting at Stoneheart any day, they do not charge you extra to shoot your own ammo and their facilities are superior to that of ace’s. They even have better prices on weapons there as well.

Like everyone else stated already, rude/​unprofessional staff. The range safety «officer» (RSO) with the british accent is a dick, if I was the owner I would definitely do some changes in the staff area. Almost forgot, try not to shoot the cable holding the target or they will charge you 20 bucks. (Damn you shot gun!)
Honestly you are better off going to any other indoor range, the one in Hialeah is a lot better.

This is my first gun range experience. It was kind of a cold environment, and there was only one other ‘shooter’ there — but I really liked the staff and thought there were funny and very helpful in answering my questions about shooting and different guns, etc. I don’t think I’ll be back though, I didn’t really like the experience. I’m just happy I know how to use the gun that we own.

I’m someone who likes to shoot often. Ace’s has given me mixed experiences. I realized they are a lot nicer when it’s not real busy (during the weekdays around late morning), versus on the weekends where we have felt annoyed with the amount of customers. Shooting is personal, so cold staff sucks.

From the three shooting ranges in the area, Ace’s is the last option for me.
What really kills this place is the attitude from the staff. They seem to signal the impression that they don’t need anyone so piss off.
The place itself is clean and well maintained. The prices are a bit high comparing to other ranges in the area. Their membership is no advantage if you are trying to save a few bucks.
I love shooting and I can easily by pass the crappy staff but for the high price, I rather take my hard worked money somewhere else and enjoy my time.

Aces, like a lot of places in Miami, gets a lot of bad reviews and I think it’s probably the customers who deserve the bad reviews. Sounds like everyone is mad when they have to pay, and have no idea how expensive it is to run a business.
I have been to aces twice, had a great time and no problems with the staff or anything else. Open until 10pm which is worth a lot to me and I have no problem paying a local small independent business for a service that I enjoy.
If you think everyone should sell bullets as cheap as Walmart, you are helping our middle class disappear and need to be retrained as a customer.
** Update.
I was back again for shooting; and bought my firs hand gun. They were very helpful in helping try out the guns and holsters. No complaints. Sure you can find everything cheaper online but there won’t be anyone to answer your questions or share knowledge which is worth a lot to me.

There isn’t too many indoor spots where you can take your gun and fire at will. This one happens to be in a commercial area, somewhat convienent.
I’m going along with what everyone says, it’s a bit pricey. $ 15 per hour per lane which is a few bucks more than the average. You do however save on the hourly rate if you purchase their ammo.
The target holder have office supply paper clips which if you happen to knock off with a round they’ll charge you $ 2. A box of these cost $ 2 — another way to make money I get it.
The place is clean and organized though. Not my first choice but like I said not too many to choose from.

The place is pretty organized. You show up for the range, if you have the range card it’s faster, they take it and your driver’s license and you wait for your turn. I believe the range and gun shop is well run, and I’ve never had a problem with the staff; not sure what you read on here about not friendly.
I have been going with my son for about a year and never really paid attention to the detail of what I was paying until I started talking to friends… What a shaft on price for the range; it’s a per hour fee per person, even for my son who is 12. I have learned that not all ranges in town are like that; most just charge you a range fee, not per hour, and the child doesn’t pay. So Ace pretty much charges me for two lanes even though I use only one with my son. We used to rent the gun and that was fine, $ 20…They have a nice selection of rentals from handguns to some heavy duty rifles (ie uzi, etc).
One way or the other they will stick it to you though, lol. If you buy their ammo you pay less for range time but the ammo is priced about $ 5 more per box than other ranges locally. If you bring your own ammo then you pay more for the range… Nice, huh?
Parking could be a problem on the weekends b/​c it gets pretty packed.
They don’t allow you to take pictures in the range for some reason; when other ranges do allow it, so that’s another negative for them.
In summary great place, great range, staff is courteous; but their pricing is too high, hence the low rating.

NEVER AGAIN!!! The guy at the counter was rude as HELL!!! (I can’t remember his name but he was Hispanic, had dark hair and was in his mid-​late 20’s) he had a horrible attitude! I have never dealt with anyone like that ever… ugh.
Then we went to our shooting lane and it was freezing in there! They literally must’ve had the AC on 40! I was shivering uncontrollably while trying to aim at my target! I would NEVER waste my time coming back here again… the prices for the lane rental and ammo are just way too overpriced! Not to mention rude ass staff!

This place is terrible. I kept going back becuase i love to shoot and always look for the closest place to home. The staff act like they are rambo and ask you questions like your in an interrogation. The ammo is overpriced and youre pretty much paying for every accessory. If you think you can budget by bringing your own ammo think again; its like only the ammo they have seems to protect the range from wear n tear.
I brought my shotgun here, which i paid extra to fire and it was clearly an experience only i enjoyed while everyone in the range was making smartass comments to show how upset they were with the BOOM it gave off. One staff even had the audacity to ask me when id be done. Honestly this place is the worst range i have been at.

Well I’ve been saying I wanted to go to the gun range and FINALLY I went.
I must say I jumped the first few times the gun went off. I actually went around 9pm on a Friday night and we were allowed to shoot ‘as a courtesy’, since they close at 10.
Anyway for two people on one lane it came up to about $ 85… After speaking with friends, I beleive they used my butthole as their gun range. We paid for the gun, ear plugs, eye googles (that they didn’t tell us we could keep), bullets, shooting target and lane time.
I gave them a three because I don’t have anyone else to compare them to. Would I go back? Yep
