The excellence of Threshold Martial Arts flows from the top down. Threshold is led by Bill Schimuk, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert and natural instructor. Bill’s passion for teaching is especially evident in his work with the younger generation of grapplers at Threshold. It is no surprise that the school has received a number of accolades from the community, especially among law enforcement. Aside from top-notch techniques, Bill engages the youth classes in sponsored charity and stresses academics, teamwork and– above all– respect. Having trained at several other schools, I can say that Threshold is a teaching school. Testing is encouraged as a means to gauge improvement and focus on areas requiring attention. Lead striking instructor Ed Serra’s Muay Thai classes are just as rewarding as they are demanding. The classes are eclectic and focus on striking, defense, conditioning and strategy of Muay Thai. Classes are small and the students span a range of levels and martial arts backgrounds. I was immediately welcomed and continue to train with a number of great folks. I look forward to steady improvement with the team at Threshold.
