Dr. Tracy has been serving our family for almost 2 years now. Every time I stop by his Unilocal page, to look at his hours of operation, I’m irked by the low number of stars he has. I am finally doing my duty as a loyal and satisfied customer by submitting my review!
Our first office visit was in 2014; we left our dog with our mom while on vacation, and after coming back from vacation we moved about 60 miles away from the Diamond Bar area. Upon moving, our dog’s health seemed to decline. She whimpered when jumping up on furniture, and most alarming of all, her appetite wasn’t the same. At first, we pinned it on the move, but when we discovered she was burning up, we immediately contacted family and friends for a Veterinarian recommendation. To Dr. Tracy’s office we went, may I remind you, we drove 60 miles because I would not settle for a Vet whom I did not receive a recommendation for from a trusted source.
On the exam table Dr. Tracy felt around my dog’s shoulder blades and quickly shaved her fur in the spot where she was experiencing pain to reveal irritated scrapes. I later figured she got those from scavenging in the bushes in her grandmother’s backyard while we were out of town. He determined the scrapes were infected, gave her a shot, and she perked up instantly! I was so happy to see her demeanor change so quickly I could have cried. He sent us home with anti-​biotics and a topical ointment, and my baby recovered beautifully! I might add that while Vet visits like these are almost always expensive, Dr. Tracy’s office did not over charge!
A year later, we were back after my girl sniffed a fox tail up her nose while on a hike and was sneezing insistently. Dr. Tracy sent us home with antibiotics to protect against infection and told me to let it run its course since it would likely come out on its own. Sure enough, a week later I noticed a fox tail on the bed right where she was laying! I put it in a baggy and showed it to the dr. at her follow up appointment, because she continued to sneeze for a week or so after that. Dr. Tracy assured me that the root of the problem had been expelled and that she was probably still just experiencing some irritation. He sent us home with another round of anti-​biotics, to reduce any inflammation and to protect against infection, and once again the treatment worked.
Recently I arranged to speak with Dr. Tracy on the phone about having her spayed, and we had an intelligent conversation about what the real benefits for the dog are (other than the obvious pregnancy prevention). Dr. Tracy did this graciously, at no cost to me.
If you’re looking for a quality health professional to have in your family’s corner for years to come, look no further! Dr. Tracy is a treasure.
I’m traveling again for my dog to see him tomorrow. Her arm is sore and she is whimpering when coming up to a standing position so we need the doc. to take a look.
He’s worth every mile, and every penny. I completely trust him with the life of my beloved pet.

Great vet. Always caring and does not try to gouge you for unnecessary and expensive costs like some other vets in the area. I have taken all my pets to him for over 15 years. Dr. Tracey always gets to the root of the problem and has saved two of my cats lives. Highly recommend this vet.

There are too many vets in town to settle for one that has 3 stars out of 5. That is already a red flag. Too bad Unilocal wasn’t around (or at least that popular) when I first came here.
I brought my chihuahua, Choco to this place for her regular annual shots when she was about 2 years old (she is now 10 years old!). For whatever reason, the shots that this doctor gave ended up forming some sort of bubble on her back. Now mind you, these are just basic annual shots, nothing special or crazy. TO THIS DAY, my dog still has that bump on her back, in between her shoulder blades. and TO THIS DAY, my dog has never had any issues with any of her shots from other doctors (so please don’t even try to claim that my dog had an allergic reaction).
I don’t consider myself overly sensitive/​picky. I’ve been to 3 – 4 different vets since I’ve had Choco (10 years), and I never really had an issue with any of them except for this one.
Regardless, if you’re not going to believe my review/​story for this place, the 3 star should chase you away. Don’t settle for 3 stars for your baby! Like I said, there are way too many vets out there that are qualified to get the job done PROPERLY.

I’ve been coming here with my pets for 18 years. Dr Tracy is so wonderful with the animals gentle loving caring. I imagine that’s why his practice and so busy. Because anybody that bring syrup at they see how well they’re treated. I love this place and always well thank you Dr Tracy

Dr. Tracy’s been the family vet for decades. He and his team are capable, competent, and trustworthy. He doesn’t recommend unnecessary tests or medications. Yeah, he’s pretty old-​school, and can be a bit brusque at first — but he’s also taken fantastic care of my pets over the years, even managing to save the life of one of my dogs when she had parvo. He’s realistic and straightforward, which is refreshing.

I see that there are a lot of bad reviews here, and I can’t negate or confirm any of them, but I can share my own experiences.
Dr. Tracy’s office isn’t fancy, and he himself is more of a straightforward kind of guy. He has always been upfront with me and has never tried to sell me on extra tests or procedures, which is why my family continues to come here. We’ve never had a problem, and Dr. Tracy will never really be that kind of guy who tries to entertain or make a ton of small talk, which is fine with us. We’ve only come here for routine checkups/​shots and one time when my pup’s face was swollen. He immediately found the problem and in my experience, he gets the job done.
This isn’t a 5-​star fancy experience, but Dr. Tracy seems to be a good vet, and we will continue to come here.

The asshole Dr. Tracy tried to choke out my 6 month old puppy because he didn’t want to take the meds that were trying to be given. Not professional at all! I work in the medical field as well and this will not be tolerated. He is lucky I was at work when my dog was taken otherwise he would have been the one choked out.

The only reason this Clinic received 2 stars is because my puppy is still alive and happy today. This Dr. was shockingly rude, uncaring and suffers from a complete lack of positive bedside manner.
While I wasn’t in my room and my puppy was my puppy chewed through a plastic bag that she knocked off my end table and bit through half of a prescription medication. I came in the room and saw her drop it on the ground. immediately I grabbed the pill, cleaned out her mouth and called my old vet. (I had just moved so my old vet is over an hour away). My vet told me to take my vet to an emergency clinic immediately and have them induce vomiting.
The closest emergency clinic to my new residence was the Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic. My husband called ahead to alert the staff of the situation so they would be ready for my arrival.
I entered and was escorted to a room, the vet tech weighed my dog and the Dr. came in. The first thing the Dr. said to me was «Your dog will most likely die.» I was already crying at this point and this sent me into sobs. I asked if there was anything he can do, he then said, «The dog ingested a lethal dose, I will do what I can but the dog will most likely die.» He then had a tech take my dog to the back to induce vomiting. I heard the tech say to him, she’s not showing any symptoms. I couldn’t hear what the vet said in response, but I heard my puppy let out a couple sharp cries.
I was then escorted in the front room to pay. I am sobbing and the vet tech tells me it will be between $ 360-​$ 700. I said do I need to pay that now and she said yes, but let me speak to the Dr. The Dr. told her in the back that I needed a $ 200 deposit. My dogs health and life is priceless to me so I would have paid whatever for her to be okay.
I continued to sob and the vet tech whispered to me that she thought my puppy would be okay and based on what I thought she may have ingested, her weight and the lethal ratio she will be ok.
The doctor came back out and told me that she was vomiting asked me what we had fed her today, I told him. He said they were putting her on fluids and going to observe her through the afternoon. He then said «She may make it through.» I asked if I should stay or go and if they would call me. The Dr. told me that I should go and that I needed to call to check and see how she is doing.
I called 30 minutes after leaving and the vet tech said she had finished vomiting and they were going to try to feed her. I called every 45 to an hour after that, each time I called they said she was doing fine or good and that was about it. The never offered much information to me at all other than that she was fine or good. I had to ask if or when I could or should get her.
I picked her up after she was there for 5. She was full of energy and so happy to be back home with me. The Dr. did not come out to speak to me and was nowhere to be seen when I picked her up. I paid and was given zero follow up information about how things went or what I should do for after care. NO INFO WHATSOEVER, they took my money handed me my dog and sent me on my way. NO TAKE HOME INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL!
This whole clinic felt cold, uncaring, and everyone there apart from the one vet tech seemed to lack any emotion or empathy. And it seemed like the vet tech who cared was afraid to show compassion for some reason she felt the need to whisper comforts to me.
The Dr. had ZERO positive bedside manner. It didn’t seem like he cared about my dog, or me as a pet owner or client. I will never bring my dog here again. My animals are my children and I am their parent. I wouldn’t let a human doctor treat me or anyone in my family the way he treated me. I had a total of maybe 2 minutes of interaction with this Dr, none of that time was positive. My previous vet was warm caring and actually called me to see how my puppy was doing, even though I didn’t take her to see him. I am researching a new vet in my area and will NEVER return to this clinic. I am so grateful my puppy is alive and healthy and they did only charge me $ 240. But in a situation where I was already a nervous wreck and sobbing, to be treated the way this Dr treated my was completely unacceptable!

My groomer recommended Dr. Tracy when our new Morkie was having problems. I am so glad I took our puppy there! Dr. Tracy took the time to hear my concerns and was able to diagnose and treat issues that two other vets couldn’t figure out. I feel like I have found a Doctor that cares about our little Morkie as much as we do.

After just one visit, I feel like Dr. Tracy and the entire team at Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic have become family. I am an over protective worry wart when it comes to my children (my pets). I recently adopted a new puppy from a local shelter and brought him into Dr. Tracy to have a thorough check up as well as receive vaccinations. This was my first time adopting from an animal shelter so I had some concerns about bringing him around the other pets in the household. Dr. Tracy answered every question and then some. Unlike other vets I have been to, I did not feel rushed to address all of my concerns. In addition, the entire staff at Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic treat each pet as if it were their own. Judging by the other pets in the office it was as if they were excited to come to the vet! That alone speaks for itself!!!

Dr Tracy was a wonderful doctor and I would take my pets there whenever they need care. The office staff was attentive and helpful. I got seen within 10 minutes and the office did not double book like I thought might happen. My dog was thoroughly checked out and given the proper meds for his condition. I also like how I was not charged for services I did not need and the doctor didn’t try to talk me into running any tests or buying any special medications or foods, which some veterinary offices try to do.

I bought my first house in Diamond Bar in 1977 and have been bringing the many dogs and cats my family has lived with since that time to Dr. Tracy. The negative reviews I see here are definitely at odds with what I’ve come to expect at DB Vet Clinic.
Doctor Tracy and his staff have always been very amiable, and willing to discuss any matters I chose to bring up. When I’ve brought a dog or cat in for treatment there is always a home call the next day to see how they’re doing. As far as the cost goes I can’t really speak that well to that as I haven’t taken my animals anywhere else. I took my terrier mix dog in today to be looked at for ear infection problem. Problem was diagnosed and 3 medications were given along with advice on how to control and manage the problem. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Tracy and Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic.

This place has always stuck in my head after a weird experience.
I’m a therapist so I highly trust my intuition in most situations. When something feels wrong it usually is.
I found a kitten about 4 years ago and wanted to get her shots and vaccinations before finding her a home. I randomly chose DB vet clinic.
Making the appointment was fine. Front desk lady was fine. The veterinarian himself was not very comforting, barely greets you, and I felt a little unsettled. My initial instinct told me he was burned out or didn’t enjoy the work with animals.
Most places take you and your pet into a back room for the exam/​check up, but they took her and I waited in the lobby. This kitten was friendly and appeared comfortable before going back. Not difficult to hold at all. She hadn’t known me more than a few days so it’s not like we had a solid bond yet. But while she was back there I heard her crying. Kind of painful sounding cry. I recognized it since I already have 2 cats of my own.
I’ve had many pets need shots and this never happened with any of them. She came out looking frightened and her fur was all wet and odd looking. I felt kind of panicked and helpless while I was in the lobby waiting. My gut felt like this place was a little off. I felt bad as these little guys trust us to make sure they are safe and in good hands. I knew I’d never go back there again, but weird reading other people’s similar reviews. Validates my instincts.

Wow what’s up with these bad reviews?
I have 4 dogs & have worked with dogs & have raised them all my life. Dr Tracy is good & so is the staff. Are they over the top warm & bubbly? No but they ARE competent, honest, caring & professional.
I read where some said Dr Tracy was dishonest & should not be trusted. Well first never trust ANYONE fully. Don’t blindly take your animal & not do research. If you study up on your pet you won’t be surprised with the treatments.
Always ask questions and what your options are. You owe it to yourself and your pet to be as knowledgeable as possible.
Having said all that I do like Dr. Tracy and his staff a lot. I have never felt used and I have had major work and surgeries done on my pets there. Keep in mind I study dogs and my particular breeds so I know what to expect. If you do this, you will not feel bad/​used/​etc when you take them to a vet and things don’t go as you expected. — Take care.

I took my dog in because he had some weird-​looking growths or fungus or SOMETHING attached to his shoulders that definitely didn’t look like normal dog bits.
I called, and they had an appointment ready for me right away. I came in, and the place was empty– didn’t realize that many people read the Unilocal reviews for this place.
But the service was fine! They were really nice, not SUPER bubbly and smiley, but, you know, pleasant. The whole vet visit only took about 10 minutes– turned out those nasty things on my dog were actually ticks! (Freaking gross)
And the cost of all this was? 105 dollars, with the medication included. KIND OF expensive for such a short visit to the vet, but I guess that’s reasonable for a doctor’s visit without insurance. My dog doesn’t have Blue Cross :(and, as it turns out, the vet was indeed an animal doctor, so I’m not too upset about the price
Basically, I didn’t see anything wrong with the way they treated my dog. The staff didn’t seem like they were conspiring to hurt me or my pet, so that was nice. Maybe it’s because I came in with a really simple problem? I don’t know why my experience was so much more positive than the vast majority of reviews here. Oh, well! I thought the place was fine– extra star for speed.

If you love your cat or dog, please don’t take them here. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have a miniature dachshund that I took here. He was acting out of character, lethargic, not eating or drinking water. Dr. Tracy is a liar, lazy, and should get his veterinary license taken away. I have never met someone so dishonest, and un-​dedicated to their profession. No one should go into any medical/​veterinary fields if they are in it for the money.
First visit:
He assured me nothing is wrong with my pet; he is simply was a bit dehydrated. Cost: $ 270. Total time spent examining my pet: 10 minutes
Second visit:
«He is having some back pain, can I shoot some x-​rays?»
First of all, he over-​charged me the first visit, so I refused. The x-​rays should have been recommended the first visit! Cost: $ 120 Total time spent examining pet: 5 minutes
A few days later, my dog stopped walking.
It turns out his one of the discs in his back was calcifying. I took my dog to a vet over in La Mirada. It was the best thing I could have done. The vet wasted no time and spent nearly an HOUR examining my pet, and answering all of my questions and concerns, trying to get to the bottom of this. He was honest and did not over charge me! Maybe because I live in Diamond Bar I live with a bunch of conniving, money hungry, c*nts. Excuse my bluntness, but I am pretty upset over the service I received here. And most of all, I put my pet in danger for taking him to such a scheming vet.

I’m writing this in response to a comment I received on my previous review.
Cody was not a small dog. He was a golden retriever — a very large one, even for the breed. He also had an extremely good appetite. He went from a healthy 85 pounds down to around 50 pounds over the course of a couple of months. He looked like a skeleton. His face was gaunt. His eyes were sunken in. For someone with an advanced veterinary degree and decades of experience to think that this was part of the normal aging process is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, I admit it was our mistake to trust the vet — thinking (and truly HOPING) that he knew more than us and that nothing was really wrong with our beloved Cody. I should’ve known that my family and I knew our dog best after living with him and taking care of him for 12 years. I still have wonderful memories of Cody, but am just so sad that he was wasting away from cancer before we found him real help. Just thinking about how I trusted Dr. Tracy and tried to coax Cody to eat cat food from my hands while he was in unspeakable pain still pisses me off to no end.

Okay what is going on with all of these bad reviews?!
You can shoot me for giving Dr. Tracy and his staff 5 Stars, but I could care less.
I take all of my pets here, Layla (Golden Retriever), Belle (Beagle) and Kiki (Tabby Cat) and I always appreciate the kindness of Dr. Tracy and his staff. The staff always calls back a few days later to check on how our pets our doing after visits that involve medication.
Dr. Tracy might seem a bit stand-​off at first, (probably because he’s old school and not like one of those newbie super polite Vets) but he warms up to you when you get to talking with him. I definitely feel that he does have a love and concern for animals.
Okay most of the time, I do dread the bill when his staff rings me up, but hey that’s a part of the business. I hope more of you Unilocalers are willing to give him a chance, because I do feel that he is a great vet.

Wow, boy should I have Unilocal!ed before going. My dog had to go to the ER because her eyeball popped out, and I guess the ER place doesn’t research who they recommend to go for a follow-​up cause this place was THE WORST place I have EVER experienced in my 10 years of owning dogs.
To remove her stitches they pulled SO HARD on her eyelid that I swear if her eyeball was loose it would have come out on its own. My dog was screaming for them to stop and I don’t know what I was thinking, I should have just pulled her away from them but I couldn’t even WATCH what they were doing to her.
SO TERRIBLE I was traumatized. Go to Golden State Humane Society in Garden Grove, farther away but WELL WORTH IT for people who CARE and don’t charge a million bucks for eyedrops she didn’t even need. This vet guy PRIED her eyeball open after it was STUCK together to the lid without even putting EYEDROPS in there. WOW could have ripped her cornea RIGHT OUT OF HER EYE.
If I could get this guy’s license taken away, I would do it faster than it took to write this review.
Well, I’m glad my dog didn’t go blind.
