A VERYRUDEFEMALEEMPLOYEE — – I was a customer — it is not cheap — I just walked out and told them I would go to Whole Foods instead… one of the employees was so rude to me — she said she was«frustrated with me» because I was asking her specific questions. DONOT go there, Denver has tons of natural health solutions.

I am going with 2 stars after trying to align with this little Pseudoclinic for the past four months, after following all the plans they had for my health. Did not work. Fail. I came to YAO/Daniel with a really whacked out shoulder I injured somehow. I had already done massage(nada), chiropractic work down the street at Washington Park Chiropractor(helped!!!), and wanted to complete the trifecta with acupuncture. Instead my diet was reviewed and I was told that I must immediately start a gluten-free dairy free egg free diet because I was clearly allergic to those things. Mind you, no tests were given to ascertain this. This diagnosis and a half hour treatment of acupuncture set me back about $ 200. Each successive visit is about $ 200. To get a little bottle of herbs is about $ 200. Can you call in and get your little bottle of herbs refilled? Reminding you this is Ginger and stuff, not prescription meds regulated by the FDA, and the answer is no! You must come in for a $ 200 visit to get another bottle of herbal remedy. Daniel asked questions about my diet, looked at my tongue, felt my wrists. He drops the F bomb a lot, which I leave to your own interpretation. I left on the first visit asked to give up gluten, dairy, and eggs, and cut my coffee. I have been blindly been following this diet for about four months now, and no real improvement to the symptoms I have trouble with. Overall, Daniel seems concerned with one’s overall health, but takes himself a little bit too seriously. I have to say I do believe the acupuncture helped but was not pleasant at all. I also believe the herbal remedies helped but paying $ 200-$ 300 every time you walk in is ridiculous. Not be able to get a refill on your herbs and have to have a scheduled $ 200 Dr. Appointment– ISINSANE! This is not a real doctors office people! This is an herbal remedy shop! In that respect I do feel like this little shop is taking advantage of folks, most Who are more than willing to fork out tons of money to someone with no credentials. Unfortunately I just can’t reconcile this. I will not be back.

My experience can only be summed up as yuck. I was gifted a foot massage at Yao Clinic. The message therapist appeared to be suffering from a cold, which I am suffering fromnow. It’s really not consderate to work on clients when you’re sick. I really disliked the massage. When I asked for more pressure the therapist has a bit of an attitude. The massage was not very good. Aside from her repeated sniffling, the worst part was the copious amounts of oil used. After the massage, my legs were covered in oil along with my feet. She only removed a small portion of oil from my feet. Whatever towels she used ended up in the hamper and I couldn’t find any fresh towels in the room. She disappeared and I was left wondering the hall looking for a towel. I wore flats and was slipping out of my shoes. I found the bathroom to inadequately paper towel off the oil. I was so disgusted, I went home and showered.

I can’t really say it better than anyone else has said it here already. Daniel is one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. I’ve never before experienced acupuncture the way he does it. He gets to the heart of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. As one other reviewer said, his approach is much more aggressive than I’ve experienced before, so bring your brave face. In just two visits, he has helped me beyond belief. I came in with severe depression after a traumatic life event, and he has spent a lot of time with me that he didn’t have to just to make sure I was going to be okay. I still have a lot of work to do, but he helps me see that it’s possible.

Ok, why should you see a practitioner of eastern medicine? Did you know in ancient China doctors were paid only when patients were healthy, and they were not paid when they were sick. So Chinese medical doctors have a history of incentive to keep you healthy in a proactive way. On the other hand Western medicine doctors of course get paid when you are sick and get even more $ the sicker, and sicker you become. It’s a slippery slope, yikes! So I try to keep up with my health from a preventative standpoint. Daniel is brilliant, he speaks to you like you’re having a beer with him, not like he’s above you throwing out medical terminology to make your head spin with confusion so he can throw some samples of a new medicine that’s going to cause rectal bleeding. He’s, helpful, compassionate, funny and a pleasure to see. He looks vibrant, and enthusiastic about helping you unlike the burned out, over worked doctors in hospitals. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting, there is spa like music and soothing colors on the walls. I was told things that make total sense about my body and got answers to some why questions that just weren’t being answered properly by google. I would encourage everyone to come to YAO because it’s worth being healthy and happy.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now, I had some health issues going on that a major health company could not figure out. I was in so much pain and extremely uncomfortable, even when discharged from the hospital. I was referred to Daniel, we met and went over my health history, we had a acupuncture session and discussed a herbal regiment. I left feeling extremely confident that Daniel was going to put me back on the right road to a healthier life. Years later, I still go to YAO. I feel 100% better and trust Daniel with my family and friends. I don’t know where I would be if I have never received his number. Each visit I learn something new from Daniel, his knowledge of the Asian medicine and culture is amazing. All the staff at YAO are always very helpful and friendly. You feel welcomed all the time. I will never be able to repay YAO for all they have done for me, I am eternally grateful. Thank you Thank you Thank you Yao Clinic!

Finding a good Chinese Clinic is like dating. You have to sort through a multitude of dates to find a single one with whom you are willing to have second date. Let me help you by referring these folks. I was hesitant to go here cause Daniel is not ethically Chinese. Having been to several different clinics, I have found that most Americans are poor practioners of Chinese medicine. But when I met with Daniel, I found him to be very different from others I have met. He has a deep and thorough knowledge of Chinese philosophy. He doesn’t just travel to China, he has travel throughout China. These experiences have offered him a unique insight into Chinese medicine. For example, he is fluent in Chinese so he is able to travel the entire country fairly easily. Most of China is a wet and thus they deal with health issues regarding dampness. As he lives in Denver, he wanted to know more about the health issues in dry areas. So he traveled to the northwest corner of China and studied with doctors there who dealt with dry issues. He learned many herbal formulas that address issues regarding dehydration and deficits of moisture. Recently, he offered me one of these herbal formulas and I was dumbstruck at its potency. I found myself craving every dose. Needless to say, the chronic kidney pain I was experiencing was dramatically reduced. In terms of his pins, he leaves nothing to chance. He’ll treat you for two hours and charge you the same as one hour. He doesn’t care about the bill, he cares about the healing. I think of most acupuncturists as the guy who changes the oil in your car every three months. They know points and can relieve pain. But someone of Daniel’s quality is more like an engineer, he knows how the symptoms relate to the overall functioning and can address the overall problems so that the symptoms disappear on their own.

If you are in the market for an acupuncturist or a most amazing, booked a month in advance massage therapist… Yao is your place… and with 5 stars I agree… this is «as good as it gets». Chock full of caring, compassionate health professionals, such a great group here. I have been going to Yao for over 3 years and in my experience, Daniel is extremely knowledgable with all things Asian. Having studied in China he has an outstanding and most textural Chinese pharmacy at his fingertips. If he thinks you need it, he becomes a quiet genius at work behind his counter, mixing a perfect potion just for you. Now do NOT think for one second that this potion might taste… uh…good…because they do not. However, if you are overly concerned with taste and willing to sacrifice some effectiveness, ask for capsules! He is also an unparalleled acupuncturist, willing to tackle any condition you bring him, yet in my opinion, not for the beginner. Very nice, thorough and knowledgeable mind you but a more aggressive style than others I have tried across the US. Tricia is also available here and she is a wonderful, insightful and very detail oriented acupuncturist who I think offers a kinder and gentler approach. I’m just sayin. I love them both for different reasons. After many years of seeing various Massage Therapists and Rolfers, Zoe is my favorite Massage Therapist/Rolfer and you’ll thank yourself for seeing her but remember to book way in advance. Amber is a fantastic MT in a different way. She is not a Rolfer but after 10 years behind the table and now in her last semester of acupuncture school, has more than a few ways to get her relaxation point across! As you may have guessed I am no stranger to acupuncture/alt healing and body work. I can say without hesitation that I have never had a less than stellar experience at Yao.
