Goch & Son’s Towing

For the people that say the bad reviews are just for illegal tows you may be right, however, I expect all companies to do the right thing and not be out to just rob a person blind! Car got towed from in front of the hospital during an emergency. Called the company. Their website says they are open 24 hours a day but guess what. They towed my car on a Saturday night around 7:00 and when I called said they were closed until Monday so I could not get my car until then. I feel like if you are open 24 hours I should be able to pick up my car. Second — I have never heard of $ 500 for a tow! Last year my brother’s car got impounded and it was $ 250 to get it out. I have a friend that lives in Southfield whose car was towed for parking in a no parking zone and it was $ 200. All very reasonable. $ 500 is just ridiculous. I will say one thing. They will NEVER get my business or any recommendation from me for their service. If anything I think you should try to avoid doing business with them if at all possible. I am admitting my wrongdoing with the parking in a «no parking zone» but I still don’t think its fair for them to charge up the wazooo!
If you have this same issue please report them to the Better Business Bureau and you can also file a Petition Regarding Impoundment of Motor Vehicle and dispute the fees in court. You can find the document on the

SCAM ALERT!!! Why would anyone do business with a con artist company full of snakes??? even channel 4 news did a investigation story on them. They should be ashamed of themselves. I hope they go out of business lmfaoooo.

This towing company refused to let me speak to their manager after my car was towed, and cost me $ 390 to tow my car after it was in University Foods for less than an hour.

These assholes are a rip off. $ 410.00 for a 5 mile tow. Just goes to show you the type of people they are. Ignorant, uneducated assholes.

Great experience! Brenda was very pleasant and helpful at the front desk. She answered all of my qustions and was more than accomodating to my needs. She was also empathetic to my situation listening to me ramble on about my accident and the intangibles of the customer service.
Having been in an accident, I had to get my car towed off the express way. The arrival was very quick and the driver moved in a fast and efficient manner. The Gentleman that came out to get the car was a chill dude but unfortunately i don’t remember his name.
Fletch was a great guy too! He took me out to the yard where my car was parked and even got me a few bags for my things. Then after i got the stuff out of my car, Fletch helped carry said bags out to my ride. Hell of a guy. He should be managing the spot.

bunch of a-​rods… if there was a way to shut them down, I would. yes they towed me. but $ 400? thats highway robbery. for that I fault them. I hope their building burns down

As another reviewer mentioned, I think many of these reviews are from people who were illegally parked and towed and were in a bad frame of mind to begin with. However, people illegally parked don’t choose their towing company, so please take their reviews with a grain of salt. You’re either here because you already want to review them, or because you’re trying to choose a towing company to move a disabled vehicle.
My car was dead in the driveway and replacing the battery didn’t help. The repair shop that was recommended by my neighbor told me to call Goch & Sons to have the car towed. The person on the phone was polite and informed me that it would be an hour to an hour and a half. I told her that was no problem.
The gentleman showed up on time (one hour and twenty minutes later), was super polite and professional, had the vehicle on the flat bed in five minutes (no additional charge for the flatbed instead of a two-​wheel tow) and the price quoted for the tow was average for the area. If you’re actually looking for a tow and you have a choice regarding the company, I have no qualms recommending Goch & Sons as your choice, although nobody loves having a car towed in the first place.

I don’t think other reviews are fair in any way. Of course, no one is a «fan» of a towing service, because you only encounter them when something is wrong. How dare the evil towing machine take your car away when you failed to follow simple parking rules?! In Detroit, most laws are ignored, but don’t blame others when you do wrong and get busted. It’s not the police or towing services fault that your car got impounded with a hefty bill. If I owned a tow truck, I would tow every car that parked in the fire lane at the grocery store.
Okay, so my car is an old piece of shit and needs towing a few times a year for simple breakdowns. For awhile, I commuted to Detroit every weekend, and one night, my alternator gave out. While I sensed it would happen, my car died and coasted to a stop on the side of the expressway at 3:00am in Southwest Detroit. I Googled their number and called them. I figured I would be sitting there all night, but a flatbed came in 20 minutes to haul me 25 miles home: a total cost of $ 145 that I paid out of pocket and got reimbursed by my insurance. I was home within an hour and very pleased with the service. Another time, my wife locked her keys in her car in the parking garage at college late at night in Midtown. I was at home, but I had all the money. You can’t get a tow in Detroit without cash up front. I had to drive 30 minutes to rescue her and the car since we had no extra set of keys. I called the tow service when I left to go there, and when I arrived, the tow truck was right behind me. The guy, who was friendly and quick to work, walked to her car with his bag of tools and opened it up: a cost of $ 55. I’ve never had a problem at all with this towing service, and I have their number saved in my phone.

My car broke down on the Interstate and AAA sent a truck from Goch & Sons. The driver was given the wrong location by AAA but found me after a short delay. He was very professional. AAA only pays for the first 5 miles, but their rates for the additional distance were not bad.

Worst company ever. I commute to Wayne State and after being parked for an hour my car got towed. Fine, they’re just doing their job. But when I call to get information such as cost, location, price, etc… they hang up on me! Twice I called and both times received no answers. Getting your car impounded is already stressful, nobody needs to be treated terribly as well. Oh the one bit of information they told me was that it would cost me $ 400 cash, to get it out. Have you ever heard of that amount before? Absolutely crazy. We all make mistakes but in this economy it seems like they must be flourishing from other peoples misfortune. I’m a student and work part time, who do they think can afford this. I now know how they’ve kept in business for so long. Disgusting.
