Windows Dressed Up goes above and beyond to ensure that you are not just happy with your purchase but thrilled. Ours was a small order and the service we received was outstanding. Not only that, they were able to provide excellent guidance, suggestions, and solutions while I dithered trying to figure out what I wanted. (Their selection is wonderful.)

Terrific customer service. Great selection of fabrics, and they even used fabric I had because they have their own workroom. Installation was quick and turnaround time on the draperies was fast.

We were very impressed with the selection and service provided by Bob and Linnie, they also knew our budget and helped us find what we were looking for without breaking the bank. We were able to install blinds on all our windows (9 in all) in one afternoon.

My new custom blackout drapery has exceeded my expectations. From beginning to completion Hannah and everyone at Windows Dressed Up gave me five star service. I have a giant window that was in need of a blackout window treatment. I wanted a modern luxury hotel look and Hannah immediately helped narrow down the infinite choices of fabric. I had specific ideas about the ceiling track, wand and pleating. They did everything just how I wanted. The installer was experienced, professional and fast. The new drapes are worth every cent.

In the late Fall of 2014, I went to Windows Dressed Up to have custom draperies made for two over-​sized windows, for two bedrooms. They have a very large selection of fabrics and hardware to choose from. I was allowed to take home a swatch book overnight to select my fabric. I placed the order, putting half down, and was told that the curtains would be ready in around 30 days. Within the month, I received a call that the curtains and hardware was ready and scheduled an installation date. I was very happy with everything to this point. However, things went downhill from here. The day before the installation, the remainder of the balance was charged to my credit card, but they ran the amount twice. This caused a hold on my credit card because of the large amount — I did not know a hold was placed until I tried to use the card at a restaurant and the charge was denied. I called Windows Dressed Up and they reversed the second charge. The installer showed up at the promised time and hung the curtains in both rooms. After they were hung, I was very surprised at how wrinkled the curtains were. Also, after the installer left, I noticed he damaged an end table in my master bedroom. I called Windows Dressed Up and informed them of the wrinkled curtains and the damage. I was given the phone number of the installer, and was told I would need to contact him directly to deal with the damage. Regarding the wrinkles, I was told that curtains need time to «hang out», but that Linnie and her assistant would come over and see what they could do to help. They arrived and used a spray product, and told me to leave the curtains in place for a couple of days to allow the spray product to set. I did this, and several days later when I took a closer look, I noticed the curtains had several crooked seams. This was before the Holidays, and I didn’t have time to try to get this corrected. At the start of 2015, I called back and said the curtains still didn’t hang properly, there are crooked seams, and I said that I thought the curtains need more weight in the hem. Linnie told me to bring them in, and they would correct the seams and add more weight. I took the curtains down and took them in, and was told it would take about a week to complete the work. I picked up the curtains, took them home, and began hanging them up when I noticed that the weights were not added to the hem. I called again and Linnie apologized about the mistake — so I had to take everything back. Another week later, I picked up the curtains, checked that the weight was added, and took them home and got them hung. However, six months later, the curtains are still very winkled and do not hang well — they look as though they were sewn by a high school home economics class, which is not a good look for $ 3,800 worth of curtains. I tried to make this work, and followed all the directions that Windows Dressed Up gave me, but the curtains were assembled so poorly, I don’t think there is any hope other that to start completely over. If you are looking to have custom curtains made here, be warned that you may spend a long time trying to get things right — if it happens at all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE our new Allure shades. We were new construction and had Lennie and Bob on board even before we were near completion. They have a great selection of window treatments and innovative ideas. They have a wide variety of fabrics and price points. They are detailed and extemely knowledgeable. When we thought the house was ready for blinds the installer (who has worked with them for years) came out and THANKFULLY suggested we wait until the construction clean was more complete. We were orginally going with another outfit that had done the prewiring for the motorizred shades. When we decided to work with Windows Dressed UP our prewire was not compatible. They wired around the windows and are now customizing a wood trim to cover the wires!
I also had my bedding done at Windows Dressed Up. Love the idea that they have their own work room. I had the bed ordered but not on site. Comforter and pillows were exactly what I had visioned but was a bit big once we had the bed in place. Lennie and Bob came over and took the comforter and made the proper adjustments and it is perfect.
We have just ordered the blinds for the upstairs this week.
I find their customer service excellent. Far better then any other retailer.
I have just referred a close friend who is doing a huge remodel to this business.

I took my idea into their store and Linnie was very helpful in finding the perfect fabrics for the draperies and cornices and another lady drew up the computer image exactly as desired. Linnie warned me of sticker shock, however, the price quoted was three times what I expected. I took the fabric books home and decided to check out fabric costs and yardage requirements. The fabric price Linnie quoted was right on, however, her quote included twice the yardage necessary vs my calculation. We could have talked over the yardage requirements, IF she had called, but there was no follow-​up, none. My score is based on their complete lack of customer service. If their service is this poor before they get my order, how bad does it get after they have my money?

A solid 4 stars. Highly recommended.

Final ⁶⁄₆ blind installed in 2 minutes today. Fits perfectly.

Installer came today and quickly and competently installed ⁵⁄₆ blinds. The 6^th one was manufactured incorrectly (off by ¼-​inch). He took it away and within 1 hour we received a followup phone call telling us that the replacement had been ordered.

The decision maker has made more visits. It appears we will be buying from here as soon as soon as we save up some more money. We looked at alternatives at other stores (e.g., Room & Board) and did not find anything we were happy with.

Went in (with the chief decision maker, AKA wife) to get an estimate for shades.
Bob & Linnie were extremely helpful.
The product looks very good. I just wish the price were less.
We have not made a buying decision yet.

Love our new shades!!! They are functional and gorgeous making the living space warm and inviting. Working with Linnie was great. With her expertise she helped us select the type of window coverings to meet our needs. The shades were an investment that will be in service for many years. For the living space we basically bought two shades in one… a cellular shade on top of a roman shade… that increased the cost but it was well worth it!!! Advice for the bedrooms gave us beautifully functional shades for several rooms at a very reasonable cost. We have more light in the rooms now while still maintaining privacy. Installation was done expertly and quickly.
Linnie also provided us excellent color advice for our painting project as we struggled to redesign our living space. The simple low and no cost suggestions to address our limited storage options were also very helpful and appreciated.
We are enjoying our new shades. Additionally we were thrilled to have worked with a local small business.

If possible, I would rate Windows Dressed Up with a «negative» 5! Terrible! Terrible! Terrible experience! BUYER BEWARE!!!
Although they are over-​priced, I was lured in by the wonderful idea of dealing with a family-​owned business (believing I would be in very good hands) – big mistake! A simple job that was to take approximately 4 weeks, has taken over 4 months & still isn’t complete! I paid the 50% down when I placed the order, but the big shocker – Linnie charged my credit card for the final 50% due BEFORE they ever came out to install! I hadn’t even seen the finished product! The job was not complete & satisfactory! Isn’t it standard practice to wait for completion? Isn’t it illegal &/​or unethical to collect a balance due before a job is finished?!
At any rate, we moved forward, trusting all would be fine. What a hard lesson learned!
1. On their first attempt at delivering/​installing what was ordered (long after the 4 week completion date), 2 of the 3 cornices were an incorrect size. One solar shade was an incorrect size, & one solar shade pull hung much longer than the length of the actual window. Linnie (the owner) promised to reorder everything asap. Weeks passed without hearing a single thing from her. I had to reach out multiple times in order to get any kind of update! If I didn’t call or email, I got nothing!
2. On their second attempt at delivering/​installing, 2 new cornices were fabricated… and one looked nothing like the other one (although they would be side by side on the same wall)! This time, one cornice actually fit the window, but the other one had no medallions for the tufting and no crown molding at the top! They were two very different cornices! Again, I heard nothing from Linnie after the installer left the house.
3. At that point, I reached out, listing all the mistakes Windows Dressed Up had made, and requested a refund on the cornices. I never asked for any type of compensation for the entire order. Simply the cornices. As was par for the course, I heard nothing from Linnie, however, her husband, Bob, did respond via email. He initially offered a 10% refund, but then stated he didn’t care for my «overall attitude… being unpleasant» He said he was «finished discussing the project with me». And, if I had any further comments, I could discuss them with his attorney!
I can assure you, I have saved every single email. My «comments» were simply reiterating to Bob each time they had made another mistake, or lied to me, or collected their payment in full before the job was ever complete… and without my permission!
This is absolutely NOT a company I would ever recommend to anyone! Shocking that they are allowed to be in business! Horrible!!!

Our major distaste for Windows Dressed Up was that the owners were not forthcoming with all costs of the product: shipping and handling, installation, and miscellaneous fees. Our initial whole-​home quote increased by 50% without much of a rationale — this was after putting down a 50% deposit. Granted, we made some slight changes, but certainly not a 50% increase in total cost. If they had offered to return the deposit, we would have bolted. Because of this, we’ve decided to only partially complete the home and take our business elsewhere. The owners promised everything — from measurements to installation — within 2 weeks. We just got our «final» installation (the installer needs to come back for readjustments), after ordering in July (for reference: it’s now October). The blinds clank and clatter throughout the night, light peeks through unevenly, the sides of the blinds are already curling at the sides. The valances/​facias are not uniform; which, according to the installer, is because of the owners initial poor measurements.
We really, really wanted to support local businesses in our new neighborhood. After our interaction, I would be hesitant to deal with these folks again.

We enjoyed working with this locally owned business. Really great selection and some interesting ideas for window treatments you wouldn’t see elsewhere. We were serviced by the owner who lives in the neighborhood and has been in the business many years. Might seem a bit pricey, but let them know your budget and they will work with you. Also, they will come to your home and make sure everything will fit before ordering which as important to us as our house has very old-​fashioned windows. Installation was professional and accurate.
